Chapter 1 - Strange Encounter
It was a bright new day in Magnolia, the birds were chirping and the sun was shining down radiance on the happy citizens of Fiore. Among the people was Kazuki. Casually making his way back to Fairy Tail after successfully completing his A-Rank Mission.
"I'm so hungry…" He moaned. Rubbing his growing stomach, the poor wizard would have remembered to bring food on his job, if he knew Rei was going to cancel out at the last minute.
He approached the entrance of the guild, and kicked the door down as if he owned it. "I'm back bitches!", he announced with a shit eating grin, earning himself a swift beating by a crimson haired knight.
"How many times have I told you to stop breaking the guild?!" She screamed.
"Ow." he whined, rubbing his head. "It's just a door Erza, calm down." He got up and walked to Titania, "Have you seen Rei?"
"She said that she sensed something coming from the forest near your old hometown." answered a white hair woman, tending to Fairy Tail's bar.
"That's strange, I'll go see what that's about, thanks Mira." He waved as he ran off, completely forgetting how hungry he is.
"Lightning Make: Wisp", Rei chanted, using her lightning molding magic to give life to a wisp made from her signature green lightning. "Watch my back, I'm getting bad vibes from this forest."
"REIIIIIIII"
"Oh for god sake.." Rei sighed, as she turned around.
"REIII! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Kazuki screamed once more. "WE BOTH KNOW I CAN SCREAM LOUDER."
"JUST USE YOUR FUCKING DRAGON NOSE!". Rei screamed back, annoyed with Kazuki's bullshit already.
"Oh right." Kazuki whispered to himself, locking onto her rose-like scent and quickly making his way over to her, "Hi."
"Hey, who told you?"
"Erza and Mira, why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want you to worry, you've already lost your home, this forest is the one good memory you have of… him."
"Rei, it's okay, fuck him." Kazuki smiled, he sniffed the air and smirked. "Looks like I found our culprit." He grabbed Rei's hand and rushed straight ahead.
In a long battle against two brothers, the elder son sends minions to try and kill his younger brother, Yasue Yo Shinobu. Yasue is now fighting against one of his top minions, Akuma to the death.
"Woah, didn't expect this." Kazuki rubbed his eyes, having just arrived on what seemed to be a battlefield of sorts. Kazuki looked around to see his precious forest reduced to rubble. "Please stop me from killing those two." He whispered to Rei, trying to control his rage.
"Kaz, sweetie calm down." Rei squeezed his hand and rubbed his hair, "Only one of them seems to be actively fighting."
Kazuki steadily regained his composure, and focused on the brawl in front of him, Rei was right, one of the two was simply dodging, while the other seemed to be thirsty for blood. "Guess I'm killing just 1 of them then." Kazuki growled, still pissed but in control.
"Don't use searing heat, you'll end up burning the whole forest down."
"Do I look like Natsu to you?" He rhetorically asked, powering up. "YOU TWO BETTER STOP RIGHT NOW!" Kazuki screamed at the pair in front of him.
"To not use power is pointless, but my flames only burn the target nothing more", Yasue smiled as Akumas punch phased through him.
"That's it. I warned them." Kazuki growled again, suddenly appearing right behind Akuma, "You're not welcome in my world." His fist glowed black as he sucker punched Akuma, "Get the fuck out." The black light engulfed Akuma and he was gone within an instant.
"Kazuki!" Rei yelled, "you didn't have to kill him."
"And I didn't, I sent him packing to where the cunt came from." He answered, brushing off the dust from his hoodie. He turned his attention to Yasue, "I could sense that you're not hostile." He smiled and extended his hand, "I'm Kazuki, and the bombshell behind you is Rei."
"Nice to meet you two, however I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to survive, so I hope that I won't be seeing you again." He smirks as he disappears within the black flames which go out and leave emptiness.
"Why is it that everyone we run into is either a psychopath or anti-social as fuck?" Rei wondered out loud.
"Beats me. But I like him." Kazuki smiled.
"Of course you do, that's exactly how you were like when I met you."
"And look at the success story I am now" Kazuki dramatically posed.
"Yeah, I'm beginning to think we should have you checked out for brain damage." Rei chuckled, "anyway, guess we should head back to the guild."
"Give me a moment," Kazuki turned around and closed his eyes. "I know you can hear me, for the record I don't trust people much either, but I also know how lonely you must be, feel free to follow us back, especially if you want free food." He said out loud.
"Free food? Really? You have any idea on how much we spend on supplies just for you?"
