Last time on Whodunnit? The final 8 all made it through the night alive! Things were looking up for the houseguests, and in celebration of nobody passing during the night, our gracious Killer decided to throw a Pokéathlon for the guests!
Unfortunately, one guest in particular was unable to compete, and the Pokéathlon was canceled. To the dismay of some of the guests, it was Mary who bit the dirt, literally. The final 7 were faced with their hardest, and most gruesome, case yet.
Unfortunately for Drake, not only did he lose his closest friend in the game, but he also lost his entire alliance due to Missy getting fed up with him. However, it wasn't only Drake who lost an alliance, as Team Penny also suffered when Tom chose to flip and join the two other remaining members of Team Quinton.
Things looked dark for Drake, but by a stroke of good luck, Team Penny took him in as a replacement for Tom, and things only got better onwards for the land shark. In a 4-3 brawl for the riddle, against all odds, Drake managed to pull out a clutch win when he needed it the most. By utilizing tactics from his new ally member Blossom, he also earned Ace Detective of the week by getting the Best Case Theory, the cherry on top of his bittersweet sundae.
Tensions and nerves were high for everyone at dinner, with the exception of the SPARED Drake. In a first for the game, there was more than two scared cards given out that night. The first card went to Missy, who had been spiraling out of control since the start of the day. "I'd say Mary had a panic attack and may have had a heart attack?" The second SCARED card was received by Penny, one of the two alliance leaders. "You probably cut her with something, maybe a razor that you used to shave her wool?" Blossom thought that she had narrowly avoided a SCARED card, but to her dismay, she was not that lucky. "Somewhere along the way, I think she might have died from her injuries? I'm not entirely sure how she died, but maybe it was the shock from being branded.."
With all 3 of the remaining girls alive receiving scared cards, it was up in the air as to who might be the next victim. Shockingly, it was our front runner, Blossom, who passed away during the night. However, the killer did not have a smooth night, as another person was supposed to be killed, but unfortunately for them, they were interrupted before they could finish the deed.
How will Blossom's passing shake up the dynamics in the game? Will the teams change up again? What twists does the killer have in store for the survivors this time around?
Find out the answers to these questions, as well as witness who will be eliminated PERMANENTLY tonight. Now that we're only two days away from the end, who will choke, and who will walk away with their lives and be the one to unmask..Whodunnit?
1:37
Drake tossed and turned in his bed, unable to sleep. After another few minutes of thrashing around, failing to get comfortable, Drake threw his sheets back and stood up. Drake walked over to his door, reaching for the knob. He stopped and went still. "What was that noise?" Drake asked himself quietly. He quickly took a deep breath, before throwing his door open, hoping to catch anyone who might be outside of his door by surprise.
"Huh," Drake said. "There's nobody there." Drake laughed quietly in relief. Being in this house had him on edge, now he was just simply imagining things that weren't there. Whenever Drake was unable to sleep, his usual solution was a midnight snack. Drake quietly shuffled down the hall towards the kitchen, one goal in mind.
Meanwhile, a flustered Killer hid behind a corner, shocked at being foiled from committing a second murder. "I can't do this without getting caught." The Killer hissed. "You'll pay for this, Drake." The Killer vowed, before turning on their heels and heading back to their room, disappointed at not being able to accomplish what they needed. This was the first time in the game that their plans had not gone off perfectly.
Drake crept into the kitchen, trying not to hit any of the appliances or cabinets. It was pitch black, thus he was being extra careful not to make any noise, in case there happened to be any killers lurking. "Phew," Drake let out a sigh as he safely made it to the freezer. He quickly pulled open the freezer, expecting to find some ice cream, instead he found chunks of Blossom.
Drake let out a bloodcurdling scream, tripping backwards and hitting his head on the counter. There was no time to worry about that, so he got up quickly and ran out of the kitchen in a panic. At this point, all of the guests had heard his scream and groggily made their way downstairs, including The Killer, who was pretending to have just been woken up. On the outside, they looked tired. Internally, they were enjoying Drake's terror. That'll teach him to meddle with them anymore.
Wallace quickly gathered the remaining six guests, already prepared with a letter from The Killer. "I'm sorry to inform you all, but you won't be getting any sleep tonight. In fact, this investigation will be happening right now." Wallace said. "In case you needed a reminder, it is now day 6. This game ends tomorrow." Wallace paused to let it sink in.
