June 9, 2023

8:40 AM

Tokyo, Japan

As the rising sun shined on his face like a blinding light, a man was laying in bed waking up to the morning shine. In a moment he stuck out his left arm to block the sunlight from shining on his face as he also stuck out his right arm from his alarm clock to reach for his phone on the night-stand next to him. As he grabbed his phone he turned it on to check his calendar for a bit and then placed it down on his chest.

"...*SIGH*..."

"June 9, 2023, almost 2 years since the start of the Next Gen Hope's Peak Academy…. But also… The Reign of Despair."

"Ever since The Last Killing Game, the world has been able to bring itself together and form new bonds for the people of Earth to overcome the despair that Junko Enoshima, the Ultimate Analyst or rather….. The Ultimate Despair herself has unleashed."

"With the fears of despair gone along with Junko Enoshima, everyone was able to find peace and freedom away from total destruction and certain death. But…. Not all of us were able to make it alive together. Even before the killing game I, Makoto Naegi the Ultimate Lucky Student was just a regular boy who won a lottery to attend Hope's Peak Academy earning the title Ultimate Lucky Student when I first attended Hope's Peak. However, an event called The Tragedy of Hope's Peak changed everything the world wasn't ready for. During this event my class friends and I were held hostage in Towa City but, after the hostage dilemma we were taken into shelter at Hope's Peak at that point."

"But Junko Enoshima was somehow able to erase our lifetime at Hope's Peak giving her the chance to finally start The First Killing Game. Even though I survived… Not all my friends survived to follow their futures in hopeful lives. After we were able to end Junko's Killing Game and escaped, we were found by the Future Foundation, an organization which was formed to end the despair that Junko Enoshima has reigned on the world. But even that wasn't enough…..."

As he was in bed, Makoto looked at his ceiling with a tired but also depressing look to his eyes as he slowly exhaled to start getting out of bed. Even after almost 2 years, he was still feeling quite sad and guilty since the worldly event. He still remembered the friends that he had lost during the first Killing Game, Sayaka Maizono….. Was the first friend he lost during the game along with her killer, Leon Kuwata who was another friend of his. After their deaths, his other friends were also killed off either as victims or executed for being the murders of the victims. As he thought to himself, he still felt guilty from that day on that he couldn't save all of his friends.

As he got out of bed, he put on his shirt and started to get ready for his job as principal at Hope's Peak Academy. Ever since the Tragedy, he and his surviving friends were helping with construction of a New Hope's Peak Academy. After construction, Makoto was made principal of the new academy working alongside one of his close friends Kyoko Kirigiri the Ultimate Detective. Even though he was principal of the academy for more than a year he was still able to be himself and keep a smile on his face for the students who attended the academy and all the times the students even helped him when he was in a bad situation. As Makoto finished getting ready, his phone started to vibrate as he grabbed his phone and saw that Kyoko was calling him.

As he got his phone he let out a slow breath and started to answer Kyoko.

"Hey Kyoko."

"Hello Makoto." Kyoko answered as she was in her office in her chair.

"I'm on my way to the academy now so I'll leave you in charge until I get there." Makoto said as he started to get to his car out front.

"Good, I'll look over until you get there."

"Thanks, hey I'm on my way to Morning Stoppe so you want me to get you some coffee or something?"

"A mint latte will suffice."

"Alright then but what about the others, do they want anything also?"

"Oh boy well Yasuhiro's been shouting all morning about wanting to drink some alcohol which of course is against health violations so I tried to pick for him since he couldn't even think about what he wanted but he was being persistent as always."

"Geez, I'll just get him some whipped coffee instead. So what about Aoi and Toko?"

"Toko just wants chocolate milk and Aoi just wants some wheat donuts and milk."

"Figures, I'll go down and get it for them. I'll be there in about 26 minutes give or take depending on traffic and the cafe."

"We'll manage just fine, we'll wait for you until you get here."

"Also if you find Byakuya can you make sure to ask him if he finished going over those student-loan papers we've been discussing about?"