"Get off my case, he might be hungry." Kazuki whined, "Speaking of which, I'm starving." He grabbed Rei's hand again and flew off with her, using his Heavenly Body Magic to return to the guild swiftly.
Yasue left for a cave to meditate, everything Kazuki said was starting to way on his heart, also the idea of free food was irresistible so he decided to head to the boy'spower right in the morning and go to sleep for the time being.
Back at the guild, Kazuki was munching down on his 10th bowl of ramen, clearly trying to beat his record of 14.
"Slow down or you're going to choke." Erza slapped his back, babysitting the idiot.
"Can't think, busy eating." He continued to munch down like an animal.
Erza was ready to smack him again, when Kazuki suddenly stopped and looked up.
"What's wrong?" Erza asked, Kazuki usually never stopped eating for anything.
"I think I made a new friend." Kazuki smiled, recognising the smell coming from the guild's entrance, and right in front of it, stood Yasue.
"Long time no see Kid, Rei." Yasue walks into the guild hall straight to Kazuki.
"How have you been?", He smiled.
"Long time? Didn't we meet literally yesterday?" Kazuki asked, genuinely confused.
"It's a figure of speech dumbass." Rei interrupted, "We're doing fine, are you hungry? Feel free to dig in before this kid finishes what's left." She smiled at Yasue and signaled Mira to bring a drink over.
"Food great im starving" Yasue sits down and starts mowing down the food.
"Not keen on manners are you?" Jellal joked. "We should maybe get a refill." he pointed to the table, "They'll be eating the table soon."
"Refill and drinks!" Mira gleefully announced as she brought the refreshments over and placed on the table. "So who is he?" she asked Rei.
"I think he might be Kazuki's long lost twin." Rei dreaded, "There's more of him". She face-palmed. Earning a soft pat on the shoulder by Erza as Yasue and Kazuki finished the refills.
"That filled me up!" Kazuki stretched, "Thanks Mira, delicious as always."
"That was some great food, glad I came"Yasue smiled a little bit.
"So you can smile", Kazuki smirked, "What do we call you?"
"My name is Yasue. I'm a fallen dragon, once known as dragon god and now demon god, pleasure to meet you all.", Yasue bows.
"Neet! I'm also a Dragon, kind of… Anyway, you're clearly not from this universe, what brings you here?" Kazuki asked.
"Kaz how can you know that?" Rei interjected.
"Because he uses a sort of fire I've never seen, and more importantly, he has no trace of ethernano." Kazuki plainly answered, as if it were obvious.
"He is correct in assuming im not from around here because im from a completely different universe from yours and in my universe my entire world has been ravaged and destroyed, im not here to hurt any of you i just want to find a place where i can start my life again" Yasue lowers his head as all the bad memories of the past come back.
Kazuki saw Yasue's facial expressions and slightly cringed, feeling empathy for the God, Kazuki knew a thing or two about conflict such as this. "If you want to start over, then you've come to the perfect place." He softly smiled, as the guild nodded. "Join Fairy Tail."
"No if i join your guild you will all be in danger just like all the others" Yasue clenched his fists so hard that he started bleeding.
"Oi!" Kazuki grabbed Yasue's hand and started to heal it, "First of all, stop with that thinking, trust me it's not going to get you anywhere good." He gently let go, being careful to not dazzle Yasue. "Second of all, what makes you think we can't handle ourselves? We' basically go around giving the Magic Council a reason to wipe us out." He announced, with too much pride.
"He's right." Makarov approached Yasue, "The choice is yours, we will not force it. But we do hope you will join."
Yasue gets up and uses his Emerald Flames to heal his hands in an instant and then the flames dispersed "alright but if i'm gonna join your guild i'll need to test at least one of you in a mock battle" Yasue challenged the guild without fear.
"Absolutely not!" Erza sternly declined, "We're a family, and families don't fight." She wasn't about to let anyone start anything again. If only she wasn't hit by Kazuki's sleep spell, knocking her unconscious into Jellal's arms.
"Don't worry about her, classic guild mum as always, never changes." Kazuki shrugged his shoulders, "Alright Yasue, I gladly accept your challenge."
"Oh for fuck sake." Rei sighed, slapping her face again. "If you blow the guild up, I will get Laxus to fry your ass." She warned.
"Oh please, as if he'd care." Kazuki laughed.
"Actually i have the perfect solution for our problem, I could easily create a cage around the two of us and the guild would be safe since the cage is able to resist complete erasing"Yasue suggested.
"Ooo Fascinating." Kazuki hopped around excitedly, it wasn't often that he ran into beings of unique powers, Kazuki couldn't wait to test his own abilities and add to his arsenal of magic. "Go ahead, the sooner you put the cage up, the sooner we can get down to business."
