Chapter Twenty One – Drama in the Bahamas

Honeymoon Suite, Intercontinental Hotel, Nassau, Bahamas

Hayworth shook his head while MacKenzie told him what happened to her wedding ring. The ring was chosen by Hayworth's parents which made it a DX ring. It didn't take Hayworth long to notice that this was not the ring currently adorning his wife's finger.

"So, Bianca came over to me after the wedding and told me not to take the ring on our honeymoon," MacKenzie explained. "She even said that one of the reasons Seth asked Alexa to use Beauty Sleep on the Black Heart Family was so that they didn't steal the ring during the ceremony,"

Hayworth had a feeling he was really going to hate what he was about to hear, still the past few days were enough to keep him smiling. His honeymoon had gone better than he ever imagined and he knew he wouldn't forget it. Hayworth knew MacKenzie in a way that no-one else ever would, add that to the fact that he loved her and he was experiencing a level of happiness he didn't even knew existed. It seemed that Seth and the God girls had gone to a lot of trouble to make sure his wedding went off without a hook.

"So Seth and the God girls did everything they could to keep the Black Hearts out of the wedding to keep the ring safe," Hayworth said and MacKenzie nodded. "So where is the wedding ring now?"

"Faith Star has it, she's keeping it safe. Stephanie can't touch her," MacKenzie said and Hayworth took her hand and looked down at the substitute wedding ring. It was beautiful but it wasn't the ring that he gave her.

"Do you realise what you signed up for? Having to swap out your wedding ring because my father's ex-wife is obsessed with having anything with a DX jewel in it?" Hayworth said and MacKenzie nodded with a smile.

"Yeah, I knew what I was getting myself into Hayworth. I have lived two decades of DX family drama, it's not going to stop us from being happy. It'll just be the background noise of our lives, our very happy lives," MacKenzie said and she wrapped her arms around Hayworth and they kissed each other lovingly.

A few moments later, Hayworth broke the kiss and looked at his wife seriously, "I want you to wear the ring," he said firmly.

"But it's too dangerous, Stephanie will come after us, we'll never have a moment's peace," MacKenzie argued.

"Well Mac, maybe that's the price we have to pay for being part of the DX family. If Stephanie wants to bring it, we'll just have to fight back, just like the rest of my family," Hayworth said. "When we leave the Bahamas, we'll go the Sandbox and get the ring from Faith Star. Whatever the fallout is from you wearing the wedding ring that my parents picked out for you, we'll overcome it,"

MacKenzie swelled at the conviction in her husband's voice, "You sound like Seth when you talk like that," she said impressed, "you both remind me of my father so much. I love the men in my life,"

The Truth was, MacKenzie couldn't wait to have her real wedding ring back. It was the most beautiful ring she'd ever seen, next to Sasha Rollins' ring. Plus an additional detail was the fact that it was a DX ring and it put her in the same company as Sasha, Amy, Chyna and LC. That was a status token she wasn't too shy about displaying, it meant a lot to her that the other DX women knew that she was officially one of them. With all the drama that was about to come her way, she could do with the support.

Someone knocked at the door and Hayworth, thinking it was quite late to be getting any visitors wondered who could be coming to see them on their honeymoon.

"Hello sir," said the voice of the official who was with two huge guards. "I represent the security department and we've been informed that your wife is wearing stolen property,"

MacKenzie gasped while Hayworth shook off the accusation, "There's nothing stolen in this suite, I'm sorry but you're wasting your time," he said but the official wasn't interested in what Hayworth had to say.

"Is that your wife?" he asked Hayworth pointing to MacKenzie.

"Yes, now as I told you, there's no stolen property in this room," Hayworth said and the official pulled up a picture of the DX ring and showed it to Hayworth.

"Is this the wedding ring you gave to your wife?" he asked Hayworth and MacKenzie came over to the door.

"What's going on here?" she asked.

"Ma'am, is this your wedding ring?" the official asked and MacKenzie looked at the picture of her wedding ring on the official's phone. It clearly was her ring but it was certainly not stolen.

"Does this look like the ring in the picture?" MacKenzie said holding up her wedding hand and the men looked at the ring and saw that it was not the one that they had been shown.

"Our sincere apologies, enjoy the rest of your stay," the official said with a big smile before leaving with the two huge men that Hayworth had no problem staring down.

As they left, MacKenzie closed the door and breathed heavily, "They came here for the DX ring. Could you imagine what would have happened if I didn't give it to Faith Star like Bianca Belair told me to?" she said to Hayworth. "Our honeymoon would have been a disaster!"

Hayworth sighed, "Stephanie sent those guys to take the ring. Thank God Seth and the God girls are watching our backs," he said gratefully, though he was a little upset at the incident.

"It's offical! I am now a card-carrying member of the DX family. First my honeymoon gets interrupted by some jacked up morons looking for something they think I stole. I can only imagine what's going to happen to us once we leave the Bahamas!" MacKenzie said and Hayworth smiled at her.

"Well I tell you one thing Mac, Stephanie will not be getting her hands on your wedding ring. You're going to wear that ring that I gave you, whether Stephanie likes it or not," Hayworth said.

"She's definitely not going to like it but I love you and I don't care," MacKenzie declared and she resumed her kiss with Hayworth and forgot about the ugliness that Stephanie McMahon tried to bring into the happiest week of her married life so far.
