Later on that night
"You staring at the front door isn't going to will her back to you. She left. With someone else. Which is for the best if you ask me. Let her be someone's else problem." Nathan said.
Lucas stared hard at his brother. "You do realize Brooke and I aren't together because you got to me. All that stuff you said. When that is the last thing i needed!" He exclaimed.
Nathan stared back at his brother. Taken aback by the harsh reaction. "Are you actually upset about ending things.? Or that i was speaking the truth.? Luke I did what family does. Look out for you like always. That's all." He explained.
"I didn't need you're protecting! All i expected from you was support. And you refused to give it. Yet i allowed you're negavity and lack of informed thoughts into my mind. Which turned me into a verison of myself that rejected Brooke instead of embracing her!" Lucas proclaimed.
"The two of you were temporary at best. You're acting like the relationship was real." Nathan replied.
"I was in love with her." Lucas admitted.
"I think you got used to her. Found comfort in her. That isn't love Luke. Then again between Rachel and Brooke. You don't exactly have experience to back you up on the subject." Nathan stated.
It was then that Lucas punched him. It all happened so fast. Lucas was in a blur of anger. Disbelief. And heartbreak watching the woman he loved with someone else.

Brooke put the engagement ring back on her hand. She looked over to the side of her to see the man who proposed to her two weeks ago. Asleep beside her. He was a good Morello. She had made peace with idea of motherhood not being in her future. Her and Owen would travel and enjoy life fully.
She hadn't revealed her engagement to Lucas yet. She would tommorow. No more hiding it. Brooke decided.
