"Tip your head back, pretty boy." Morgan said to Spencer, who let out a small whine, not wanting to stop playing with his bath toy. Morgan sat back on his feet and chuckled. "Buddy, I need to get the shampoo out of your hair."

"Nuh uh. I want to keep playing with Mildred." Spencer responded, holding up an octopus toy that Garcia had gotten him.

"Mildred?" Derek questioned, highly amused by the name.

"Yup!" Spencer answered, popping the 'p' at the end of the word. "Mildred and I are playing so you can't wash my hair."

"Spencer I need to wash-" He was cut off by his cell phone ringing on the other side of the large bathroom. "Saved by the bell..." He chuckled.

He stood up, drying his hands on a towel before crossing the room to answer the phone. "Derek Morgan."

"Hey Morgan, it's JJ." Came JJ's warm voice through the phone.

"I know Hotch gave everyone the weekend off so you better not be calling about a case." He said in a half joking tone.

"No, no. No case. Not until tomorrow at least." She said. "I'm taking Henry to that new indoor water park that opened up. I was wondering if you wanted to bring Spencer? I'm going to call the rest of the team to see if they want to come too."

Morgan glanced over at the bathtub, where Spencer was talking quietly to his toy, pushing it around in the bubbly water. He smiled at the sight. "That sounds like fun. I'm sure Spencer would love it." His smile disappeared as he remembered something. "Oh, but I don't have a bathing suit for him."

"I can bring one of Henry's suits for him to wear if you want."

"That would be great JJ, thanks. What time were you thinking?" He asked.

"Noon, if that's not too early. Could you let Rossi know for me too?"

"Gotcha, noon it is. And I'll bring Rossi."

They said their goodbyes quickly before Morgan hung up the phone. He walked back over to the large bathtub and knelt down next to it. "Okay bud. Let's finish up."

"Noooo" Spencer whined. "I wanna play with Mildred!"

Morgan smirked. "Well, I suppose you could stay in the bath with Mildred… or you could let me wash out your hair and we can bring her to a water park..."

The boy's eyes went wide at that. "A water park!?" He exclaimed.

"Yup. JJ just asked if we wanted to go."

"Is Henry gonna be there? And Jack?" Spencer asked.

"I know Henry is. And I bet Hotch and Jack wouldn't pass up the chance to go on a waterslide."

"Yay!" The boy squealed, splashing water in his excitement. "And I can bring Mildred?" He asked, to which his dad nodded. "Wow… I've never been to a water park before. I've heard of them and they seem really really fun."

"They are tons of fun." Derek confirmed. "But we can't go if I don't wash your hair..."

Immediately Spencer put his head back. Morgan chuckled and began washing the bubbles from his hair.

"I'm so excited I'm so excited I'm so excited!" Spencer exclaimed as they finished their journey to the water park. Both Rossi and Morgan smiled at the boy's enthusiasm.

When they parked the car, the two adults got out of the car, Derek helping Spencer out. When the boy exited the car, his head tilted to the side with confusion when he saw a gigantic building instead of slides and water like he expected.

"Daddy, where's the park?"

"It's inside that." He answered, pointing to the enormous building. "It's an indoor water park so you can go all year round, even when it's cold."

"Woah..." Spencer breathed, eyes wide.

"Well let's go, bud. Don't want to keep the team waiting any longer than they already have." Morgan said, sending a pointed glare at Rossi, who just shrugged in response.

When they finally got inside and finished paying, they made their way to the entrance to the park. When Morgan opened the door, Spencer's jaw dropped. He had never seen anything like it. There were multiple colorful, looping slides that led to giant pools. There was a lazy river and a hot tub, and there were tons of water toys and floaties everywhere.

After a moment of standing frozen in awe, JJ jogged up to them. She was wearing a simple black one piece bathing suit, and was already soaked from head to toe. "There you guys are! What took so long?" She asked.

"Rossi had a bit of an issue finding a bathing suit." Morgan responded.