Yasue starts charging energy "The power of Creation is my specialty however with creation there must be destruction!"Yasue's power blasts everyone down to the ground yet not harming anyone and the cage has been set.
"Well here it is and now ill give you the first shot since i need to make sure you can at least touch me while im in fight mode"Yasue genuinely questioned.
"What like this?" Kazuki asked, having his hand on Yasue's left shoulder already.
"As i thought"Yasue's shoulder turns into black fire"even you cant touch me"
"Flames that judge power, and react with mercy." Kazuki inspected, "You really are a gentle one." He softly smiled again before taking a few paces back. His face turned serious as he closed his eyes and slowly powered up.
"Hmm so you finally wanna get this fight going alright let's see what you're made of kid"Yasue surges with power black flames surrounding him in a black vortex and when his power finally calms down Yasue comes out with a black cloak and streams of black fire spiraling around him and his eyes have turned black with only a small streak of red down the centre.
"Well this is annoying, I can't sense your energy. How am I supposed to match your power?" Kazuki whined, "Guess I'll have to judge it, personally." Kazuki launched at Yasue, bringing his fist to his face. "Blood-Fury: Strike", He chanted.
Yasue forms dragon wings out of the black fire and uses them to slam Kazuki with the force of a collapsing star. "If you manage to land a single damaging hit i will join the guild i give you my word"
"Why do I always end up on my ass?" Kazuki whined again, having just been floored by Yasue. "Well at least now I have a sense of your current strength, I think." Kazuki struggled to plan his next move, he usually analyzed his opponents power and responded accordingly, but Yasue's power was undetectable to him. Kazuki clapped his hands and green lightning spilled from his body, "Lightning Make: Volcano!" He chanted, slamming his hands on the ground and forming a small volcano out of lighting, which erupted all around Yasue. "I'll be lucky if that even tickles you." Kazuki nervously laughed.
'He really is trying isn't he, i guess ill give this guild a try' Yasue turns back to normal releasing his power and erasing the lightning "Thats enough iv seen what i needed to, ill join Fairy Tail"
"Well wasn't that anti-climatic?" Kazuki chuckled, "Sorry, I don't have much experience in fighting, I'm kind of an ex-assassin. But more importantly…"
"Welcome to Fairy Tail!" The guild chanted as Mira approached Yasue with the Guild Emblem Marker.
"Where do you want your Fairy Tail mark?" Mira gently asked Yasue.
"Ill have it on my back if you don't mind"yasue said happily.
"No problem!" Mira gleed, as she lifted Yasue's clothes and stamped his back, leaving behind a White Insignia of Fairy Tail.
"Look at that, you got free food and all you had to do was join the guild." Kazuki joked, "Now to sort you into a team."
"Kaz, ask if he wants to be in a team first." Rei intervened.
"Okay, Yasue, will you join mine and Rei's team?" He asked Yasue, giving him the classic Kazuki puppy eyes.
"Who else is in the team? Or is it just you two?"Yasue asked.
"Just us two" The pair replied in unison.
"We don't go on many jobs." Kazuki added.
"We do however, manage to end up having more then our share of trouble." Rei sighed. "So you know, if you wanna be broke all the time and almost die every other day, then we're the perfect team for you."
"Well i do that anyway so i guess it might be fun with company"Yasue smiled"ill join your team and thank you for having me"
"Great, our team is growing!" Kazuki cheared.
"Ignore him, he once made leaflets trying to recruit people into our team." Rei laughed.
"Wait, Yasue you haven't been here long have you? Do you have a place to stay?" Kazuki asked.
"Ive just been sleeping in a cave in the forest"
"You… WHAT?!" Rei screamed, she had joked earlier that he was a long lost twin, but now she was beginning to suspect that both idiots might actually be related.
"Dude, you're moving in with us, and that's that." Kazuki added, fully determined to make sure Yasue had a proper home to sleep in.
"Are you sure you wanna sleep with an old man like me?"Yasue asked.
"Well we're certainly not letting you live like a hobo." Kazuki responded, choosing to ignore Yasue referring to himself as an old man.
"You won't be sleeping with us, I have a spare room." Rei smiled, "Actually we should get you settled in before anything else." She grabbed Kazuki's hand and Yasue's arm and walked towards the guild entrance. "We'll be back tomorrow, bye y'all" She shouted behind her to the guild.
"C'ya bitches, don't party too hard!" Kazuki waved
"O-okay i guess ill see you all later" Yasue stumbles as he's being dragged out.
