Hey guys! I know I'm in the middle of two other stories, but when inspiration hits, you gotta take action! This is just a one-shot. It's a Sendrick story, not Bechloe, since I love them too! Here we go! Also, I'm going to try 3rd person! Tell me what you think in the reviews!

Anna Kendrick was laying in bed, scrolling through Twitter when she got the text from Britt.

Hey, I have some news.

Immediately, she goes into panic mode. There are a million different things this message could mean, ranging from good to terrible. Reminding herself not to freak out, she slowly types out her answer.

Yeah?

Her breath catches in her throat when the answer comes in. I'm sick.

What do you mean, sick? She quickly sends back, running her hands through her hair and sitting up. Is it...?

Yeah, it is. Brittany texts back, laying on the couch with a heavy blanket and a table full of different medications that aren't helping. She's imagining how upset Kendrick must be right now, considering how close they are. She doesn't want to tell her how bad it is, but she knows she can't keep it from her either. Kendrick's her best friend, and the only person she's ever truly been in love with, other than Tyler. She knows she doesn't feel the same, but one can pine.

I'm coming over. As soon as the text comes in, Brittany starts to panic a little herself. There's no way Kendrick can come over. Not with the pandemic, not with the virus she currently has.

No way in hell. Kendrick scoffs when the message comes back. She doesn't care if Britt doesn't want her to go over. Deep down, she understands that it's not technically safe for her to go, but she doesn't care. Nothing matters other than making sure the girl she's loved for the past 8 years is ok. Especially after Tyler left her in May.

Brittany Snow, listen to me. I'm. Coming. Over. As soon as she hits send, she quickly tears her shirt and sweatpants off, pulling on a pair of jeans, a purple t-shirt, and some black vans.

No. Britt sighs on the other end, which leads to a fit of painful coughing. She knows Kendrick's relentless, but she can't expose her to what she has, no matter how selfishly she wants her by her side right now.

Too late. See you soon. Don't worry, I'll wear a mask. She turns her phone off so she can't see Britt's response. All she cares about right now is being there for her best friend, no matter how dangerous it is for her.

"Dammit!" She mutters to herself, grabbing her wallet, keys, and mask before heading out the door.

The drive to Brittany's house is quick, considering the light traffic and the fact that Kendrick's driving about 20 miles over the speed limit. All she knows is that she needs to get to Britt as soon as she possibly can. Before... but no. She won't let herself think like that. There's no way it's going to happen. She knows how strong her best friend is; she'll fight through it.

On the other hand, Britt feels like it takes forever for Kendrick to get there. She texted her earlier to warn her not to come, but of course, it got no response. She can just imagine the look on her face right now, as she's presumably driving down the highway. She can see the way her brow would be furrowed with worry. She can see how she would be biting her bottom lip.

Once she gets to Britt's house, Kendrick powers her phone back on to text Brittany. Ignoring the previous plea for her not to come, she texts, Where is your spare key?

I'm not telling you. Britt texts back, doing her best to ignore the way her heart leaps when she hears the beep from Kenrick's car when she locks it.

Fuck, Britt, don't do this to me. Kendrick groans, going through things on the porch. She looks in flower pots, under the mat, under yard ornaments, but can't find anything.

It's not out there anyway. Brittany lies. She knows it's under the coaster on the table, but she won't tell her. She has to protect Anna, even if it means lying to her. She hates herself for it, but she knows it's what's best.

Fine, I'll pick the lock.

Despite knowing she's serious, Brittany smiles at this. You do it and I'm suing you.

Sue me then. Kendrick quickly texts back, pulling a bobby pin out of her hair, her bun falling out into loose waves behind her back in the process. She bends it so that it lays mostly flat, then sticks the point with the ball in the keyhole. After fidgeting for a minute, she hears a small click. She grins to herself momentarily before cracking the door open.

Brittany sighs when she hears Kendrick open the door. There's not much she can do at this point, but she's definitely regretting telling her. She's not exactly surprised at Anna's actions, but she is a little upset. She's also irrationally happy, but she refuses to let Kendrick know that.

"Britt?" Kenrick tentatively calls out into the hallway, taking her shoes off and slipping her mask over her face at the door. "Don't worry, I'm masked. Where are you?"

Well, here goes nothing, Britt thinks before calling out, "Living room."

Anna's heart breaks at the broken, raspy sound of Britt's voice. Over the years, she's fallen in love with her sweet, soft voice. To hear her so gravelly, so sick, is devastating. "Don't worry, I'm coming."

"P-please don-" Britt starts to call out, but is cut off by a coughing fit that has her doubled over and tears rolling down her face. It's in this position that Anna finds her, and she quickly rushes over to her, kneeling in front of her on the floor and grasping Britt's hands in hers. She doesn't say anything, and it's Brittany who speaks first, once she's done coughing (for the moment, that is).

"I told you not to come."

Kendrick tries not to let the hurt color her voice as she responds. "I know." It comes out a barely audible whisper, but Britt hears it.

"Why did you come then?" Brittany whispers, leaning back and pulling her hands away from Kendrick's. As much as she wishes she could hold her hands forever, she knows she's putting her in more danger than she already is.

"Because I can't leave you alone right now. I..." She cuts off, redirecting. "You're my best friend, Britt."

Despite the situation, Brittany can't help the smile that spreads across her face, again choosing to ignore what Anna may or may not have almost said. "And you're mine, Kendrick." Turning serious, she adds, "Which is exactly why I need you to leave. I need you here, alive and well when I get better."

Anna just rolls her eyes, fighting the ball of worry manifesting in the pit of her stomach. Not worry for herself, necessarily, but worry for her best friend and love of her life. "And I will be after I make sure you stay alive." She moves a hand up to Britt's forehead, wincing against how badly she's burning up. "Come on, lay back down."

