R&R longer note at the end

Tifa and Vincent followed the group of people as they headed further down, the one called Yuffie seemed to be the leader as she skipped along the narrow boards, Tifa watched feeling a little nervous as she saw the girl's foot inches from the edge concerned she would end up falling and hurting herself.

They walked in silence eventually entering an open space, looking around they saw what appeared to be cages lining the walls, Vincent slipped his hand under his cloak hand on his gun ready, Tifa's muscles tightened up something about this place seemed off. Walking a little further they entered another large open room, this room was filled with tanks on the walls, murky greenish water hid the contents as the group continued to walk. Stood in front of the tanks was a tall man his greasy black hair tied into an untidy ponytail as his focus seemed to be on the tank in front of him.

"What took so long?" He asked without turning around Yuffie sighed as she looked at him, slowly she flipped her brown backpack off one shoulder holding it next to her.

"You could at least face me when you speak to people" Yuffie turned to face Tifa and Vincent failing to notice how on guard they were "Now it's time for you to meet our resident creepy old guy who uses big words". The man turned to face them, his black tinted glasses hid his eyes, his face showed the signs of aging Vincent looked at him curious if he'd seen sunlight in many years.

"Scientific words are always big when used on simpletons such as yourself" he retorted causing the young girl to spin on her heel an angry look in her eyes as she began to argue with the other man.

"Don't mind him" came a calm female voice, she wore a pink dress hidden behind a long white lab coat, her long brown hair was tied into a braided ponytail as she smiled bowing slightly to Tifa and Vincent "He isn't good with people is all, his research is more important he says. My name is Aerith, I'm professor Hojo's assistant".

"Whatever, so who are these two?" Hojo asked as he looked over at Tifa and Vincent, even behind his glasses Tifa could feel his eyes roll over her body making her skin crawl, she didn't like this man one bit taking a step back as he moved forward towards her. He suddenly stopped as Tifa heard numerous clicking sounds around her, she looked around as she took a defensive stance, every gun had been turned on the duo.

"Back off" She heard a familiar yet angry tone as she turned seeing why everyone was on edge, pressed to the professor's temple was a three barrelled silver gun, her eyes traced the gun to its owner seeing an angry look in the eyes of Vincent.

"You're a scientist, try to calculate your possibility of survival if you were to take another step" Vincent said his finger on the trigger, his yellow eyes locked on Hojo, Tifa looked around at the guns trained on the two this was a situation that nobody could win.

The blonde paced in front of the shaking Don, her personal guard lay dead at her feet Jessie's gun was pointed at the Don's head making sure she didn't try anything stupid, Biggs and Wedge stood by the door blocking her escape route.

"L-listen to me" Scarlet said her voice shaking "I have enough money to fund a task force to support your search".

"You made a deal with my subordinates" The man said as he stopped pacing his eyes locked on the Don "The two they were looking for, you hand them over and yet what should happen. Your men failed to keep them locked up in the arena and they got away, your men let them get away, you failed". The don shook her head jumping as the blonde slammed his sword through her wooden desk sending splinters into the air.

"You can keep your money and this pathetic task force you spoke of I'll take care of finding them myself" he said dragging his sword back attaching it behind him as he turned to leave "Clean this mess up". Jessie and the others nodded as their boss went to leave, Scarlet's eyes flashed with fear as she stood suddenly a renewed confidence, she knew there was only one thing for it.

"They are with a resistance group" She shouted as the man stopped turning to face her "The same group who attacked my arena, the ones who robbed me. They call themselves protectors of the weak but it's all lies they are just thieves".

"Where do we find them?" the man asked his eyes locked on the don's he couldn't see any sign of a lie but he knew full well she was just trying to save herself.

"There are rumours they are in Sector six, some say they are in Sector seven" Scarlet continued "I have men out searching for them as we speak, please give them some time I'm sure we will find them".

"Thank you for your assistance" The man said as he turned his eyes to Jessie "See to it that she receives her payment".

"Yes director Cloud" Jessie said with a nod, the director headed out as he reached the bottom of the staircase a single gun-shot rang out through the reception hall, a smirk tugged at the stoic man's lips. Not long now prisoner then we'll see if your foolish attempt to escape me was worth it.

Three days had passed since the duo had come to the underground base of the resistance group, following Vincent's attempt on Hojo's life the two had been locked in one of the cages, occasionally seeing someone when they were brought food or water. Tifa looked up as she heard the soft footsteps of someone approaching them, the rattling of keys rang out as the cage was unlocked as the cage door swung open they saw the figure of the professor Hojo's assistant Aerith.

"You can come out now" Aerith said smiling as Tifa and Vincent stayed still, any trust they had for the group had quickly vanished "I'm sorry this happened, I was against the idea but it was the director's decision. They would like to meet you, I'm sure if you met them then this whole thing could be cleared up".

"If you wanted to clear it up then why wait three days?" Tifa asked rather aggressively, she could tell Aerith was a nice girl, her manner of speaking, her calming presence but it didn't matter. She was one of them, one of this group who had locked her and Vincent up like animals, she looked up as Aerith entered the cage.

"I know you're not dangerous, I understand that the professor's personality can be a little" Aerith paused her finger on her chin almost like she was trying to pick her next words carefully "Difficult but I can assure you the rest aren't like that, I promise the director is a nice person they just had to do what they felt was the best course of action is all". Tifa looked from Aerith to Vincent unsure what to do, Vincent slowly stood as he looked at the girl in front of them, holding her ground Aerith stared back.

"Fine, we'll meet them" Vincent said finally as Tifa looked back to Aerith who smiled brightly "On one condition".

"As you wish, what is your condition?" Aerith asked curious, her eyes not leaving the taller man.

"If we don't like what's said you return our stuff and show us a way out" Tifa spoke up, Vincent looked to her as he turned to look back at Aerith as he nodded his agreement. The brown haired girl looked from one to the other deep in thought before she slowly nodded.

"Condition accepted" Aerith said as she turned "Please follow me". Aerith stepped out of the cage as she stepped to the side letting the duo pass her, she slowly closed the cage as she smiled leading the way, Tifa and Vincent remained on guard as they passed other members, some backed away others tightened their grips on their guns.

No matter what was said Tifa could feel the tense atmosphere, she could tell no matter what happened in this meeting they were no longer welcome here, the trust had been broken from both parties. It was only a matter of time before the two would be asked to leave.

Anyone who has paid attention to this point knows I love keeping everyone on their toes with surprises and unexpected moments, well I hope this one hit the mark just as well as the others did. Yes Professor creepy boy Hojo's assistant is our lovely flower girl Aerith, I also feel like a lot of people will be mad at me for not allowing Vincent to pull the trigger but if I had then we would have another faction trying to hunt our duo and I think they have enough trouble as it is.

Also to the guest reviewer who asked about the DOC fanfiction, I did some research into DOC and have decided that I still don't understand it well enough, I also would like to say that when it comes to fanfictions I personally don't do recommendations of others ideas. I find that if its my own idea its more fun to write therefore making it more fun to read, I also don't do fanfictions for things I have never personally played or seen because I can't get the right feeling from it unless I experience it myself. In closing I won't be doing a DOC fanfiction or accepting requests because like I say writing other's ideas is not fun for me to write and it wouldn't be fun for people to read