"Yes, I'll make sure to find him when I get the chance."

"Alright I'll see you there bye."

"Good-Bye." Kyoko said as Makoto hung up his phone.

Outside of her office the sound of sneakers began to form louder as a girl with a ponytail came running down the halls towards Kyoko's office. This girl was Aoi Asahina the Ultimate Swimming Pro who had a really concerned and scared look on her face. Then Aoi came to Kyoko's office and then darted into her office catching Kyoko off guard as she panting as if she just finished a hardcore workout.

"Ky-Kyoko!" Aoi shouted as she was trying to gain her breath.

"Aoi what's wrong why are you so exhausted?" She asked in slight confusion.

"Yasuhiro and Toko accidentally let the animals out at the research facility and they're causing a lot of trouble and disturbing the students!"

"What?!" Kyoko said in deep confusion now.

"I know it's out of nowhere but c'mon there's no time to explain right now!" Aoi shouted as she got out of Kyoko's office with Kyoko getting out of her chair and started following Aoi.

"What the hell did those two do this time?!" Kyoko shouted as the two hurried to whatever destination they were going to.

"Yasuhiro was … trying to get his hands … on the academy's kookaburra for one of his students … but Toko saw and happened to follow him since she knew Yasuhiro wasn't up to something good … so when she found him trying to get the kookaburra … she scared him and accidentally let the kookaburra loose with … them both trying to get the kookaburra but … Yasuhiro kept crashing and let the other animal's cages open … resulting in the other animals being loose." Aoi explained while catching her breath.

"So basically this is his fault entirely."

"Yeah that's pretty much it when you narrow it down."

"I swear to god when this is resolved I'm going to get his pay deducted by 40%." Kyoko declared in annoyance.

"We're actually lucky they're loose in the academy and not outside the district considering the research facility is linked to the back of the academy. But they're really causing a ruckus to the students and teachers so we need to hurry!" Aoi added as they rushed.

"Why does he need the kookaburra anyway?" Kyoko asked.

"How should I know? All I know is that Toko told me to get you while she was trying to minimize the chaos." Aoi answered.

"But where's Byakuya? Why isn't he here helping us?" Aoi added.

"You know him nowadays, he's maintenancing his company's reputation while his academy's job is just a part-time job which is why we almost rarely see him."

"What about Kyosuke and Ryota?"

"Those two aren't even associated with Hopes Peak which you do realize, right? Besides, the Future Foundation's been dismissed ever since the Academy's opening after construction."

"Oh right I keep forgetting of course it's been so long since, but who cares let's just hurry."

At the local cafe Makoto parked his car in a parking space and started to go out to the cafe. As he walked he noticed someone say his name.

"AY Principal Makoto!"

Makoto heard his name and turned around to see a student of the academy come closer to greet him.

The student's name was Dalwyn Auden whose talent was the Ultimate Foreigner where he had blonde hair, wore an orange shirt hoodie, sports shorts, and sports shoes. During Dalwyn's childhood his family was always there for him because his parents have had many friends who cared for each other where they each shared advice and strong relationships in which his parents have used to teach him to be open-minded and accept those who were different to him. When he booked to be an exchange student to find something new for him, he was instantly admired and cared for by all the friends he has made from his exchanements. This was due to the fact that he knew all sorts of things that he learned from his parents and used them to help the friends he made along the way, from physical supporting and strategic training to social insecurities and giving honest and heartfelt advice to his struggling friends.

When Dalwyn first heard of Hope's Peak academy he knew it was perfect for him and decided to enroll for Hope's Peak Academy. During his first days in Japan he was able to befriend quite a number of great friends during his time there, however Dalwyn's and Makoto's relationship was the best one for Dalwyn as he often helped Makoto with his struggles as principal. Of course at Hope's Peak Academy almost all Ultimates learned about 3 different kinds of languages or more since they had a more efficient diverse flow of education at Hope's Peak.

"Oh, hello there Dalwyn, how are you doing today?" Makoto stopped to ask with a gentle smile.