"By tomorrow, 4 of you will be dead." Wallace continued. "One of you will unmask whodunnit." Wallace added. "I hope you made the most of what little time you had to sleep because none of you will get to have a full nights sleep again until we're down to 3 of you left later tonight." Wallace said gravely.
"The Killer was very disappointed in all of your performances last night, so He or She would like to introduce what they are calling 'Hell Day'." Wallace paused, before continuing. "Until further notice, The Killer would like to make it known that if you are not the best case, then you will be receiving a Scared Card. On top of that, this next elimination will cause the death of two of you." Wallace stated.
The remaining guests all erupted at that revelation. There was chaos for a good few moments. It was way too early for them to be dealing with this, and the panic of the day that lies ahead of them was truly starting to sink in. They were close to the end, and it's only getting harder from here on out.
"SILENCE!" Wallace boomed, gaining everyone's attention once more. "Continuing on with Hell Day, The Killer also has some more twists in store, which will be revealed throughout the day." Wallace said, crossing his arms.
"Returning once again, you will not have knowledge of where you'll be investigating, and you also don't have any time to discuss it, as we are choosing areas and getting straight into the investigation." Wallace announced, to the shock of the rest of the guests. "Unlike previous cases, the only downtime you'll be receiving today is to discuss what you've found after the investigations have concluded. The Killer also is shortening your time to share such info in regards to it being Hell Day." Right as Wallace concluded his reading of the letter, Irene and Rosalina both promptly walked in, standing at his sides, no doubt having both received letters of their own.
"I know this is a lot to take in, but for your sake, I hope you all get it together quickly." Wallace said, his gaze softening. He truly did pity the position they were all in. It was clear The Killer was escalating, and who knows how much blood will be shed as a consequence. "If you would like to investigate area 1, please go and stand with Irene."
After some slight hesitation, Quinton stepped forward and quickly made his way to Irene. It was clear from the sweat dripping from his sleek body, he was shaken.
"I have no clue how to process this right now," Quinton said. "I have no idea what happened that set The Killer off this much, but it's clear there's going to be a lot of suffering today, and the fact that three of us won't live to see the daylight is terrifying." Quinton shuddered, trying to regain his composure. "I can't screw up today, my life is on the line more than ever, especially with this double kill looming."
Penny stepped forward as well, but she stopped. She quickly stepped back, and tapped Justin on his shoulder, and nudged forward. Justin was caught off guard for a bit, before he nodded and walked towards Irene.
"I was going to go to the area with Quinton, but that hasn't gone well for me the past two times." Penny stated. "He throws me off my game, if I want any chance of surviving this night, I need to be on my toes." Penny admitted.
"Is that all?" Wallace asked. Nobody else stepped forward, so Wallace continued on. "If you would like to investigate area 2, please go and stand with Rosalina."
Penny wasted no time stepping forward. She was tired and she just wanted to get this over with. "I'll go." She stated firmly, as if this was her intention all along. Justin rolled his eyes slightly, but didn't say anything. Luckily for him, Penny didn't catch his reaction.
"I think it's a bit funny that Penny believes we don't realize she's just trying to avoid Quinton at all costs." Justin stated. "She needs to get it together, or else she might die next, and I don't want to lose an ally here. It's too late in the game to replace a dead ally. It's three on three, every moment from here on out counts."
Tom also shuffled forward, looking down. It was a bit embarrassing to have to share a room with the person he had just flipped on, but there was no time to dwell on that. He had a murder to solve, and he was going to do his best to accomplish that.
"Obviously, I just screwed Penny and her team over badly last night." Tom stated. "I'm sure there will be plenty of hostility in this upcoming half hour, but I can't let that throw me off." Tom said. "It's do or die, this is the most high stakes case we've had this week, and I refuse to die when I'm just a day away from leaving this place with my life in tact." Tom reassured himself. "I will unmask this killer, mark my words."
Penny shot Tom a withering look as he got near her, but other than that, she kept to herself mostly. Tom smiled sheepishly as he moved away, eager to give the volatile 'mon her space.
"I don't want to investigate with any of that horrid team," Penny spat. "Especially that traitor, Tom. He's the worst of the worst. Considering the cowardly things Quinton has done this week, it doesn't surprise me that the rest of his team are just as bad, if not worse, than him." Penny grinned. "Tom fits right in, and I'll make him regret ever crossing me."
