The sound of horse hooves grabbed her attention as she lifted her head, her whispered prayers stopping as she looked out the window.
That's when she saw a figure upon a cyborg horse covered in a hooded dark crimson cloak as it passed the church.

Diana's old heart jumped in her throat as she realized who it was, jumping from her kneeled position, she ran outside, ignoring the stares of her husband and children.

pedestrians stopped, frozen on the streets, others looked out the window as the hooded figure passed them.

Diana ran out of the church and right in front of the horse, forcing the hooded figure to stop

"Please…help us…"

She looked up pleading, she could not see her face as the hood of her cloak and a balaclava covered her features

"They've taken her…they've taken my granddaughter…please…you must help me…"

"Diana! Get away from her!"

Robert ran out of the church, Tony, James, and Thomas close behind, hands on holsters as he reached his wife, grabbing her by her slim shoulders. The hooded figure turned her head toward the three men, watching as Lucy stepped out of the safety of the church, a hand laid protectively over her grown belly.

"We don't need the help from her kind…"

He turned to the gathering crowd of survivors

"A Dhampir"

Immediately the three men along with other pedestrians pulled out their guns, cocking and pointing it at the figure, Diana pulled away from her husbands grasp and turned to him angrily

"We've prayed for a sign, for anything that can help us bring our granddaughter back and he has given it to us…"

"God does not stand with a Dhampir…she is blasphemy! A disgrace against God" Robert spat as he turned his angry gaze at the hooded figure, the rather enormous black raven that was perched on one of the horse's horns cawed. It looked like it was about to poke his eyes out as if angry that he had insulted its master. But Robert knew that Thomas would shoot the thing before it had the chance

"Be on your way Dhampir there is no place for you here"

Diana pushed away from her husband and stood in front of the horse

"Than you are a fool Robert! Even if God did not bring her here, I'd ask the Devil himself for help if it meant bringing Angelia back home rather, she be dead or alive!"

She turned back to the hooded figure

"Please…we don't have much to pay for your services…" she began when Lucy approached,

"Lucy…" James began

"Shut up James…your mother is right, she is our only hope in bringing back our daughter, even if she is gone, I wish to bury her" Lucy said facing the figure and removing her necklace alone with a pouch full of diamonds and gold. She held it out for her.

"It's pure gold and it's not much but we hope that it will be enough to get whatever you need, there are diamonds, gems, and coins in that pouch as well. It's all we have to offer, just please bring my daughter back, even if it's only to bury her" She whispered her eyes full of unshed tears

Diana took out a crumpled picture from her dress and stretched out her hand.

The figure's hand slid out of her cloak and took the necklace and pouch along with the picture. The raven turned its head toward the figure as if she were speaking to it. Suddenly it took flight and they watched as the large Raven flew into the skies and disappeared, the figure turned to the family

"Give me four days' time and I will return with your child"

"May God go with you Red Huntress…" Diana whispered wrapping her hands around her cross.

The figure, nudged her horse into high gear, disappearing toward the road ahead.
Diana turned to Lucy and took her hand

"Come child…you must rest, and I must begin dinner"

Diana wrapped an arm around the younger woman as they headed toward their home, followed by their husbands.

"Looks like they passed two villages ahead unharmed…" Dust spoke through their mental link

"I'm going to go ahead and scout on head…" He always made sure that there were not too many hostile humans that might be a threat to Selena. Perching himself on top of a torn cross upon some rubble that looked like was once a church, he watched as humans perched on the rooftops with guns, pointing out into the distance. A man in a wheelchair had his head bowed praying as another stood not too far off.

Dust turned his dark head toward one of the humans

"There he is"

The sun was blazing as the men looked on full of nerves and tense, Dust could smell the stench of fear as he looked on to see a dark figure on a cyborg horse. He was exactly as they had described him once.

"A black shape passed her. As the man in the long coat headed toward the ames, he looked like some gorgeous idol of a god of war trimmed in crimson lotus blossoms."

The men's hands trembled as their fear increased as the dark rider inched closer to the ruined church. Dust could not believe it. It was the legendry dark Dhampir that went by the name of D

"Selena…"

"I just past the village"

"Are you alright?"