"I'm doing real-ly good right now in fact. I was just stopping by to grab cake pops for lunch and happened to run into you."

"Well isn't that a surprise. I'm quickly stopping to grab some drinks for the council and donuts for Aoi."

"Of course, Aoi can't be herself if she doesn't have at least one donut am I right?" Dalwyn asked as he bumped an elbow against Makoto.

"Yeah, she isn't herself without a donut." Makoto answered with a light chuckle.

"Tell you what, why don't I pay for your cake pops, Dalwyn?"

"Wait really? Are you sure Superior. M?" Dalwyn asked, using Makoto's nickname he came up with.

"Of course, everyday is a new day where I can feel like something great can happen so I know that I can feel high-esteemed about myself."

"Well, when you say it like that I can let you buy those cake pops for me." Dalwyn accepted as Makoto grinned.

"Don't worry it's nice to do things for the students who care about me and besides every one of my students are special and I care about each and every one of you."

"Well almost all of them." Dalwyn rephrased reminding Makoto who he was talking about.

"Yes, almost all of them." Makoto said as he smiled.

"But enough of that of course, c'mon I'll go get you your cake pops." Makoto said changing the subject as Dalwyn followed as they walked to the cafe.

"Alright, but next time if I run into you like this again I'm payin'." Dalwyn remarked.

"If you insist then." Makoto assured as he continued to smile.

Even though he had a life of self-neglect and of course despair, he still had the friends he'd been living and working with for his whole life. Kyoko was of course one of them as he helped Makoto get back up on his feet along with the others who survived the killing games and the Tragedy. He's always felt like no one until he earned his title as the Ultimate Lucky Student which was just an ego to him. But since then, he's begun to feel like he's actually someone as he has people he cares about and they do too. With his new life now, Makoto was able to stand up on his own and went on to live his life to the fullest.

"You know Superior M. if you need anything you can always ask my friends and I to help you out and plus you have Mrs. Kyoko and the other council members too." Dalwyn said to Makoto in need of help.

"It's alright Dalwyn, I already know I'm the principal of Hope's Peak and I can manage myself. Just remember you still have your own friends to help so don't forget." Makoto assured Dalwyn as they entered the cafe.

"Yeah thanks M."

SSSSSSSSSKKKKKKKKKRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

HOORO AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH

"FOR GOD SAKE! STOP MOVING YOU STUPID FREAKING LITTLE CRAPS!" Yasuhiro yelled at the top of his lungs trying to catch the various animals that escaped the facility as the animals were also causing a ruckus to the whole school as everyone who was there early were running and panicking like crazy.

"FOR REAL HAGAKURE YOU NEED TO STOP CAUSING SO MUCH TROUBLE IN THIS STUPID FUCKING SCHOOL!" A black haired boy wearing a battle vest, a white tank-top, camo pants, and army boots shouted scolding Yasuhiro because of his somewhat stupidity while he was trying to catch a Mexican Cottontail.

His name was Heikara Furiru a.k.a the Ultimate Paintballer. During his younger years, his dad and him often played paintball in isolated places in Japan since paintball is pretty small in Japan. His father was really mean but also strong-hearted and constructive in making a situation turn out better. During Heikara's first tournament as a young teen he was able to take out almost every opponent with a single shot thanks to his dad's perfect training in paintball techniques. When he unexpectedly won his first tournament without his dad's help he knew Heikara would be the champion of paintball, ever since then after that he reigned supreme over every single paintball competition he's been in.

"OH WELL SORRY FOR TRYING TO BE PRODUCTIVE FOR MY STUDENTS I CARE ABOUT HEIKARA FURIRU!" Yasuhiro lashed back loudly as he was trying to catch the kookaburra of course.

"THE ONLY CARE THE GUYS GIVE YOU IS THE SATISFACTION OF NOT BEING A STUPID FUCK!"

"Will you guys quit it? This isn't the right time to start arguing, you know!" A multi-colored neon haired girl shouted wearing a dark blue jacket, a green shirt, skirt, headphones, and white sneakers while catching a Cape Fox.