Wallace chose not to comment on the exchange. He had a job to do, and he didn't have the time to waste time on such petty drama. Clearing his throat, Wallace continued his instructions. "Lastly, you two that have not chosen an area yet may come with me. I assume you both would like to investigate area 3, am I correct in that assumption?" Wallace directed towards Missy and Drake. Internally, he sighed. This should be a recipe for an amazing time.
"Yes, you're correct." Missy affirmed, offering nothing else. Everyone was shocked, as they had expected her to take a jab at the person she spent all of yesterday antagonizing.
"No, I haven't suddenly become a nice person." Missy stated, tilting her spectral hat down slightly. "I'm only playing civil so that I don't push people away anymore." Missy added. "It's clear my behavior wasn't well received last night, and I really can't afford to lose my allies in situations this dire. All it'll take is one more rude comment to push my only allies away and then I'm on my own, I can't allow that to happen."
Drake said nothing, instead opting to just nod at Wallace. He didn't want to risk setting Missy off. If possible at all, he wanted to just make it through this without setting off the spirit. He quickly shuffled over to Wallace, choosing to stand on his other side, far away from Missy.
"I'm not too bothered by having to investigate a scene with Missy." Drake stated. "She's a nasty creature, but if she's gonna try and mess with me, it's at her expense. I'm not gonna react so she'll just be wasting crucial time she has to investigate. I'm focusing solely on myself today, I'll work with my new allies this time around, as I doubt I'll be able to get away with what I did last night, so I just need to get as much info as I can to take back to my people."
"Alright, let's not waste anymore time." Wallace said. "You may all follow your guides to the scene you've chosen to investigate." Wallace nodded at Irene and Rosalina, both of which quickly walked off. "Drake, Missy, let's go." With that concluded, he led his two charges to their scene.
AREA 1: Quinton and Justin (The Morgue)
Both boys stepped into the morgue. Having visited the morgue last murder, Justin had a bit of a game plan. Quinton, on the other hand, was displeased about being at the morgue, to say the least.
"This is so disgusting." Quinton spat. "There is a reason I have avoided the morgue at all costs." Quinton stated, dismay evident in his tone. "I'm not good with bodies, that was always Shawna's thing. I have no clue how to even approach this, let alone not throw up all over the corpse."
"You take the lead." Quinton said sheepishly, trying not to reveal how embarrassed and out of his element he was. Predictably, it did not go by unnoticed to the observant Justin. Justin giggled, but didn't say anything else. He walked over to the table before stopping. Unlike previous cases, there wasn't a whole body to investigate. On top of the table was a freezer. Justin didn't have to guess to know what was inside.
"Holy shit!" Justin said, in shock at the state of Blossom's corpse. Inside of the freezer was chunks of frozen Blossom. "What the hell happened to her?" Justin asked, not expecting an answer.
To his shock, Quinton did actually respond. He had no issues with Justin, just his ally Penny. It was clear the mood at this scene wasn't going to be nearly as tense as previous ones. "I don't know, dude. That's what we have to find out. I'm not too good with this, but I'll try to help out as much as I can, just let me know what you need me to do, and I'll do my best."
"Quinton is being awfully nice." Justin pointed out. "If he thinks he'll be able to get me to flip, he's dead wrong." Justin shrugged. "I'm not gonna pass on the help, however. It's clear this is gonna take some teamwork to do."
"Okay, just start pulling out chunks of Blossom." Justin said as he started to look around for something he could use to thaw pieces of Blossom with. Luckily for him, he found a blow dryer. "Not very convenient, but it'll do." Justin commented.
"Dude, I'm literally a fire type." Quinton remarked, before he heated up his back flames and quickly thawed some pieces of Blossom. He nodded at Justin and handed over the Blossom bits.
"Heh, that'll work too." Justin said sheepishly, before he quickly started investigating the pieces that had been thawed. He took a quick glance before separating the limbs. So far, he had both arms, one hand, a leg, her torso and her head.
"Seriously?" Justin cringed in disgust. It was clear that Blossom's head petals were ripped out of her head. The sight was grotesque and it filled Justin with rage. His former ally did not deserve this, despite how she had behaved when she was alive. No creature deserved that much disrespect of their bodies. "Can you thaw the rest of the pieces please?"
