I was taken aback.
"Join me?" I asked.
"This version of him seems like an improvement," End said. "So I want to help keep him like this."
"There must be something you want in return."
"There is. You're going to help sell my lies."
I listened to her tale and went into the house, seeing Justin sitting on my bed.
"How'd it go?" Jus asked.
I came into the room and sat on his side.
"That woman's name is End," I said. "She was your fiancé before the accident."
"Really?"
"She's twenty-three. You told me she was the first person that gave you a chance."
Justin placed his hand to his forehead.
"I almost had a wife," he mumbled in a low volume, looking at the ground.
End walked into the house, sitting on my bed next to Justin.
"Our bat friend's a very nice lady," End said, looking at me with a smirk and then turning her eyes back to Jus. "She even offered to let me stay over whenever I want."
She turned a compliment into a self-invitation. I had to play along with her charade or risk my work being undone.
"That's right," I said, holding Jus's hand. "How about we stay home today and then tomorrow we can try a heist?"
"Ok," Jus replied.
"Great. Now, I'm going to take End outside and see her on her way."
I took End's hand and closed the front door behind us. She then slapped my hand away and flew into the air, me coming after her.
"You have some nerve telling him what you did," I said.
"Why don't you want me around?" End asked.
"Because I've been putting in a lot of work these past few days and I'm not going to let it go to waste through your intervention. He will become a jewel thief."
"Well before you turn him into a copy of yourself, have you thought about the missing person's report his grandpa filed on him?"
End came closer to me.
"I'll tell him I didn't find anything," End said. "We have a real chance to make him my love interest and your understudy."
"But what's your end goal? I'm definitely keeping him like this until his memories come back."
"Then what will you do?"
"I'll figure that out when it happens. He will do as I say."
"Well I gotta go. See you tomorrow."
End gave me her number, waved at me and sped away. I went back into the cabin and caressed Justin's hair.
"It used to be so much longer," I said, feigning a past. "It could probably grow all the way back in a week."
He nodded his head as I went into a closet. I threw on a black gown with matching pumps and long black gloves. I jumped into Justin's lap and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He blushed and placed his hand over his face.
"Didn't see that coming," Justin said.
"That's what flirting looks like," I replied with a laugh. "You like my dress?"
"It's beautiful."
"Good. You're going to be wearing it tonight."
Justin looked at me with widened eyes.
"Anything wrong with that?" I asked.
"I didn't expect you to want us to wear the same dress," he admitted.
"You know we like to wear the same outfit."
I went to the closet and pulled out a larger copy of my dress, handing it to him. He began to undress in front of me and I looked away. He put it on and tapped me on the shoulder. I gave him a smile and slapped his butt. He put his hand over his face and I titled my head as I stood by him.
"Something wrong?" I asked.
"Are you sure we were really close?" Justin replied.
"You have no idea."
As I left the room, I contacted End to let her know about my plan. She apparently didn't have much of a social life as she quickly confirmed she could come to the restaurant of my choosing. We traveled to a restaurant clad in our dresses and saw End standing outside, wearing the same thing as before.
"Justin, you look so amazing," End said, touching his shoulder and staring at his backside. "Forget the restaurant's cooking. You're the most appetizing thing here."
He looked away from her and I came on his side as the three of us entered the building. We were quickly seated and given some menus. Justin sat in between End and myself, End leaning on his shoulder. He looked at her with a slight smile. She extended her arms to hug him and he got out of his chair to receive it.
"If you two lovebirds would stop making eyes at each other, how about we order?" I said.
"You've got the right idea, Rouge," Justin replied to me.
We scanned our menus and ordered after an interaction with a waitress. As she walked to another table, I noticed that the man sitting there had a red jacket with black pants. His glasses covered his eyes and he had a mustache that made my skin crawl. "Eggman," I blurted out as I nearly fell out of my chair, Justin and End turning to me in shock.
"Rouge," Eggman muttered with a smirk.
"I take it we didn't coincidentally schedule meals here," I replied.
"Not at all. I wanted to get your cooperation on a mission with Metal Sonic."
"I'm not interested."
Eggman gave me a stare with sinister intentions, turning his eyes to Justin, who was being held on the side by End.
"I see you've made an identically dressed friend," Eggman observed. "It would be sad if something happened to him."
I put my finger out to point at him and leaned forward, focusing on him to such an extent that the restaurant seemed to disappear.
"If you lay one hand on him," I warned, "you won't have another to build or plot anything with ever again."
He smiled at me and stared at his menu. I walked over to Justin and End, the former hiding his face behind his black glove.
"Something wrong?" I inquired.
"Rouge, that was very sweet and protective of you," Justin replied. "I now understand that you do really care about me."
I took his hand and gave him a kiss on the cheek, End smiling.
"Of course I do," I said. "It's time you knew."
"I might not remember my past but I know what I want out of my present," Justin said as he leaned closer to me and took End by the waist. "Whatever you two want, I'll do it. I know I can trust you."
End looked at me with a smile that she made sure to keep hidden from Justin and I nodded my head as he seemed to pledge complete obedience.