"SHUT UP ANATURI YOU"RE NOT IN THIS!" Heikara shouted at Anaturi, hurting her feelings a little bit.

"Hey take that back you stupid jerk!" Anaturi shouted back.

For Anaturi Bito, her title is the Ultimate D.J. Since she was little she was in awe of the live concerts and performances of various singers and bands, but the one thing she was more interested in was the D.J. concerts, she was inspired by the technological wonders of the music and entertainment that the D.J genre has performed, she's been listening to all kinds of music that's been trending these days and started to make a career of being the best D.J she could ever be. Of course her dad wasn't so sure about her dream but her mom reassured him that she had a strong heart dedicated to follow her dream. During her career she's been wanted to perform in numerous cities around the world and has had great ratings on her performance as well.

For her, Anaturi was stern and kind-hearted for her friends even though she despises Heikara's lethal superiorities.

"That's just mean Heikara!"

"WELL I AIN'T APOLOGIZING UNLESS I GET THIS STUPID FU-"

But before Heikara finished the fox stopped and jumped him on the face making him scream in complete terror as the fox was probably gonna scratch him into a scratching post.

HHWWIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GET IT OFF MEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"WELL THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BEING A TOTAL ASS HEIKARA!" Yasuhiro said in satisfaction as he stopped to savor the moment much to Heikara's annoyance.

HHWWIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"WILL YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND HELP ME!" Heikara shouted trying to get the fox off him.

"Mr. Yasuhiro can you just go and help Heikara please." Anaturi ordered Yasuhiro.

"Alright fine." Yasuhiro unfortunately accepted as he quickly hurried to get the fox off Heikara much to his amusement, unfortunately the fox wasn't giving up without a fight as Yasuhiro tried yanking the fox off as it started to cling even tighter and hissed more louder.

HHWWIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW THIS ISN'T WORKING STUPID!"

"Hold up man this suckers putting up a real ass fight!" Yasuhiro commented as he tried yanking the fox off with all his strength of course ignoring the potential damage to Heikara since both of them have had a small hatred toward each other.

SLAM!

As a large crashing thud caught Anaturi's attention toward a braided short dark haired purple girl fall onto the floor.

"N-NO! GIVE ME MY GLASSES BAAAACK!" Toko Fukawa the Ultimate Writing Prodigy cried on the floor as her glasses were taken away by a Siberian Husky while she attempted to catch him but she kept falling onto the floor without them.

URUUUUUUUUUFF URUUUUUUUUUFF

"Ms. Toko are you alright? Anaturi worriedly asked as she ran over to Toko and helped her up.

"Y-Yes I think so … But the husky t-took my glasses and I can't see without them. Can you get my glasses for me please Anaturi?"

"I'll try but I don't know if that husky will be as easy as the rest of them."

Coincidentally….

URUUUUUUUUUFF URUUUUUUUUUFF

"Speaking of which, come here Mr. Fluffball!" Anaturi shouted chasing after the husky which was like taunting her.

URUUUUUUUUUFF

"Hayuzu help me out here!" Anaturi shouted to a blue and blonde haired girl wearing a short tank-top with a full on swimsuit, hot-pants jeans, and white sneakers.

"Yah expect me t' help yah eow' when i'm bein darted boy thiies ovuhgraown seagu- OW!" Hayuzu South the Ultimate Kitesurfer shouted while she was being attacked by an albatross.

RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW

Now for Hayuzu South, her title is the Ultimate Kitesurfer and what's unique about her from her friends is that she's half Australian. She was born in Australia but her dad is Australian and her mother Japanese where the two met at Bondi Beach, one of Australia's iconic beaches where her dad and his friends hang out where they happened to meet her mom and some of her friends also who were visiting for a school vacation. Her dad was a natural-born surfer where she learned a lot about the greatness of surfing whenever she got a chance to play with her dad and his friends at Bondi Beach. When she grew up she started taking lessons with her dad, but she was having trouble with her balance in surfing so she decided to take a different route in surfing, kitesurfing where she was a total pro as she was able to get so much air-time that she can perform so many trick shots in the air like she was skateboarding. Now she has won various titles earning her official name the Aussie Wave Woman which she was rather flustered by but she was still able to hold it in.