"I'm on it." Quinton said before he melted the remaining Blossom cubes. "Here's her other hand, both her feet, her missing leg...and her petals." Quinton sighed.
"Look, Blossom and I didn't really get along, but she didn't deserve this." Quinton said. "The Killer is just so despicable, and this is just making things harder to investigate."
"I'm not an expert at this or anything, but I don't think Blossom is normally this shriveled." Quinton said. "Also, look at this. There's two ends of a ziptie on both of her hands."
"Yeah, I'm assuming the Killer must have just chopped them apart." Justin offered. "Look at how sloppy these cuts are. It seems like she was cleaved."
"I agree, that does make sense." Quinton stated. "I hope she wasn't alive when this happened."
"Me either." Justin offered. "I just can't wrap my head around this. Why is she so shriveled up?" Justin pondered.
"It doesn't make any sense!" Justin said, throwing his hands up in the air. "What would have caused Blossom's body to shrivel like this. I do think this is what caused her death, because it's too everywhere not to have. I think the key to this case is going to be finding out what caused her to end up like this."
"Look at her forehead." Quinton pointed out. "It's clear that it's bruised." Quinton paused, before continuing. "Do you think she was hit?"
"It's a possibility." Justin said, but didn't offer much else. "Hold on, what's this?" Justin pointed at the little white fibers that seemed to gather around Blossom's mouth.
"Was she smothered?" Quinton asked, before grabbing tweezers. "They look like terrycloth."
"It's clear to me that Blossom was probably sedated." Quinton deduced. "That doesn't tell me much, but it's something."
Both boys just looked at each other, seemingly at a loss for words. There was more questions discovered than actual answers. However, answering those questions would have to wait, because the estate bell suddenly rang out, putting an end to their investigation.
AREA 2: Penny and Tom (The Crime Scene: The Kitchen)
The two former allies entered the crime scene, both quickly taking note that it was the kitchen. The fact that the place where their food was prepared was now a crime scene was unsettling, to say the least. Arceus knows they'd never be able to have another dinner without the reminder that one of the former contestants was brutally murdered here.
Tom didn't pay any mind to Penny, instead he chose to just hop right into the investigation. Right out of the gate, there were things that clearly wouldn't usually be in a kitchen. For example, the huge barrel of liquid nitrogen that was placed on the middle of the kitchen floor. Tom quickly scurried over to investigate it closer, Penny following close behind.
"I want to make sure Tom doesn't find anything and try to hide it from me." Penny said. "He's crafty, so I've decided that for this investigation, I'm just going to shadow him. If we miss things here, then oh well, but at least I'll have the peace of mind knowing that he won't have any tricks up his sleeve."
Right next to the barrel was a table. Blood stained the table, but there was no weapon nearby that could explain what caused the blood. "What happened here?" Tom asked himself, trying to think of the scenarios that could have gone in this kitchen. It was a nefarious scene, but he had to get to the bottom of things.
"It's clear something happened here." Tom stated. "There's blood on this table, but not an insane amount." Tom pondered. "I'm assuming that whatever caused that blood probably wasn't the murder weapon, hopefully Quinton and Missy can help make the picture a bit more clear for me."
Tom walked towards the trashcan in the kitchen, he wanted to be thorough. Penny watched him out of the corner of her eye, but didn't walk over to follow him. She wanted to investigate the fridge and the freezer.
"During Kenny's murder, I remember that there was something in the fridge that ended up being important." Penny recalled. "Given the liquid nitrogen, I have a feeling the clue will be in the freezer, so I'm going to check that first."
Penny nonchalantly walked over to the freezer, and pulled it open. Inside of the freezer was a tray. The tray looked like it used to hold ice cubes, but it was clear that whatever used to be in the tray were decent sized cubes. Whatever once occupied that space was much bigger than your standard ice cubes. Penny quickly closed the freezer and didn't give any indication that she had found anything. She then opened the fridge as if she was still looking for something pertaining to the case.
Luckily for Penny, Tom didn't think she had found anything useful in the freezer, so he didn't bother to check for himself. Instead, he turned his attention back to the trashcan/ He halfheartedly sifted through the garbage before he spotted what he thought was a speck of blood. Giving no indication that he had found anything, he quickly turned back to find where Penny was in the room. To his fortune, Penny was still looking through the fridge.
