(23) Starting a War

"It's disgusting."

"I thought your boy kidnapping my daughter was disgusting too."

"She just… stands there."

"Marvelous isn't it?"

"You truly are heinous."

"So was your son taking advantage of the situation he put her-"

"He would never!"

"I disagree."

"The charges you have on him are-"

"Negotiable."

"I turn a blind eye to what you've done to Morgana in exchange for all of them being dropped?"

"You catch on quickly, Your Majesty."

"Morgana, I'm sorry."

"Don't touch her! She will never have a need for a healer."

"This is your masterpiece? Total control?"

"Until I come up with something better."

"Walk with us."

"Morgana?"

"I doubt she can even hear you."

"What is your plan, Farron?"

"Start the war and end it swiftly."

"How?"

"With her."

"You'd sacrifice her?"

"She is no use to anyone else."

"The giant white wolf."

"Put him out of his misery!"

"Greymane can finally retire from war duties."

"Morgana!"

Morgana's vision was hazy as she came to. She was standing somewhere in the Keep. Her body ached and her eyes were sore. Morgana was leaning over as the all too familiar sensation of the Light touched her. As her eyes came in and out of focus she recognized the royal attire of the Prince standing beside her.

Morgana felt his hand around her wrist as she attempted to push him off with her free hand. Making contact with him was a mistake as she groaned against him feeling the Light grow stronger. Her sense of balance was failing her as she swayed while standing. Morgana's knees grew weak as her muscles began to fail her.

"It's working," Wrynn whispered. "Morgana!"

Wrynn wrapped his arms around her then, using his entire being to radiate Light. Morgana arched against him with her lips parted for quick gasps right into Wrynn's ear. She shuddered with her hands on his chest in another attempt to free herself. Her breath felt hot as her body completely surrendered to Wrynn and his magic.

"What did I tell you?" Farron asked. "He can't keep his hands off her."

"Anduin," King Varian sighed.

Farron smirked as he pulled out a new needle, "I've got her if you've got him."

A sharp pinch was felt on the side of Morgana's neck.

"My beautiful little girl. What has he done to you?"

"Can you help her?"

"There's nothing in my powers that I can do."

"I'm sorry you had to see her then."

"No, I'm glad I did. Even if it was his vision of her."

"I'm doing all that I can."

"He's got you in a tight spot I know."

"Let me know if you think of anything."

"Of course, Your Highness."

"The one with the red eyes."

"Hook shot up and snipe him right out of the air."

"Farron! What are you doing?"

"Starting the war of course."

"Good, you got her attention now."

"I never gave you orders to shoot Nathanos!"

"Last I checked he stabbed my daughter, I have every right to avenge her."

"Now you play the daughter card?"

"I always play it."

"The one with the horns and the tribal headdress."

"Our Prince is too close to that one."

"No!"

"This has gone on long enough, Farron!"

"Do I really need to leak to the public that their Prince is a criminal?"

"Farron you are hereby detained by Stormwind-"

"Shoot, Morgana!"

"No!"

Morgana's breath hitched in her throat. Her eyes went wide as she realized she was in the middle of a hook shot bringing the sniper up to her eyes. She quickly lowered the gun and looked for her perch for the hook to reattach to. Morgana hit the ground hard knocking any remaining air out of her body.

"I'm sorry, I tried to free you sooner," Wrynn spoke frantically.

Morgana gasped for air as she leaned back on her elbows looking up at Wrynn. Everything was failing her. The moment she felt anything her body had it was done. Her arms were shot, her legs were shaking, her eyes strained, and it even hurt to breathe. In one eye her vision was red signaling the infrared used for sniping abilities while the other was grey and foggy.

"I'll explain everything, I swear it," Wrynn said, now caressing her cheek as he looked down at her. "I'll explain everything when you wake up."

Morgana swallowed hard in between gasps.

"Forgive me."

Morgana felt herself lifted off the cold ground only to feel intense heat surge through her. She squirmed in his arms, kicking out when she could. She buried her face into Wrynn's chest attempting to muffle the sounds escaping from her parted lips. Morgana strained against him, taking a handful of his shirt in an attempt to free herself.

One quick and powerful burst of Light rushed through Morgana causing her to suddenly cry out and arch in his arms. She let out a staggered gasp as her eyes closed, her jaw dropped, as a few tears escaped. Morgana was suddenly hyper aware of her core and how it now ached. The strained southern sensation was a new effect Wrynn's Light seemed to have on her.

Morgana went limp in his arms and the Light now overwhelmed her. Her head was reeling and if it wasn't for his grasp she wouldn't be able to tell up from down. Morgana's eyes were closed as they were completely useless now with the daze she was in. Her breathing was in uneven intervals as she now waited for sleep to claim her.

"I swear to you, answers are coming," Wrynn spoke gently as he soothed her into a much needed deep slumber.