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH! YOU'RE GONNA BE THE DEATH OF THIS SCHOOL HAGAKUREEEAAAAAAAAYYYOOOOWWWWW!" Heikara yelled as the fox started scratching Heikara more.

HHWWIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"WOULD YOU STOP MOVING HEIKARA!"

Amidst all of the chaos Kyoko and Aoi were able to make it in time before the problem got more out of hand as the two stopped at a screeching halt as they slammed the twin doors open.

BOOOOOOOOM

As they entered the foyer they saw so much destruction and chaos that almost everything was either destroyed or torn up by the animals or Yasuhiro with everyone in a panic or paralzyed in fear.

"TOKO HAGAKURE!" Aoi shouted.

"Ooohh Uuuuuuuuhhh HEY GUYS!" Yasuhiro said in a panicking state as he almost got the fox off.

"YASUHIRO WHAT THE HELL!" Kyoko shouted.

"IT WAS TOKO'S FAULT SHE LET THE ANIMALS OUT!" Yasuhiro yelled, trying to blame Toko for the mess much to her right now.

"W-WHAT?! DON'T BLAME ME FOR THIS YOU FUCKING CRACK HEAD!"

"HEY YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SCARED ME LETTING THAT STUPID BIRD OUT OF THE CAGE!"

"NO I DIDN'T IT WAS YOUR FAULT FOR EVEN BEING IN THE FACILITY AND LETTING ALL THE ANIMALS OUT!"

"Ms. Kyoko Ms. Aoi!" Anaturi shouted in relief as she ran towards them.

"Anaturi are you alright?" Kyoko asked.

"Yeah I guess so but you do realize everyone else is having a problem you know." Anaturi renounced.

"Of course I do but every student that comes across me in distraught is a priority for every teacher so stop complaining and help me since you're perfectly fine from what you established."

"Eh heh he….. Okay."

"Don't worry we'll make sure everythings under control, you just go and help the other students, Anaturi."

"WOULD YAH TWO MOIND HAELPIN US HEAH AND QUIH' TOHKIN WOULD YA GUHLS! Hayuzu screamed, grabbing hold of the Albatross she caught.

"HEY WE'RE WORKING ON IT!" Aoi shouted back in annoyance.

"FOCUS! We need to keep this under control before Makoto gets here." Kyoko said in a slight panic.

"Wait, is Makoto almost here yet?" Aoi asked, realizing Makoto isn't here.

"No but he'll be here any minute from getting our drinks Aoi, you and the other teachers start gathering up all the animals while we save the students."

"Got it!" Aoi responded.

"Are we even gonna get all the animals under control?" Anaturi asked.

"Don't worry we'll get things under control before Makoto gets here." Kyoko assured her.

"I don't know about that but I just hope everyone's alri-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

SSSSSSSSSSSSSKKKKKKKKKKRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!

Anaturi screamed as she saw a American kestrel about to dart right into them.

"DUCK!" Aoi shouted as the three ducked, avoiding the homing bird as it flew out of view.

"Yeah let's get right to it then!" Anaturi said anxiously.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Aoi shouted as she ducked again.

"What no-"

URUUUUUUUUUFF URUUUUUUUUUFF UUUUUUUURUUUFF

BBBAAAMMM!

THUD!

As Kyoko asked what happened now she got tackled by the Siberian Husky that stole Toko's glasses right onto the floor.

"You okay Kyoko?" Aoi asked.

"Uuuuuuuhhhh…" Kyoko murmured.

"I think that's a yes." Anaturi remarked.

Unbeknownst to the group, Makoto and Dalwyn were right outside the academy about to go in.

"I know Yasuhiro has to go by the standards of the academy but you can at least have him drink at least once at the academy Makoto." Dalwyn said in consideration.