"Thanking my lucky stars that Penny is preoccupied." Tom smirked. "I know I saw some blood in that trashcan, so there has to be something in there. Hopefully I can just quickly investigate and then cover it back up. I hope it's the murder weapon of some sort."
Tom tried to discreetly investigate deeper, but to his misfortune, he ended up accidentally knocking the whole can over. "FUCK!" Tom hissed, yanking his tiny foot out of the way as a bloody cleaver nearly severed it off.
"What the hell?" Penny demanded as she spotted said cleaver clatter to the ground. "Now what do we have here?" Penny said with a smirk as she sauntered over to where the Tepig stood."
"Looks like that little Tepig needs to work on his stealth." Penny laughed. "Not only did he fail to hide such a vital clue from me, but he also almost just lost a limb as well!"
Penny quickly picked up the cleaver, wanting to inspect it. There was blood on its blade, but not any on the handle. Tom tried to look at it as well, but due to his height, he was struggling to get a good view. Penny took pity on him and handed the weapon to him, before she walked off to continue her investigation.
Penny went over the kitchen for a good few minutes, still not finding anything new. Right as she was about to give up, she finally noticed something. Right on the floor hidden underneath the counter was what looked like a petal. Penny soon recognized it as one of Blossom's. What was it doing on the floor? Before she could figure out the answer to that, the estate bell rung, signaling that investigation time was up.
"I feel like I didn't find as much as I had hoped." Tom said in frustration. "With the area twist, your fate really is up to luck. You could hit pay gold and choose a gold mine, or you could completely get screwed over with a horrible area, and it seems like I ended up with the latter."
AREA 3: Missy and Drake (The Last Known Whereabouts: Blossom's Room)
The tension between Missy and Drake as they entered the scene was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. Drake was as far away from the spirit as he possibly could be. Once they had safely arrived into the bedroom, Drake hustled to the opposite side of the room, clearly in a rush to put as much space between his former ally and himself as possible.
"Look, it's not that I'm worried of Missy or anything." Drake said. "I just want to give her her space and conduct my own investigation. I know how volatile she is, I don't have the time to engage with her, I have a murder to solve."
Missy noticed his desperation to get away from her and chuckled to herself, but didn't offer any other reaction. Similar to Drake, Missy was focused on the investigation. Missy floated to the door they had entered through.
"To be completely transparent, I'm not going to instigate anymore conflict." Missy admitted. "It took way too much energy from me last night, and the results of it clearly didn't pay off for me. I need to put my all into cracking this case, everyone else can do as they please, but I wont be contributing to the negative energy anymore. It's everybody for themselves, so I need to put all of my time into keeping myself alive."
Missy noticed the little rod device under the door almost immediately. She was trying to figure out exactly what it was, but she couldn't. She looked a bit more before deciding to step outside of the door. On the other side was the rest of the device. There were instructions on it. She read them. After finishing, she quickly figured out that the little rod was a lock picking device. The locks on Blossom's room door was the type where you just had to turn the knob from the inside to deactivate the lock, which explained why The Killer wasn't able to pick the lock normally.
Missy simply floated back into the room without saying a word. She didn't want to give any indication that she found anything, so she just resumed her investigation as normal. Drake, who hadn't had any luck so far, noticed Missy re-enter the room out of the corner of his eye, so he went outside of the room to see what she had found.
"Well, it's clear she isn't going to offer anything she finds here to me." Drake stated. "I didn't expect her to, but that's very clear now. The lines have been drawn, and it seems like we're sticking to said sides." Drake shrugged. "That's completely fine by me, I had no intentions of trying to work with my old team either way."
As Drake investigated the lock picking mechanism outside of Blossom's room, Missy quickly made her way over to the bed. She could easily tell that Blossom had a sleepless night. On the nightstand, there was an open notebook with a pencil in the middle of it, and one look at the bedsheets would tell you that Blossom was rolling around.
"I'm a bit stumped." Missy admitted. "It's clear Blossom didn't get any sleep today, and she was wide awake. How did The Killer break into her room without her noticing? Her bed is facing the door, she would have had to hear her lock being picked, and she would have definitely seen The Killer enter..so why didn't she do anything about it?"
Missy was about to move on before she saw the trash can. Was it possible that there was a clue waiting for her? It was worth a shot. Missy calmly floated over to the trashcan. Drake had now moved onto the bathroom to investigate, so for the moment, the coast was clear.
