Story Summary: NON CANNON Set after end of season. A woman and her ill father move in to the house next door to Jax. Carly's father grew up in Charming and wanted to come back to live out the last of his days. Carly needs support in a town where she knows no one. Jax is without his wife, his kids, and his mother. Is shared loneliness enough to build a relationship on for two people so different?
Set after end of series. NON CANNON. Jax has not died. Wendy and Nero are raising the boys in Mexico for their safety. Jax is still the president of SAMCRO.
Jax sat in his backyard smoking a cigarette. He checked his watch again. Visiting hours at the hospital ended at nine. It was quarter after now. Carly should be home any minute. He yearned to see her. To hold her. He wanted to know how she was, how her dad was. He felt invested in her now. Like she needed him. It was nice to feel needed.
He put his cigarette out when he saw her headlights pull into the driveway. He waited her out as she made her way through the house. Sure enough, the backyard light went on, the door opened, and the dog came running out.
He made his way over quickly. Kenya ran up to him and he gave her a good rubdown. He eyed Carly standing just outside the door.
"I never heard from you." He greeted her with.
"No, I'm sorry. I was gonna call you in a minute."
Jax stepped up to her and gave her a chaste kiss on the lips. "Call me to come over?" He smirked at her.
She gave him a small smile back. "To thank you, for this morning. Any other guy, well, any other guy wouldn't have given me a ride home. But they especially wouldn't have tucked me into bed. Not without joining me."
"That's not what you needed this morning." He assured her, and swept her hair behind her ears. "How is he?"
"Not good. His kidneys shut down, just like they were afraid they would. He got dialysis this afternoon. The doctor says there's still a chance they could start to function again. But…I guess I'm a glass half empty kind of girl."
Jax nodded his head and ran his hands up Carly's arms to her biceps. He held her gently. "I'm so sorry, Carly."
Carly nodded her head. "I appreciate you being here." She admitted.
"Whatever you need." He promised her.
She grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him closer. "Make me forget, for a little bit." She requested.
"Happy to oblige." He whispered, and kissed her; gently at first, before taking her deeper.
She opened the door behind her and they stepped inside. The dog ran past them into the house and Jax locked the door behind him.
She led him back to her room through the dark house, both of them kissing, touching, undressing each other. By the time they got in the room she was naked, he was in nothing but his jeans and she made quick work of getting them off of him.
He stood for a moment just running his hands up and down her body, enjoying the soft warm skin. She surprised him by guiding him down on the bed and straddling him. She took him right in and began to ride him. Her hands on his chest, his hands quickly finding her hips.
He held on to her, able to do little else, as she rode him to her own release. She came with a moan and a whisper of his name on a curse. She bent over to kiss him and he flipped them over. He stayed inside her, thrusting gently, smoothly, slowly, as he kissed her. He could spend hours kissing her. Her lips felt like magic against his.
He held her head in both of his hands as he kissed her. As the pressure and need in him increased he let go with one hand, running it along her side, caressing her breast. He increased his pace and she met him movement for movement, her hips bucking beneath him. He came with his own groan and stilled on top of her, taking a moment to steal one last long slow kiss.
He rolled off of her and pulled her into his side. He glanced down at her in the moonlight coming through the blinds. She looked peaceful as she closed her eyes on his shoulder. He stroked her arm with his thumb and grabbed her hand resting on his chest, entwining their fingers.
Jax awoke to light streaming into the room. She needed curtains, badly. His thumb moved on its own accord, stroking back and forth on Carly's arm. She stirred, and fought waking up, burying her head in his shoulder. He grinned and kissed the top of her head.
When she woke, she smiled at him. She rolled herself free to the flat of her back and arched her back, stretching out. Jax watched as the move pushed her breasts up higher. He rolled over, trapping her under him and kissed her long and hard.
"Good morning." He started.
"Morning."
He raised himself up on his elbows and stared into her eyes. He ran his eyes over her face and gave her another smile.
"You're beautiful." He whispered.
Carly crinkled her nose at him and raised a hand to her hair.
"I have bed head."
"No." He ran a hand along the side of her face. "You're gorgeous."
He slipped down her body and took a nipple in his mouth. He was gentle as he slowly brought her to arousal. She arched and ran her hands through his hair, whispering curses. He ran his tongue down her stomach and lifted her left leg. He placed wet kisses on her inner thigh as he threw her leg over his shoulder and slipped inside her.
She gasped at the contact and he set a steady pace. He turned his head to the side to continue kissing her lower thigh and lowered his thumb to her core. He watched the pressure build in her. She ran her hands along her own body, over her breasts, up her neck, into her hair, and back down again.
When she came, he moved her leg to the side and laid down behind her, thrusting into her still, his hands finding her breasts. She rested her hands over his, urging him to explore her breasts. He kissed her shoulder, the back of her neck, her temple. When he was close, he rested his forehead against the back of her head and drove himself into her, releasing into her on a burst of adrenalin.