"Fine…I past through the outskirts of the village"

"Good last thing we need are scared humans holding us up from our mission I'm at the abandon ruins of a church…"

"I'll meet you there momentarily"

"Get here quick your not going to believe who I'm seeing"

Dust looked on as the dark figure passed the pillars of the entrance of the church finally stopping at the steps. With grace he climbed off his horse and approached the double doors. Stopping just at the entrance and remaining in the shadows, the tall blonde male turned to him

"We've been expecting you…I'm Alan Elbourne and I'm the one who summoned you here today with this reason…"

Alan paused just as some of the churches roof crumbled under the weight of one of his men who lost his footing, perching up on the roof, he looked back to see that the man caught himself before falling.

"Go on…I'm listening"

Came the soft dark voice of the figure

Dust now had a good view of the dark figure, he was a man that was unrivaled, so much so that even men would find him gorgeous, and women swoon. He wore a wide brimmed traveler's hat, a faded black long coat, wearing a blue pendant and a combat utility belt. Carrying a curved longsword that was strapped on his back.

His youth looked between 17-18 years with a milky white complexion, a powerful frame, and a low voice. He has thick masculine eyebrows, a smooth bridge of a nose, with long thin cold eyes that are quite clear. His lips were tightly drawn, and his hair flowed behind him like a silken waterfall of black. Dust took note of his muscularity.

One thing was for sure, Dhampirs had a haunting beauty.
Selena herself was one in equal to D. Though unlike other Dhampirs she was different being born from a female vampire noble. She had the markings of long silver white hair and light violet eyes with dashes of silver in them that looked like shooting stars. It is what made her stand out from the rest. But she mostly kept her features hidden from prying eyes

"It's about my sister Charlotte. Two nights ago, she disappeared. She was in bed sleeping, it was the middle of the night."

Dust could see, D turning to a small bench like table and staring at a portrait of the young girl

"Several people told us, they saw a carriage outside our house, the carriage…belonged to Meier Link the Vampire"

Alan closed his eyes as he continued

"I organized a search party of fifty men, but it was no uses, we couldn't find them…we were ambushed…took my sister and killed my friends"

Alan turned and threw a pouch full of money, landing just beside the portrait of his sister

"That's just a down payment…you'll get the rest when you find her ten million dollars"

As they continued to speak, Dust heard the familiar sound of hooves, he turned his head just in time to see Selena approaching.

"That's enough…"

Dust turned to see the old man now facing the Dhampir as they continued to speak; he saw D grab the pouch of money

"Someone's coming!"

Dust saw Selena closing in

"That's…impossible!"

"Jons what are you babbling about?"

One of the men investigated looking into the scope to make sure his eyes weren't tricking him

"It's the Red Huntress!"

There was an audible gasp as all the men turned to see

"Red Huntress? Thought she was just myth?"

"She's heading this way!"

And soon they heard hooves, the double doors to the church were wide open, all guns pointed at the figure as her horse stopped just at the entrance, Dust cawed getting the attention of some of the men as he swooped down, landing on Rampage's horn.

Selena turned her head, pulling her hood back just enough as to where her eyes were visible, connecting to his dark golden gaze.

"So…this is D…"

"One and only…"

She suddenly felt something connecting them, as if invincible threads tied them together and her body, soul, and heart called out to him. Her heartbeat increased as she narrowed her gaze just as Rampage neighed and went full speed toward their destination.

Dust could feel the ripple in the air and the sudden change with in not only Selena but with D

"Selena…"

"We must reach the other town, rest and continue on our way"

"So that's the legendary Red Huntress huh…never thought I'd live to see the day…"

D watched as she disappeared, though the effect that she had on him was something taboo, he felt invincible unbreakable threads binding them to one another, his body reacting in a forbidden manner. He could feel the beast in him stirring within him.

It was bewitching…just who was this Red Huntress exactly and why did she have such an effect on him?

There you have it. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. The fanfic follows the story plot of the Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust movie only it will mostly be on Selena's POV. There will be some familiar parts that you will read.
I also took the quote in describing D from "The Rose Princess" it was beautifully written.

I will also be bringing back a few characters from the previous movie.

Please let me know what you think!

Sincerely,
