Prologue
I was falling, falling into a dark cold hole that never seemed to end. As I was falling I kept thinking that it was never going to end until I just ... wasn't falling anymore. It was like I was floating on nothing, but I couldn't move; i was paralyzed.
I screamed hoping for something to happen, anything but nothing but darkness surrounded me and as I screamed one final time, the darkness enveloped me and I woke up, the feeling of water soaking into my clothes.
As I opened my eyes, there my stood my 14 year-old sister, a bucket in hand, laughing at my unfortunate self.
"Ella , you are so dead". I said in a deadly calm voice and smiled at her sweetly " I'll give you 5 seconds" and she ran.
Giving her exactly five seconds, I ran and tackled her to the floor, a loud squeal resounding from her. "Max, get off your sister!" My mother yelled from downstairs.
I huffed clambering off of her, and going downstairs and into the kitchen, greeting my mom.
I grabbed a box of cereal and sat at the kitchen table reaching into the cereal box and grabbing a handful."Max, what have I told you?" My mother looked disapprovingly.
I smiled at her and shrugged as ella entered the kitchen. I turned my head and glared at ella. "So why'd you do that anyway you buttmunch?"
"Mom told me to wake you up, you didn't, therefore a bucket of water worked well" She smirked at me.
" Why didn't you just push me out of bed , it works on you!" I said exasperated but laughing. Ella glared at me, and then went to grab whatever rabbit food, she could get her hands on. I stood up, setting the cereal box on the table and walking out of the kitchen. "Max!" I groaned and came back into the kitchen to put the cereal away.
Today was going to be a long day.
