A/N #2: The title of this story and the chapter are lyrics from the song Las Brisas written by Ringo Starr and Nancy Andrews, from Ringo's album Ringo's Rotogravure though I translated the words starless night in the lyrics into Spanish for the story title.
Oh, Penumbra
The figures were still in the night, branches slightly swaying in the light wind before they did the same. Their many faces were different, but they all stared, looking sightlessly at their surroundings.
The footsteps at first were rapid before they slowed down, and another figure was walking among the trees. Looking around them they took in everything the others might see if their eyes were real and they stopped, closing their own eyes. Taking a deep breath, they were soon calmed, letting the breeze come over them entirely before they heard the giggle.
A bright smile on their own face, they saw the figures in front of them and they started to jog down the path calling, "Wait for me!"
As they followed the other three, they heard a voice in the night, starless, inky blackness surrounding the isle before they ran to return to the others.
"Julia…"
