Chapter Thirteen – The Creeps

The Sandbox

After the wedding, the DX family retreated to the Sandbox and by the time the Black Heart Family had gotten out of Clearwater Baptist Church, it was Sunday and the wedding reception was over. They had failed to crash the wedding reception and Jeff Hardy tried to convince Stephanie that it was a sign that maybe they should stop going after DX. Stephanie wouldn't hear it but Beth Hardy was glad to hear that her father was starting to come around. Even Charlotte Flair was softening after seeing Finn Balor's face healed by the healing balm t hat Bianca Belair gave her. You'd think that after having his face healed Finn would also soften in his attitude towards DX and the God girls but no; Finn was like Stephanie and they were more determined than ever to get back at DX.

The notorious DX were far from Florida now, they were back in Connecticut and the whole family would soon be getting ready to go to church.

As Hunter entered the Sandbox, his ears pricked up. Something wasn't right.

"What's wrong babe?" Chyna asked him as the DX family plus Seth, Sasha and Abiyah Rollins came into the Sandbox.

"Guys, I don't think we're alone," Hunter said and Sasha furrowed her brow.

"Well, I need to put Abiyah down," she said stepping towards the staircase. As she put a foot on the first step, the sound of something creeping across the floor got her attention and she stopped moving.

Seth came over to her, "Take the baby to the nursery," Sasha said handing Abiyah to Seth.

"What are you going to do?" Seth asked as he headed to the nursery but he heard something creeping along the ground the next level up. "Come Shawl," Seth said calling to his prayer shawl and Shawl swept him off his feet as he headed to the North Wing of the Sandbox.

"I think we could all do with a flying prayer shawl right now," LC Michaels said and Aurora started to get icy,

"There's something in the Sandbox Dad," Aurora said to her father and Hunter nodded.

"Why do you think I'm still standing here?" Hunter replied. "What has your mother done this time?"

Shawn and Amy Michaels looked around, they knew something was there but they just couldn't see it.

Remi and RJ Orton went into the family room while LC and Cameron went into the kitchen. In each room, every member of the DX family got a creepy feeling and Faith Star jumped on Chyna's back.

"What is it Nana Jo?" she asked and Chyna shrugged.

"I don't know," Chyna said walking around carefully; she felt like she was going to step on something. She didn't know how right she was.

"BUGS!!" Sasha cried out from the top of the stairs and everyone looked as an army of bugs crawled over each room in the Sandbox. They were Kendrick Alexander's robot bugs and they were moving very fast.

"YARGH!!" Aurora cried out and her Gift from God activated as she saw thousands of these robot bugs crawling around the DX mansion. Her supernatural Gift allowed her to use extreme weather to her advantage and she pointed her hands at the bugs and tried to freeze them.

"It's working!!" Hunter said delighted as the bugs started to freeze and Aurora froze as many of them as she could, including the ones on the upper level of the Sandbox.

"They're all over the house!" LC said running with Aurora throught every room in the compound.

"Dad, do you really think Mom had something todo with this?!" Aurora called to her father who was right with her.

"No," Hunter said shaking his head. "I've seen these things before, I know who did this and it wasn't your mother,"

"Then who was it?" LC asked her Dad.

"Yeah, tell me so I can freeze her too!" Aurora said after freezing her last bug.

The other members of the DX family came up to Aurora, "Did you get them all?" Cameron asked his sister-in-law.

Aurora looked at Sasha, "Are they in the nursery?" she asked Sasha Rollins.

"No, Seth said he didn't see any," Sasha replied.

"Good, so she's not a monster," Hunter said.

"Who's not a monster?" Aurora asked her father.

"Kendrick Alexander, Hayworth's ex-girlfriend," Hunter said and Aurora clenched her jaw angrily.

"Where's she at? I need to give her a face-to-face warning to make sure she keeps her distance," Aurora said.

"She's enrolled at Harvard, she does all this special weapons and tactics stuff for the government," Shawn said. "She must have a reason for doing this,"

"Of course she does; she's dating Kenny Omega, who is friends with Finn Balor, who got kicked out of the wedding reception along with Stephanie and Bayley. It all goes back to Steph," Hunter said and Sasha noticed the ice Aurora had used to freeze the bugs was starting to melt.

"Guys, I don't think these bugs are going to stay frozen much longer. We have to destroy them or get that mad scientist to come and get them out of here. I have a baby living here I cannot have these things crawling all around," Sasha said and the DX family went around to see all the bugs starting to move again.

"Do you think they're poisonous? Those spiders Kendrick Alexander created before were poisonous," Shawn said.

"I don't really want to find out, do you?!" Sasha replied and she removed one of her blue gloves and pointed her hand at one of the bugs, electrocuting it.

Aurora and LC looked closely at the bug, "I'm pretty sure that thing's destroyed now," Aurora said. "Do you think you could do that a million more times?" she asked Sasha.

"Anything to keep my baby boy safe," Sasha replied and she looked at Hunter, "Could you tell Seth I'm using Blue Thunder on these creepy things? Also, we have to get to the bottom of this or I'm taking my son and we're outta here,"

As Sasha went around using Blue Thunder on all the bugs, Hunter scratched his head on the way to the North Wing. "Maybe that's the whole point," he thought, "to get Sasha, Seth and Abiyah out of the house."

He went to find Seth and tell him what he had on his mind; Hunter figured that there was more to this bug invasion than met the eye.
