Chapter 8: Our Netflix Binge Session
One hot last Saturday of June 2021, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at the Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties office in Monroeville for a Netflix binge session. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We elected to watch Dancing with the Birds, which was a science and nature documentary. We brought along a healthy snack and a beverage to eat while watching the movie. I brought along apple slices, Sarah brought along carrot sticks, James brought along celery sticks, and Henri brought along Wheat Thins crackers. We all used the same dip and brought along cans of beer with us to drink. "It's funny because I thought that would be watching something party-related on Netflix," James admitted. "Same here," Henri agreed. "Well, this is kind of party-like since some of the music in this documentary sounds almost exactly like Santana, which we listen to every week," I stated. "Wouldn't it be cool if Carlos Santana had his own documentary on Netflix, in addition to performing at the Three Rivers Arts Festival?" "I think that would be pretty cool, Angel," Sarah agreed with me. "Now, let's watch the movie!" After the movie was over, we talked about and reviewed our favorite works of art from the Three Rivers Arts Festival. I shared my favorite picture of all three rivers of Pittsburgh up close and in person, Sarah shared her cat photos, James shared some more digital photos of all of the city of Pittsburgh, and Henri shared a picture of a glowing neon Ferris wheel. "I can't wait until our cooking session," I stated. "We will be making cakes that look like lots of tasty things to eat. I have peanut butter and jelly." "Mine is Sicilian pizza," Henri stated. "Mine is s'mores," James stated. "And, my cake will look like a cereal bowl!" Sarah exclaimed. "I just wonder if it will taste just as good as the birthday cake that I had on my 15th birthday." "Maybe it will," I told Sarah. "As you all know, I am using yellow cake mix, not chocolate cake mix, like the book says, since I like that better," Sarah reminded us. "Hopefully, our other friends can join us on our cooking day, since they have their own cakes to make, too, you know," I pointed out. "I am also glad that we have healthy snacks to eat at our condominium. Beer is also not bad for you if you drink it in moderation. That was unfortunately what happened to Sarah's old boyfriend, Benedict and as a result, he got suspended from school. It was not pleasant if you ask me." "I was so upset that I didn't want to be around you guys anymore," Sarah explained. "That was a good day to utilize coping skills, all right," I pointed out. I paused for a moment. "Hey, do you guys want to play a game with me?" I asked. "Sure," Sarah replied. "What do you want to play?" "How about Saran Wrap Prize Ball?" I asked. "There are still some prize balls left to unwrap." "Sure," Sarah replied. After our game of Saran Wrap Prize Ball was over, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great evening, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