Britt lays back down with Anna's help, another small fit of coughs erupting. Kendrick rubs her back soothingly until it's over. Even with the mask, Brittany can see the worried smile she's donning. "I'm ok." She whispers, leaning all the way down onto the pillows and letting out a heavy breath of relief.

"No, you're not." Kendrick shakes her head, standing up. "I'm gonna make you some soup. Well, the broth, not the actual soup." She adds at Britt's worried look.

"Ok." Britt gives her a small smile before closing her eyes again, suddenly feeling exhausted. She knows it's part of the symptoms, but it's still annoying and inconvenient. Kendrick just smiles back for a minute before going into Brittany's kitchen, looking in cupboards until she finds a can of soup. After another minute of looking, she finds the strainer, a bowl, and a spoon. She puts the strainer over the bowl and pours the soup into the strainer, letting the broth go into the bowl. She puts the remains of the soup back in the can and pushes it to the side, deciding she'll deal with it later.

"Here." Anna walks back in with the bowl once it's heated up. She stops though when she realizes that Brittany's asleep. Sighing, she turns back around and puts the bowl back on the counter. When she gets back in the living room, she sits on the floor in front of Brittany, grabbing her hand and leaning her head back against her legs.

Brittany has no clue how long it's been when she wakes up again. She carefully sits up, then hears a grunt as Kendrick's head falls off her legs and onto the floor. Anna jolts awake with a yelp, causing Britt to wince with pain. "You're still here." She whispers, and Anna turns to look at her.

"Of course I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere until you get better. Even if it means I have to live here for a while." Anna's eyes crinkle around the edges in a smile, sending Britt's heart aflutter.

"I really wish you would." Britt responds. Immediately, Kendrick's face falls.

"Do you not want me?" She whispers, not entirely noticing the full meaning behind her word choice.

Brittany, however, does notice. "No, Anna, that's not what I meant. I meant I don't want you to catch this virus because of me." After a minute, she adds for good measure, "Or at all. It's a bitch."

"I can tell." Kendrick chuckles, despite everything. "And nothing you say is going to make me leave."

Brittany cracks a mischievous grin. "Not even if I told you I hated you and that I wished to never see you again."

Anna takes a minute to really think through her answer before giving it. "I mean, my ego would be wounded, sure. So... I'd make sure you got better, then I'd leave and probably disappear off the face of the planet." She jokes.

"Ouch, probably not a good idea then, seeing as I need you." Brittany means it to be a joke, but once it's admitted out loud, she realizes it sounds a lot more serious than she intended. Much to her relief, though, Kendrick just smiles again.

"Good, because I need you too." More than you know, Anna mutters to herself, hoping Britt doesn't hear it.

Brittany does hear it, though. Right as she opens her mouth to say something, a sharp pain lashes at her skull, and she winces in pain, her eyes filling with tears. Kendrick immediately sees it and sits up straighter, worried. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, yeah. Headache." Britt mutters, looking away as she wipes the tears out of her eyes. If there's one thing she hates more than anything, it's crying in front of her friends. More Anna than anyone, really. She hates seeming more vulnerable than she'd like to be. She also doesn't want Kendrick to know how much physical and emotional pain she's currently in.

"Let me get you something." Anna stands up, then turns and sees all the empty pill bottles on the coffee table. "Uhhh..." She sighs, "Do you want me to run out and get you something?"

Brittany frantically shakes her head. "No, don't go."

Anna raises an eyebrow at her. "I thought you wanted me to leave, Snow."

Brittany gives her a slight glare as she answers. "I did. But I don't want you spreading this time to anyone, either."

Kendrick, with a grin, exclaims, "Did. Meaning, you want me to stay now?"

Britt sighs in defeat. "Whatever, Kendrick."

Anna raises a fist in the air, laughing at the reference. "FINALLY! You admit you want me!" This time, she does catch the double-innuendo of her words, and both of the women freeze.

Brittany's the first one to break the silence, her words surprising both Kendrick and herself. "Of course I want you." She then grabs Anna's face delicately. "I've always wanted you."

Anna's breath catches in her throat. "W-what?"

Britt immediately backs off, thinking she's done something wrong. "Nothing, nothing. Just... pretend I didn't say that. God, I'm such a fuck up, I'm so sorry." She looks away from Kendrick as tears fall down her face, this time more from the emotional pain than the physical.

"No, Britt, talk to me. That wasn't nothing." Anna takes Brittany's face in her hands and gently turns her to look at her, her thumbs wiping the tears off of the younger actress's cheeks.

Brittany sighs. It's all or nothing now. "I'm in love with you, Anna Kendrick." She whispers, her voice crackling in the process.

Anna's face lights up like a kid on Christmas as the words fall out of the love of her life's mouth. "Oh my GOD, that's such a relief." She closes her eyes and leans back against the couch, smiling up at a very confused Brittany. "I love you so fucking much it's killing me."

Brittany's eyes flash to Anna's lips momentarily before reminding herself that she can't kiss Kendrick, no matter how badly she wants to. Anna sees it though and decides to ignore it; she rips the mask off her face and presses her lips to Britt's.

Brittany immediately tries to push her off, but Anna mutters, "I'm already contaminated, so what's the point? You can't save me anymore." And she kisses Brittany again. This time, though, Britt doesn't try to push her off. Instead, she kisses her back with everything she is, ignoring the worry in her stomach and the pain in her whole body as she pulls Anna up against her.

"What if I don't survive this?" She asks once they finally pull away, Britt gasping from the lack of oxygen, causing Kendrick to feel a little guilty.

"You're gonna survive this. We both will, together." Anna says, grabbing her hands and pulling her in for another sweet, slow kiss.
