Oh, little liars.
Season One; Episode Ten.
Aria laid in her hospital bed in a deep sleep, the first sleep she had properly gotten since Alison went missing. She shifted, trying to get herself a little more comfortable. "Are you trying to sleep or not?" A familiar voice said as Aria opened her eyes in confusion...she gasped at the sight of Alison...it was like a fever dream. "Ali?" She said as she sat up, eyeing the blonde. Alison smiled at the brunette, leaning over more. "Oh Aria, sweet, sweet Aria." She cooed at her and brushed the side of her face.
"Wha...how?" Aria was confused and terrified. "I can't tell you everything yet...but you are smart." Alison told her as she admired Aria's beauty, "Goodnight Aria." Alison said before she disappeared.
Aria opened her eyes once again and looked over at the clock on the hospital wall..it was barely 11 am. She frowned a bit, sitting up, and looked around the room. Did she really see Ali? She felt conflicted before her eyes landed on a vase of flowers...she carefully reached over and took the card. She nearly jumped out of her own skin when the door opened, and the other girls walked in, minus Claire. "Jesus! You scared me." She said as she let out a sigh of relief.
Spencer walked over and raised an eyebrow, "Who brought flowers?" She asked curiously as they all sat around Aria. "Not sure.." Aria said as she opened the card, pulling out the contents..it was an old photo of them with Alison.
"Who would send that?" Emily asked, a little confused as she leaned over to take a better look. Aria flipped the photo over, and it read: Unit 23, Lancaster Drive, Rosewood. "Oh my god...guys...I think this is the location we are searching for." Aria said, showing it to them.
Spencer took the photo and examined it, "Holy crap." She mumbled under her breath and looked at the others, "What do we do?" Hanna asked curiously.
"We can check it out in the morning." Emily told them as she wanted to know what it was, what did A have on them? "One of us should stay with Aria." Spencer told them as she did not like the idea of leaving Aria alone, "I can stay." Hanna offered with a small smile.
"What about Claire? Anyone heard from her?" Aria asked and leaned up a bit, "No, she didn't come home last night...I drove by the DiLaurentis house and it looks empty." Hanna said as she was worried about her sister now. "What do you mean empty?" Emily asked, confused, and looked at Hanna.
"As in, I think the DiLaurentis family ditched town." Spencer told them as she did live next door to them, "It's a little odd, we all know Jason hated Ali." Emily said as she sighed; she worried that Jason had hurt Claire. "Can we not think the worst?" Hanna asked and stood up, pacing a bit. "If she doesn't come to the game tonight, we'll take more action."
"Hanna, I know that you want Claire to be happy, but we have to consider that Jason is a suspect." Spencer told Hanna and stood up, crossing her arms, "A major suspect." Emily added as she was with Spencer on this one, Jason was sketchy, and she didn't like him.
Hanna did not want to hear it, "Guys, I honestly don't think Jason is guilty of anything." Aria chimed in as she looked between her friends; tensions in the room were high. "Aria." Spencer said almost in a scolding tone, "No, why would Jason target any of us?" Aria asked as it made no sense, "We are...were Alison's closest friends." Emily pointed out and crossed her arms.
"I just don't see Jason putting bees in flowers to attack me." Aria said with a severe tone, crossing her arms, "You never know." Spencer said as she was unwillingly letting Ian's words get to her.
_"Maybe we should focus on the location." Emily said in hopes of easing everyone's minds, "Em's right." Hanna said as she was tired of having the current conversation. "Okay okay, let's meet in the morning." Spencer suggested and bit her lip, "I don't like the idea of leaving Aria alone."
"We can talk to Claire later and make a plan." Hanna suggested and sat down in one of the chairs as the door opened and the door opened, causing them all to look back...Ezra Fitz was standing there with a few goodies. "Oh uh...sorry, I can come back." He said with a charming smile. "Mr. Fitz." Aria said in shock as this was a very public area.
"I just wanted to check in...is it a bad time?" Ezra asked curiously before eyeing the girls, and he wasn't sure about them. "Oh no, we are just heading out.." Spencer said she looked at her friends before they all nodded in agreement and hugged Aria before leaving the two alone.
Emily looked back as the door shut and then looked at her friends, "Should we tell her mom?" She asked before looking towards her mother, who was waiting in the other room. "I assume she knows...she can see the room.." Spencer said, although she was still a bit skeptical.
Aria smiled at the man, "I'm shocked, this isn't exactly private." She teased a bit as Ezra walked over to her, "I just wanted to see you, and make sure you were alright." He said as he sat the goodies aside and leaned down, kissing Aria on the lips, causing her to blush hard.
