Two months had passed since Mahiru became a subclass. No one saw or heard from him , which was probably a good thing for now. Of course those who didn't know what happened had gotten worried. When the teen didn't answer any of his uncle's phone calls , and never returned any messages either , Tohru Shirota got worried. Ryusei and Koyuki also were worried when Mahiru vanished. Soon an investigation happened , but no one could find him or answer what happened to Mahiru. The only ones outside of Tsubaki's little circle who knew what really happened were the other servamp's and their eves. Despite deciding Mahiru was the enemy and a monster he would kill if necessary, he also refused to forget about his eve. Mahiru looked at the servamp as a friend , and not a was kind compassionate , and the only one who was able to make Sleepy Ash think that maybe he really wasn't a monster after all. But now he was gone.I t probably would have been best to forget about Mahiru. The more he remembers the more pain he'd feel. But he chose not to forget. He wanted to remember his eve. He wanted to remember Mahiru's smile. He wanted to remember the good times , even the bad ones.
Perhaps as a way to not ever forget him , Sleepy Ash still kept the bell Mahiru had given him around his neck. The servamp of sloth hoped to never cross Mahiru's path now. But he also secretly wished to see him one last time. Not to fight him , just a form of goodbye. He missed Mahiru , he even missed the name he had given him.
Lilly and Misono refused to forget him as well. Both missed him , and wished there was another way. They wanted him back somehow , even if he was a vampire. Tetsu tried his best to keep optimistic , but was still upset. Hugh though he himself wasn't that close to Mahiru felt sorry over the loss , and worried about how Sleepy Ash was taking it. Even Lawless didn't like seeing his brother like this. Mikuni and JeJe. . . well they were too busy with their own was in the morning and Sleepy Ash got up to eat. As he did , he looked at the bell around his neck. He held it gently in his hand staring at it. "I wish I could talk to the old Mahiru again. If only just one more time." He mumbled softly as he left the room and went to the dining Ash was walking to the Alicien Mansion late one night. He was told that some of Hugh's subclass had seen Tsubaki recently and that the servamps should get together to make plans on how to defend themselves against any possible new attacks from the youngest servamp. The servamp was taking his time getting there , and was over a half hour late for the meeting. As he walked down the streets which was dark with very little light coming from street lamps and occasional headlights from passing cars , the only noise he could hear was his own footsteps. He knew Lawless , Hugh , Lilly , and even JeJe was going to be there with their eves. He wasn't sure about The Mother or World's End,
The servamp walked by a park on the way to Misono's when he saw something out of the corner of his eye. Well , more like someone. It was Sakuya Watanuki , Tsubaki's subclass that use to be friends with Mahiru. "What is he doing here?" Sleepy Ash wondered out loud , though quiet enough that Sakuya didn't hear him , or even see him yet. Sakuya seemed to be looking for someone. Sleepy Ash's eyes widened when he saw who it was Sakuya must of been looking for. Sakuya walked up to a certain brunette. The two subclass began to talk and Sleepy Ash couldn't hear them well , so against better judgement he tried to get was a little surprised that Sakuya wished to speak to him alone. Especially considering his recent suspicion that the fellow subclass must hate him. Sakuya took the newest subclass away from the others so none of them would be able to stop him from returning Mahiru's memories. "So what do you want Sakuya?" The brunette asked quietly standing in the park by a bench. "I uh , I'm going to try and restore your memories Mahiru." Sakuya said calmly looking at him . "Wait you can do that? But Tsubaki said that it cannot be fixed , that my amnesia was permanent." Mahiru said , though he was hoping Sakuya would succeed. Mahiru wanted to remember who he was , and what his life was like before he ended up with Tsubaki.
Sakuya for a brief moment looked mad when Mahiru mentioned Tsubaki. "Tsubaki says allot of things. You shouldn't believe everything he and the others tell you. Besides I'm not sure if it will work , but I am willing to try. We have to do it away from them , or they would try and stop me." Sakuya explained looking at Mahiru. Mahiru nodded and stayed quiet so Sakuya could use his hypnosis on him. Sleepy Ash got close enough to realize Sakuya was doing something to Mahiru , what appeared to be some form of hypnosis. As he stepped closer a twig snapped under his boot. Sakuya looked up noticing the servampHis eyes widened with worry that Sleepy Ash might attack him and Mahiru. Sleepy Ash not even sure himself what he would do next stepped closer to the two subclass , when Mahiru's large red eyes opened as he woke up from Sakuya's spell. "Ngh." Mahiru moaned softly as his eyes adjusted. He saw Sakuya standing next to him , and the servamp of sloth not too far from Sakuya. "Kuro?" Mahiru asked his mind still clouded slightly. The servamp gasped. (He , he just called my name. Does he remember me? ) The servamp wondered stepping closer to his old eve. "Mahiru?" Mahiru looked at Sleepy Ash , then his friend Sakuya with a puzzled looking trying to remember what happened. "Kuro what . . . " Mahiru stopped as he began to remember.
(I died didn't I? And I became . . . I became Tsubaki's subclass. I'm a vampire? ) Mahiru suddenly felt weak and dizzy. Perhaps from Sakuya's spell , or maybe the stress and realization of what was happening. The teen collapsed , luckily for him Sakuya caught him in his arms. Sleepy Ash rushed over to Sakuya and Mahiru's side. " The shock was probably too much. I brought him here to try and restore his memories." Sakuya explained still holding Mahiru. Sleepy Ash smiled knowing , there was now still hope for Mahiru. If he remembered , then he was no longer a mindless slave of Tsubaki. But at the same time , he was still Tsubaki's subclass , and the servamp may not give Mahiru up so easily.