"I did not!" Rossi defended. "It was you that wanted me to find something else."

"Yeah! I don't think anyone wants to see you in a speedo, Rossi!"

JJ made a face. "You wanted to wear a speedo?" She asked the older man.

"Of course. The ladies love it." He said simply.

"I tried to get him to choose a normal bathing suit, but he is one stubborn bastard." Morgan said with a chuckle.

"Well then… I hope you plan on staying in adult area, Dave. I don't think any of the kids need to see that much of you."

"Yeah, yeah" Rossi dismissed, walking away towards the changing rooms.

"I don't think any of us want to see that much of him either." Morgan joked.

"Very true. Oh!" She ran over to her bag on a nearby bench and pulled out a small pair of purple swim trunks. "Hopefully these fit Spencer."

Morgan took them from her and Spencer smiled up at her gratefully. "Thank you Aunt JJ."

"Of course sweetheart." She replied with a warm smile, before turning to Morgan. "The changing room's over there. Don't take too long, the kids have been waiting for Spencer to get here."

She then turned and left, leaving the father and son to themselves. "Okay, pretty boy. Let's go get changed."

They made their way to the changing room, claiming a locker as theirs and stuffing their towels and bags in. Morgan gave Spencer Henry's trunks and ushered him into a stall to change, before grabbing his own bathing suit and changing quickly in the next stall.

When he was done, he emerged from the stall to find Rossi, standing in the center of the room, in nothing but a speedo. "Oh god, Rossi. Why can't you wear swim trunks like the rest of us?" Morgan asked, putting his hand up to cover the older man's body from his vision.

"Women love the silver fox in a speedo, what can I say?" Rossi replied smugly.

"Whatever." Morgan said with a shake of his head as Rossi turned and exited the room. He walked over to the stalls and knocked on the door Spencer was behind. "You almost ready, bud?"

A small sniffle came from the other side of the door. "Nuh uh. We gotta go home. H-henry's bathing suit doesn't fit."

Morgan frowned. "Oh baby, don't cry. Can I come in?"

After a second, the door opened and Spencer stood there, tear tracks on his face, holding up the large pair of trunks on his small body. His top half was uncovered, and showed the many scars from his past.

Morgan entered the stall and kneeled down in front of the crying child, gently wiping the tears from his cheeks. "Here, look, we can make them fit."

He grabbed the swim shorts and pulled the strings as tight as he could, extremely happy the trunks could be adjusted. He tied them, the extra string hanging down from the knot, long but not long enough to be an issue. They definitely looked too big on the boy, but they stayed up, so they would work.

Morgan sat back after doing a second knot, just to be safe. "See, it's a little big but it still fits. No need to cry."

Spencer was still sniffling, his arms wrapped protectively around himself. "No, we gotta go home."

"Bud, they'll work fine. If you really want we can go out and buy one that fits and then come back."

Spencer shook his head as more tears fell. "I don't want to swim anymore. I wanna go home."

Morgan's brows furrowed. "You don't want to swim? Why not? You were so excited before."

Spencer didn't answer, but let out a sob and slid to the ground, hugging and rocking himself. Morgan quickly moved forward and hauled the boy into his lap, shushing him.

"Is it because the bathing suit doesn't fit?" Spencer shook his head. "Okay… Is it because you are scared?" Another shake. "What about the boys? Do you not want to see Henry and Jack?"

At that, Spencer paused, and then nodded against his father's chest before letting out another sob. "Okay, okay. It's okay. Why don't you want to see them? You were looking forward to seeing them earlier."

Spencer mumbled something into his chest. "Speak up baby, I couldn't understand you."

He lifted his head, taking in a few jagged breaths before speaking quietly. "They're gonna hate me..."

"Bud, no. Both Henry and Jack really like you! They've been wanting to see you for a while. They like you a lot."

"But they're not gonna like me after they see me..." The boy whispered.

Morgan furrowed his brow in confusion, until it hit him. "You think they won't like you because of your scars?" He said in a gentle voice.

