Chapter Fifteen – City Talk
Manhattan, New York City, New York
Alexa Bliss held onto Becky Lynch's leather jacket sleeve as they walked towards the 21 Club where Finn Balor, Kenny Omega, Kendrick Alexander, AJ Styles, Beth Hardy and Charlotte Flair were waiting for them. Becky was hesitant to join their adversaries for lunch but Bliss was feeling particularly bold after seeing the look on Charlotte's face when Finn Balor's face was healed by Bianca's healing balm. The Queen looked as though she wanted to come over to their side after seeing the healing power of God in action. It wasn't Charlotte that Becky was concerned about though, it was the other people sitting at the table at the 21 Club.
"I feel like we're walking right into the lion's den," Becky said, her face was tense and she was in her Gift of Flight mode.
Bliss gave her a reassuring smile, "Do you remember what happened when Daniel was in the lion's den?" Alexa asked Becky who shrugged.
"Actually no, I've kinda slipped on my Bible study since Seth and Sasha had Abiyah," Becky said and Bliss shook her head.
"Seth's not going to be happy to hear that. God shut the lion's mouth so that Daniel didn't get eaten," Bliss said. "Even if we are about to walk into some trouble, we're going to walk out looking just as good as we do right now,"
"Your confidence is infectious," Becky said feeling bolstered by Alexa's faith, "that's not what concerns me though,"
"Spill it Bex, what's on your mind?" Alexa asked Becky as they walked into the 21 Club.
"I'm worried that if Stephanie walks into this place and comes anywhere near me, I might slug her," Becky said. "Just knowing what evil that woman is capable of when she puts her mind to it, it just makes my skin crawl. There are few people I hate on sight but Finn and Stephanie are definitely two of them,"
"Well, the last thing Seth wants is for you to do something stupid if Stephanie shows up, that should be enough to keep you in check. We're on assignment remember? This isn't your personal mission Becky, the only thing you have to do, is the will of God. Think about what God wants you to do to fulfill this mission and the Gifts He has given you to do it. God didn't tell you to hate anyone," Alexa said.
"You're right, He didn't; I did that all by myself," Becky confessed, "I guess there's still a lot of the old me walking up and down in this body, thank God I've got you to keep me in check Bliss,"
"Hey, that's what friends are for. Now let's go do this thing before we go to the Sandbox and check on the Braid," Bliss said and they asked to be seated with Charlotte Flair.
They were led to the middle of the restaurant where Charlotte Flair was sat with AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Beth Hardy, Kenny Omega and Kendrick Alexander.
Charlotte waved them over, she was actually happy to see them which was the first indication that something was happening with her, something good.
"Hey guys, come on sit down. Help yourself to some olives," Charlotte said and Finn Balor gave Becky a mischievous grin as she sat down with a very composed look on her face.
"I want to stick him with this fork," Becky said to Bliss as she sat down.
Alexa gave Becky's hand a supportive squeeze; it might as looked as though Becky was sitting on a very well upholstered chair but she was doing an even better job of sitting on her true feelings towards Finn Balor.
Kendrick Alexander cast a roving eye in Bliss and Becky's direction, the middle of her curly blond bang covering one side of her face while a curious thumb pressed against her scarlet red lips.
"You two look great," she complimented them both.
"So do you Professor," Bliss said and Becky nodded; Kendrick Alexander was stunning as always.
"Why on Earth would you waste all of that talent on Kenny Omega?" Becky Lynch asked Kendrick and Alexa elbowed her in the side. "What? It's like she lost a bet,"
Everyone apart from Alexa laughed at Becky's comment.
"You're right Charlotte, she's so charming. I can see why you wanted to hang out with her today," Kenny Omega said, he hadn't taken offence to her comment at all.
Bliss and Becky exchanged suspicious glances, "Why are you guys being so nice to us?" Bliss said.
"We've got some serious business to talk to you about, especially about what happened over at the Sandbox," Becky said as the waiter poured her and Alexa a glass of water. "Since when are you working for Stephanie McMahon?" she asked Kendrick Alexander.
"Since she promised to fund my animal robotics project at Harvard," Kendrick replied.
"Not to mention support me when I get called up to the main roster," Kenny Omega added and Becky and Bliss furrowed their brows.
"Stephanie doesn't even work for the WWE anymore, she can't do anything for your career," Becky replied and Finn and Kenny laughed at her.
"Do you really think you can keep Stephanie McMahon out of the WWE?" Finn said mockingly, "It's not like you to be so naïve Becky,"
Becky's fingers tightened under the table but Beth Hardy quickly came to the rescue.
"She's not naïve Finn, she just became the first ever NXT World Heavyweight Champion," Beth reminded Finn and Becky smiled to herself.
Finn squeezed Beth on the shoulder and drew a little closer to her gently, "I'm sorry, you're right," he said and Beth blushed much to Becky's consternation. Seeing the aggravated look on Becky's face, Bliss squeezed Becky's hand under the table.
"Keep it together, don't let him get to you," Alexa said and Becky tried to calm down and turn her attention back to the mission.
"So what's with the bugs Kendrick? How did you even get them into the Sandbox?" Becky asked Kendrick.
"They have trackers on them, I just put in the address to the Sandbox and sent them on their way," Kendrick said.
"But Bianca wasn't even there, how did you expect them to find the jewels?" Becky asked.
"I knew the DX family would be there because they were going to be there after the HayMac wedding," Kendrick said suddenly getting a knot in her throat at the mention of the wedding she was not invited to. "If they didn't get the jewels from Bianca, there were still the other jewels held by the DX family children,"
"Plus, it was only a matter of time before Bianca showed up at the Sandbox. Seth doesn't go anywhere without his Treasurer of Secrets," Finn said and Becky tried to calm down, even though everytime Finn spoke, she found herself fantasizing about really, really hurting him.
"I'm surprised Sasha can even stand her being there," AJ Styles said.
"Sasha's not the jealous type," Becky replied.
"It's more that Sasha knows it's better when she's around. It's not really a good idea to be seperated from Bianca Belair. You guys are about to find that out firsthand," Finn Balor said darkly and Bliss and Becky exchanged glances.
Kendrick put her phone down and turned to Balor, "The lab's ready. If you're gonna do this thing, do it now," she said and Finn nodded before turning to Beth.
"You're up," he said to his pretend girlfriend and Beth Hardy gave Bliss and Becky an apologetic look.
"I'm so sorry guys but I told my Mom I wouldn't screw this up for her," she said.
"What are you talking about?" Becky said but before she could get an answer, Beth Hardy Transcended Bliss and Becky to a Harvard lab that they could not get out of.
"Great job Beth," Finn said hugging a forlon Beth to himself, "your Ma will be so proud of you,"
"Now if Bianca and Seth want Becky and Bliss to make it though the night, Bianca will give up those jewels immediately," Kendrick Alexander said and Beth Hardy gulped realising that she might have just signed Becky and Bliss's death warrant, just to make her mother happy.
