(25) A Final Request

"Get up," a guard shouted at her.

Morgana was laying on her side facing away from the cell door. She slowly turned, hearing the keys unlocking the only exit. She stared up at the barred opening to Stormwind's sky watching one faint cloud drift over.

"It's time."

Morgana had been in the Stockade maybe a few days. She knew they wouldn't bother feeding her for long. She sighed before swinging her legs off the bed and standing ready to exit. The guard shackled her wrists and ankles before collaring her.

Born with a collar, die with a collar. I'll always be someone's pet, even in my last breath.

The memory of her first day with the Invisible Irons sprung up in her head. She nearly snarled at it wishing she had put up more of a fight to keep them off. But her early teen years were the worst Farron had with breaking her into training her; the chains were the reason she became so submissive to avoid pain.

The guard yanked her lightly pulling Morgana back to reality. She walked forward as ordered trying to focus on the clouds overhead she saw instead of the cold grey Stockade floor. Morgana stood patiently not in any hurry to be brought to her head as another guard opened the cellar next to her.

Morgan Farron approached her with no chains or restraints. Morgana already knew he played his political game well to stay out of his bounds. He more than likely bargained with those that wanted him dead and manipulated his way to a shorter sentence. The more time went on the more Morgana realized how dangerous her father was both with his words, his mind, and his inventions.

"To the harbor," he stated. "One last look at the sea."

Morgana turned to face the exit to the Stockade with her father next to her. A few guards were in front and behind them as they walked them out. Morgana's eyes burned for a moment seeing the sun as they departed; it seemed she'd already gotten used to the darkness the Stockade had provided.

Her heart sank as she now hung her head in defeat. A few of the residents of Stormwind came to see them; the traitors of royalty and Stormwind. She could hear their whispers and their snickering as she passed them. Morgana's eyes now burned with anger.

To think, all I ever wanted was for them to accept me.

A stupid girl with stupid dreams that never came true.

"Scum!"

"Traitors!"

"The king trusted you!"

"Well that's one whore we don't have to feed anymore."

Morgana sighed in relief seeing one of the docks of the harbor blocked off to the public. More than likely it was the one for her and her father to have his final request on. The guards stopped as the wooden dock started. Farron took his daughter's chains in his own hands and walked her to the end.

He took in a deep breath as they came to the end enjoying the fresh air. Morgana just looked out into the open blue sea. She never really looked at it before now; didn't have the time to. Enjoying the scenery wasn't something she had the chance to do. If she did notice scenery, it was for war purposes.

"You did well," Farron spoke.

Morgana scoffed, "Well enough to land me a death sentence."

"Your shot on Blightcaller was your best yet."

"Best ever," Morgana corrected.

The wind picked up for a moment and Morgana felt the sea's air gently caress her face. She smiled; probably the last one, and enjoyed the simple things nature offered.

Morgana glanced over her shoulder seeing a firing squad form. She turned back letting the brief moment of hope slip through her fingers. At least it would be a quick death.

"These are my final gifts to you but they come with a price," Farron spoke.

He handed her the gauntlet. The grapple hook gauntlet she had gotten so used to seeing.

"You want me to die with one of your-"

"Listen you wretched girl!" Farron snarled in a harsh whisper.

Farron took her chains around her neck and pulled them from the center to one side using one word of power. The chains shattered except the one around her neck with the Invisible Iron around her neck. It dwindled for a moment and then faded to a cold grey.

"This potion will grant you five minutes of invisibility," Farron said, handing her a vial. "Take it and run. I will call for you when the time is appropriate."

"They'll kill you," Morgana said disgustedly.

She was on her final hour and her father was now risking everything for her temporary freedom. What more could she be worth to him? He'd already threatened to sell her to the whore house but now he was giving her a second chance?

"Remember when I told you that I was worth more to them alive than dead, that they could never truly be rid of me?" Farron asked quickly. "Greymane wants at least one of us dead, and the one he thinks has more worth is going to stay in the stockade."

Morgana glanced over seeing the firing squad approach quickly.

"If there is ever a moment that you are not the fastest on land you'll have to learn to fly," Farron spoke.

Morgana glanced up at him then puzzled; never had her father resorted to riddles to train her. Her brows crashed together trying to decipher his words as he stared blankly back down at her.

"Take it and run," Farron said again. "But don't wander too far; I will have use for you again."

Obey and live or disobey and die.

Morgana quickly attached her grapple hook, took the vial down like a shot of ale, and turned to the firing squad with determination. She bolted then seeing a few of the guards hold up Stormwind's lazy excuse of a shotgun Morgana had used nights before. She smiled seeing them start to glance around themselves.

Morgana quickly zipped through the opening they had created in their confusion and raced to Stormwind. Five minutes wasn't a lot of time but it was the window of opportunity with the grapple hook. Morgana raced up the stairs before taking the most direct route to the Elwynn Forest.

"I'll have to make my own bow and arrow," Morgana spoke under her breath, seeing the streets of Stormwind mostly empty now. "Sleeping in the trees should come back naturally.

She ran past the Cathedral still gathering her thoughts of survival through the upcoming winter season. Elwynn Forest was rather mild in the winter but still provided Morgana with a challenge going into it alone.

"I guess the only thing I'll be eating this winter is meat unless a few of the plants and flowers make it through the first frost," she said, now coming up to the Trade District that would be busy if not full.

Morgana stopped her through to focus on dodging in and out of the crowd still heading directly for the front gates. She pulled over and stood on a few cargo crates as a large herd of mounted guards moved through the area. Luckily for her none were looking for her; yet. She glanced down the final alleyway to the main gates and ran when the opportunity presented itself. There might have been one guard left and then the final gates and she was free.

"Better hurry before they close that final gate sealing me in," Morgana said, passing the final residences of Stormwind.

Morgana stopped for a moment as a familiar smell caught her attention. She turned to make sure no one was behind her. The smell lingered causing Morgana to panic slightly. The sweet but calming scent of honeysuckle stalled her escape.

"Hurry Morgana," a female voice called to her.

Morgana spun around still unable to see anyone within her vicinity.

"They'll close that front gate soon, and your invisibility potion is about to expire."

The "who are you"s would have to wait for another day. Morgana turned and bolted one more time escaping through the final gate and into Elwynn Forest moments before they ordered for it to shut.

Morgana pulled herself over to a densely overgrown area. If her invisibility potion wore off here no one would notice.

"That was not my mother," Morgana panted now realizing her adrenaline was spiking. "But whoever they were…. They've been following me sporadically for a while."

Morgana then made the conscious decision to travel further than Elwynn Forest to ensure her follower wouldn't be able to have an easy time stalking her.

All that mattered now was respecting the "boundaries" her chains gave her; but everything else was on her.

A/N: I didn't see enough Anduin/OC stuff so I made one myself (LuL). A confession I have to make is that I started posting chapters for this when it was 95% done. Pretty sure I posted chapter 1 when I was still writing chapter 22 or so. Thanks to anyone that enjoyed this!