"I am, a little hazy, but I should be back to normal in a few days." Aria said she looked up at him; she couldn't understand why she no longer felt that spark between them.
"I hope so. I miss seeing your face in my class." Ezra said with a slight grin and kissed her once again, laying his hand on her thigh, causing Aria to shift a bit. Aria was trying her best to feel something. She pulled away from a little. "I uhh, I really enjoy this, but my mom is less than 2 feet away.." She pointed out as she did not want her mother to find out about this. "Oh come on, it's better than my classroom." He said as he kissed her once again, sliding his hand higher.
Aria frowned a bit, pulling away once again, "Ezra, I can't.." She felt uncomfortable, but she did not know how to voice that. "Aria." Ezra said with a more serious tone, but as he went to kiss her again, the door opened, and he quickly jumped up.
"Did I interrupt?" Noel asked and raised an eyebrow, eyeing the teacher, before looking at Aria, who had a look of relief on her face. "Oh no, what are you doing here?" Ezra asked with a raised eyebrow back. "Aria is a friend, and since I found her...I thought I'd pay a visit." Noel pointed out and made a point to see the bag in his hand down; Noel felt like he was in competition with the older man.
"I'll leave you two alone then." Ezra said before heading out, slamming the door behind him, causing Aria to jump a bit out of her skin.
Noel looked at the petite brunette and frowned, "I brought a bagel, and some coffee." He said as he opened the bag, causing Aria to look at him. "You didn't have to.." She said as she blushed a bit more than usual. "It was more of a want, I...feel bad for being a jerk." He admitted and sat down, offering Aria the food and coffee.
"I'm just...it's been a rough year." Aria admitted and took a sip of the coffee, closing her eyes at the taste. "Thank you." She said and looked over at him, "Of course, so what's with you and Fitz?" Noel asked curiously as he wasn't stupid.
"It's nothing, just...he's nice." Aria said although she was rethinking that a lot. "He's not worth it.." Noel said before looking at her; he wasn't stupid. "What are you talking about?"
"Aria, come on...I see the way you look at him." Noel pointed out and leaned back in his chair. "Noel, please." Aria started as if she was prepared to beg. "Relax. I'm not a snitch, just...be careful."
Spencer plopped down on her bed, taking in the silence as nobody else was home for once; she had the entire house to herself. She pulled out that photo and looked at it for a moment; they were so young back then, young and naive, that was the summer before high school...the same summer that Spencer found out some dark family secrets.
That was the summer Spencer found out that she had a twin sister, and they decided to switch places...right before the night Ian took advantage of Spencer.
Spencer suddenly realized she had a perfect opportunity; she climbed off her bed and made her way down the hall to her sister's bedroom. She took a breath and stepped inside, taking everything in...she carefully started to look around.
Spencer was careful about touching anything, her fingers running across one of the bookcases before her eye caught onto something. She took it out and opened it...the front page reading the N.A.T. Club. She quickly hid the book and headed out, shutting the door back. She practically to her bedroom...her gut told her it was connected.
She shut her door and locked it before sitting on her bed and opening the book, flipping the first page...it was a list of initials:
IT
GR
DW
EF
EK
DS...
The list was long, and it made Spencer feel sick...what did this mean?
Later that night, Spencer sat in the locker room, waiting for Claire as she worried about her friend. She adjusted her uniform, "Sorry I am late." Claire said as she was dressed and already putting her stuff away in her locker. "Where have you been?" Spencer asked and stood up. Claire took a sip of her water bottle, "I just needed some time, Jason ditching hurt more than needed." She told her friend, but Spencer could smell the alcohol. "Right, well after the game, can we talk?" She asked as Claire was fidgeting, "Uh sure, about?" The brunette asked and fixed her hair, but as Spencer started to speak, Ian walked into the room. "Alright ladies, it's game time. let's whoop some East Laker ass!" Ian said, trying to pump the girls up; most cheered before running out to start the first game of the season...
Claire followed suit, cheering along with a little more than usual. "This should be interesting." Spencer mumbled and sighed, following finding her position.
Claire felt sick suddenly, almost as if her insides were on fire. She ignored it, but her vision was blurry, causing her to stumble a little as the game started. The Marin girl did not have time to process what was happening before everything went black...
Thank you for reading! Thoughts? What do you think happened with Claire? Who do you think was involved with the NAT club? The next chapter will have more drama than you can imagine, and maybe even a POV?
This chapter took a much different turn than I had planned so I hope you enjoyed it.