They laid still for several moments, catching their breath. Their fingers intertwined on the top of Carly's breasts. He gave her a last kiss on the shoulder and rolled onto his back. She scooted to sit on the edge of the bed.
"It's eight." She said with a groan.
"Shit." Jax responded.
"Work?" She asked him.
"Yeah."
"Grab a shower. I'll throw some food together." She offered. She retrieved her night shirt from the floor and pulled it over her head as she left the room. He blew out a breath before getting up himself.
Jax stood under the strong stream of the shower. He had already used Carly's soap, and he smelled of her. It would drive him crazy all day. He washed his hair with her shampoo as well. This one smelled of flowers, and he thought of her hair. That led to thinking of his hand knotted in her hair, which led to thoughts of what he could do to her tonight.
He got out and dried off in the bathroom. He ran his fingers through his wet hair. His clothes were in a pile on the bed. She must have retrieved them from the hallway floor. He checked the time again and got dressed quickly. He strolled into the kitchen and saw Carly, in her night shirt, cooking at the stove. The image warmed his heart. It was so…domestic. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her torso, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"I made scrambled." She commented, stirring the eggs in the pan. "Do you like cheese in them?"
"Sure." He stepped back as she turned to the fridge and he walked over to the toaster, pressing down the lever. Making breakfast after superior morning sex was relaxing. If only he could take her back to bed after this.
She dished out the eggs and grabbed the toast as it popped. Jax filled coffee mugs from the full pot and joined her at the table. They ate in silence. A comfortable silence. Jax smirked as Carly fed Kenya some egg. The dog lapped it up.
"What's your plan for the day?" He asked as he finished eating.
"Go in, check on dad, stay for a few hours. See if I can track down a doctor to talk to. Probably come home in the afternoon, go back and spend the evening." She shrugged as she finished her toast.
"You should take some time for yourself. Unpack your room." He suggested.
"Yeah." She nodded her head. "As bad as it sounds, I have a lot more free time with him in the hospital. What about you? Work all day?"
"Yeah. There's a party tonight. Every Friday night. I'll go for a few hours."
Carly nodded her head and cleared their plates from the table.
"You could stop by, hang out for a bit, have a drink. I know you said you don't like parties…but…If you want to get out of the house."
Carly smiled at him. "No thanks. But after, if you're up to it. You could come over."
"Oh." Jax got up and walked towards her. "I'll be up for it." He said suggestively and took hold of her neck. He kissed her and ran his other hand up her thigh, under her shirt. She was still naked under it and he groaned, caressing her ass.
"Jesus." He swore. "I have to go." He leaned in and kissed her one more time. "Thanks for breakfast."
"No problem."
Jax was leaning head first into a Chevy pickup when Tig kicked the tire of the car he was working on and walked away from it. As he passed by Jax he took a few steps backwards.
"You smell like girly soap." He pointed at Jax.
Jax stood up out of the truck and cracked his back.
"You used girly soap this morning." Tig continued, getting the attention of the other men in the shop.
"Yeah, what's it to you?" Jax asked.
"Who is she? Why don't we know about her?" He egged his president on.
"She's a girl. And you don't know because I didn't tell you."
"Jax, you got yourself a girlfriend?" Ratboy asked him, joining Tig.
"I have a girl." He wasn't ready to give his relationship that label yet.
"So….." Tig continued to egg him on.
"So, I have a girl." Jas sighed and lit a cigarette. This teasing could go on forever.
"How'd you meet her, who is she?" Montez asked, getting pulled into the conversation.
"Her ah…her dog ran into my yard." Jax told the truth.
"Aww, she has a dog." Tig mocked him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "You're showering at her place; means you spent the night. She must be a good lay. How's she look?"
"She's gorgeous." Jax said quietly and Chibs caught the look in his eye.
"You're hooked Jackie boy."
"No, just ah…having a good time." That was a lie. He was the happiest he had been in months.
Carly listened to the doctor tell her her father's kidneys had shut down completely. He explained how dialysis would work. That they would get him on a schedule with the center. All she heard was that he had less than a year to live. It echoed in her head.
When she left the hospital shortly after lunch she went home and pulled out her laptop. She researched everything on kidney failure. The special diet, measuring your fluids, the extra medication. The port in her father's chest was scheduled to go in next week. By the time it healed…he may never actually use it.
A man his age, with his other health ailments. Less than a year to live turned into 6 months. Carly slapped her laptop closed and curled up in her bed. She hugged the pillow Jax had used last night. She inhaled his scent and thought of his hands on her.
She liked having someone she could lean on. But she felt like she was leaning too hard on him. They were just having sex. Great, mind blowing, sex. That didn't mean he was there to listen to her every problem. She told herself that as she fiddled with her phone. She wanted to text him and tell him the news she had gotten today.
No. He was at work. They weren't in a relationship. They weren't even dating. Her problems weren't his problems. She attempted to pull away from him mentally, even as she hugged his pillow closer.