"Look I know you and Yasuhiro are great friends but I don't want Yasuhiro to go off the deep end especially at the academy if you get what I'm saying.

"Yeah but still at least have him drink on his break."

As Makoto and Dalwyn got to the front of the academy, Makoto turned to Dalwyn before opening the door with his right hand.

"Why don't we just talk with Yasuhiro about it during Lunch then." Makoto suggested.

"That's probably a bad choice considering that he gets riled up wanting to drink alcohol during lunch with everyone out."

"Hey if he or anything else comes at me I'll make sure to give it a freaking beatdown."

As Makoto said in brimming pride he opened the door until-

HHHHHHHOOOOOOOONNNNKKKK!

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

BAM!

SPLOOSHH!

THUD!

When Makoto opened the door the first thing to happen was a Brant Goose flying right into him spelling the drinks he was holding onto him and fell to the ground much to the sudden stop of Dalwyn.

"The HELL?! Makoto you alright?" Dalwyn asked, quickly dropping his bag to Makoto and the ground covered in coffee and milk.

"Oooowww…. Man that hurts…" Makoto groaned in slight pain from the impact still on the floor.

"So you're alright then…"

"Yea but what just hit me in the face?"

"Uuuuummmm, Makoto."

When Makoto looked up, he was already in not complete shock but was still surprised keeping his current state. In front of the two guys they saw students, teachers, and animals running all over the foyer and the whole academy. Makoto was still in a blank stare while Dalwyn was just completely confused by the whole scenario.

"Well this is a first." Dalwyn remarked somewhat amazed by this once in a lifetime event probably.

"Oh boy….."

While the two were in complete confusion they noticed Kyoko being smothered by an angry raccoon which coincidentally enough noticed the two also giving each other an awkward stare.

"Ummmmmm….. Good Morning Makoto?" Kyoko said awkwardly while grabbing hold of the raccoon with a weird smirk.

"Y'know what, how about we just go with wine for now?" Dalwyn suggested trying to finish the topic as Makoto thought about the whole problem.

- Yep, just another day at Hope's Peak Academy -

Somewhere in a tall forest:

Somewhere not in Japan but rather in America, a Redwood Forest was in the scene. Huge redwood trees almost as a mountain covered the forest floor as the sun shone on the ground and the luscious green that covered the whole forest from the canopy with distant chirping being heard from all around. However, despite the beautiful redwood forest itself a sound could be heard from the floors of the forest like a remote control car driving. Coming from what the sound is, it came from a rather small but awe-inspiring little round robot which was rolling around the forest. It seemed to be taking a little stroll around the forest taking in the scenery and the sounds of its surroundings, possibly to spend time alone.

- OOWeeeooo Wweeehhh -

The small rounded robot made as it continued to roll around enjoying the forest scenery.

- Reeoo Woooeeee reee? -

As it rolled around the beautiful forest it didn't take long until it noticed something on the ground where it almost passed by. When the little robot stopped and turned, there it saw a rather suspicious looking chip on a rock in front of it.

- Weee Wooooooooooo -

As it got closer and stopped right in front of the chip, it looked as if it was analyzing the chip's structure and components. When it finished inspecting the chip it looked like it was lost at what this small chip was doing in the middle of the Redwood Forest or why it looked suspicious.

- Wep -

So the little robot decided to take the chip as it dispensed an arm out of its compartment and picked it up. But when it finished storing it…

- Wee-heee wee -

When the robot heard the noise it looked up and saw yet another robot but instead was flying as this robot was made out primarily out of kitchen appliances and utensils.

- Where woo woo woo reeoooohh -

- Yee roo -

From the conversation they had it looked like they were friends but it also looked like the flying robot was saying it found something.

- Eeewe wrooo wa -

- Ye heerwo wa -

The round robot didn't know if it was something boring or important but it decided to see what it's friend found and started to tell it's friend to lead the way.

- Wee woo -

- Wee wweeo -

And so the two robots started to venture out to see what flying robot was talking about.