"They're gonna think I'm ugly! And, and a monster!" Spencer sobbed, burying his face back into Morgan's chest.

"Spencer, baby, look at me." After a minute, the boy lifted his head and made hesitant eye contact with Derek. "They will not think you're ugly or a monster. They love you, and they won't care. Your scars just tell your story, and show how strong you are. You shouldn't be ashamed or feel like you need to hide them. Okay?"

Spencer let out a small whine and fisted his eyes, but nodded anyway. The two stood up and Morgan rubbed the boy's back to comfort him.

"So are you okay to go swim?"

Spencer nodded, wiping off the last few tears he shed. "Uh huh."

"Good. I'm proud of you bud."

The two then made their way out of the locker room and out into the large play area, making sure to grab Mildred before leaving. Spencer hid himself behind his father, his arms wrapped protectively around his midsection. Almost immediately, two children came barreling towards the pair.

"Spencer!" Jack yelled as he got closer.

The two boys skidded to a stop, faces bright and smiling. "Spencer! You gotta come swim with us… what happened to you?" Henry asked, genuine concern painted on his face when he spotted his friend's torso.

Tears sprung up again in Spencer's eyes, and his arms tightened around him.

Jack's head tilted to the side, before he pointed to one of the many scars on Spencer's stomach. "My dad has the same kind of scar."

Spencer sniffled and looked down at his belly, at one of his freshest scars. It was from when The Man had stabbed him, right before his dad came to his rescue. "He does?"

"Dad!" Jack yelled behind him, and Hotch quickly came running. Before he could say anything, Jack pointed to one of the 9 scars littering his father's stomach and chest. "See? He's got tons of them. You guys match!"

Spencer's eyes widened when he saw the scars on Hotch. Jack was right, they were the same type of scar that he had from where he was stabbed. He moved forward and carefully ran his fingers over one of the scars. "Did you get stabbed by a bad man too?" He asked innocently.

Hotch flinched slightly at the memory. "Yes, I did. A long time ago."

Spencer just nodded, still dragging his fingertips across them. "My dad got them because he's a superhero! He's strong and brave! We call those his battle wounds." Jack said.

Spencer furrowed his brow. "Battle wounds?"

"Yup!" Jack said. "And you have battle wounds too! Does that mean you're like a superhero too?"

Spencer started shaking his head no, but Morgan answered for him. "He is. He's super brave and strong. And those are his battle wounds from when he fought and won against a really bad man."

"That's so cool!" Henry exclaimed.

Spencer tilted his head to the side and dropped his arms to his sides. "You don't think they're ugly?"

"No, the ones on your back kinda look like tiger stripes!" Henry exclaimed, pointing to Spencer's many scars from the whip.

Spencer's brows furrowed. "Oh…"

"What's that?" Jack asked, pointing to the toy in Derek's hand.

Jack's question pulled Spencer out of his thoughts. He took the toy from his dad and held it out in front of him to show his two friends. "This is Mildred." He said quietly. "She's an octopus."

"Cool!" Henry exclaimed. "Can we go swim now? You can bring Mildred!"

Spencer nodded, a smile quickly forming on his face. Henry quickly grabbed his hand and they speeded off towards the pool, Jack running after them.

"No running near the pool!" Hotch yelled to them, and the three slowed down to a speed walk. He shook his head in amusement before turning to Derek.

"Trouble getting him to show his scars?" Hotch asked.

Morgan let out a sigh. "Yeah. He was worried Jack and Henry would hate him." He paused, taking a quick glance down at his superior's torso. "I think you helped a lot."

"Well I try not to hide them in situations like these. I think it's good for Jack to know that scars are nothing to be embarrassed about." Hotch said.

Derek smiled at Hotch's response. "You're a great man Hotch. And an even better dad."

"So are you Morgan." He clapped him on the shoulder before starting towards the pool. "Now let's go make sure the kids actually behave."

Morgan chuckled before following after him.