Missy peeked into the trashcan and smirked. The can did in fact hold a clue, two to be exact. Inside of the trash can was a terry cloth rag, and...a gas mask?
"What the hell is that doing in there?" Missy whispered to herself, not wanting to alert Drake that she had found a clue. She didn't have to investigate closer to realize that the rag was probably used to smother Blossom, but it still posed new questions for her. "If Blossom was sedated like that, why hadn't she fought back? The killer would have had to rush her, but they couldn't have caught her by surprise...unless.." Missy gasped as she had a revelation.
"Blossom didn't even notice The Killer break into her room?" Missy asked. "I don't buy it! Seeing the gas mask gave me an idea, I believe The Killer used some sort of chemical to sedate Blossom or something of that sort, that way they could break in without worrying about Blossom, and they could just finish her off with the rag and continue their murder after. The question is, how did The Killer administer said chemical?"
Missy floated to the air vent in Blossom's room, trying to find some sort of clue that could help confirm or deny her suspicions. Missy didn't really know exactly what to look for, as she wasn't an expert at rigging vents, but she hoped she'd know it when she found it. From first glance, the vent looked normal. There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, but then she noticed one of the screws on the vent was slightly more loose than the rest.
Missy quickly got the screw off and looked deeper into the vent. It was dark, but she could faintly see what looked like a canister. She didn't know what this meant, but she knew it had to be something important. Knowing she didn't have too much time before Drake returned, she quickly screwed the vent back on, before going to join him in the bathroom.
"I feel like I found something huge!" Missy said excitedly. "I know I have a huge lead over Drake now, and I hope that will keep me alive."
While Missy was discovering things in the bedroom, Drake had been conducting his own investigation of the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom, it was clear the shower had been used. There was steam on both the mirror, and the shower glass. There was something out of place, however. Firstly, none of the towels had been used.
"That's really strange." Drake said. "I don't think Blossom willingly took a shower, there's no soap out or anything. I don't really know what this means, but I think it's significant."
"Huh, what is this?" Drake asked himself as he spotted something on the shower glass. There seemed to be a Blossom face shaped imprint on the shower door. It seemed like Blossom had tripped and hit her face on the glass, as Drake also saw some blood. "Why didn't she use her hands to stop her fall?" Drake asked himself, noticing the lack of hand imprints anywhere.
"What was it that kept her in this shower?" Drake asked himself, before he faceplanted. "I should probably look inside of the shower, heh." Drake opened the shower door before peaking inside. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and it stumped Drake. He quickly opened the door again, before shutting it. There didn't seem to be any sort of lock mechanism trapping him inside, so he assumed that Blossom could have gotten out if she wanted to. "What happened here...?" Drake wondered.
On a whim, Drake decided to start the shower. A stream of water shot onto his face, disorienting him for a moment. "Shit!" Drake spluttered, spitting water out of his mouth.
He smacked his lips before noticing something odd about the taste of the water. "It's salty?" Drake gaped.
"This is not normal!" Drake said excitedly. "This has to be a clue of some sort, not only did that water shoot out harder than normal, but that water was definitely saltwater! I don't know what its purpose is, but I know it has to be the key to something."
Drake quickly left the shower, and right as he did Missy stepped inside of the bathroom. The two stared at each other for a second, but before either of them could react, the estate bell rang. Both investigators were leaving with very vital clues that the other did not have, but neither knew it.
This has been a very long time coming, I know. Life has been crazy for me, it's my senior year, I've got a job. Combined with writer's block, there definitely were some curveballs thrown at me. However, I don't quit on my projects so I will be finishing this story. Updates may be infrequent, but I had a stroke of motivation for this murder, and I'm just riding the wave now that I've figured out how I wanted to approach this chapter. Due to the length of this case as I try to outdo myself with every murder, making each upcoming kill more creative and twisted, I split this chapter into two. This part has all the way up until the investigation end, and the next chapter will have sharing info and everything after that, including the next murder. Thank you for your patience in waiting for this update. I'm unsure if anyone still reads or remembers this fic, but if you do, surprise! Here's an update! I'm also glad to inform you that I've already started writing the second part of this murder, and I should be done with this. Combined with the fact that thanksgiving break just started for me, I'll hopefully be making a lot of progress with this story and possibly finish it by the end of this year! No promises, but look forward to some more frequent updates from me.
