The Summit Of My Desires

Chapter 26-Make Of Two Hearts.

The Final Chapter of this story! Anna and Elsa have a conversation and manage to put the past behind them as the latest (and the last) crisis ends. And then Liam and Elsa finally get their Happy Ending. Massive AU.

Storybrooke. The Last Crisis. As Ingrid is being Defeated.

It's worth noting that there is a story going on behind the scenes here. It will involved Emma Swan finding out what happened to her foster mother. It will involve her memories coming back and it will involve a mad dash rush to Ingrid to tell her that she is loved and wanted by her sisters after Regina unearths a scroll. It's done all within an hour. It's done before a spell is even cast and Ingrid does not wait for the other blonde women who waves ice from her fingers and her red headed sister because having known Elsa for years as both Ella and as Elsa in the shadows and in the front and Ingrid knows…she knows that Liam isn't that Duke. That he is going to be a good husband and a good father and that Arendelle is going to have a good Queen, even though it's not the one that she thought she'd had. Because there is a Queen and there will be the Queen's sister, their roles reversed and a legacy that lives on beyond three young woman and their lack of understanding and acceptance about each other.

That however, is a story for another time and right now Elsa doesn't care about this or that or any of it. Right now she's doing something that her mother could never do and is clutching her sister to her with all the might and love that she thought she'd lost. Because it doesn't matter now. Anna and Elsa are reunited and what does it matter that something is going on, on the other side of town?

(It did. But that is a story for another time.)

Elsa gripped Anna with a fierce kind of intensity she had not expected. It was as if the years and the drama and the magic that had separated them and tortured them and given them both so much as much as it had taken away, had faded away and they were small girls again.

Kristoff was also there but Elsa found that she didn't mind that either. She hugged him taking him by surprise no doubt and then wincing. They were both very wet and Elsa was a woman whose magic came out in the form of ice. There was only so much help she was going to be in this situation.

"I'm sorry" Anna said once they'd pulled back. "I'm sorry Elsa, I swear I never wanted to never do any of that. It was like being in a dream, or in a nightmare and there was no way I could control what I was doing. I know your not dangerous or any of the other things that I said and…she made me with that spell"

"Yes I know" Elsa said tucking her arm around her again like they had done when they had been kids. "I know it now Anna. And I promise you it's ok. Hello Kristoff"

"Hello Elsa" Kristoff said sitting down on a log and attempting to pour sea water out of his boots.

"It's good to see you looking so well."

"You too" Elsa replied watching him and resisting the urge to roll her eyes heavenwards. Kristoff had not changed. It was the same odd mixture of comforting and irritating all at once.

"Where are we…what happened…did you get the Snow Queen…and Elsa, what are you wearing?"

Elsa smiled feeling like she was going to laugh and cry all at once.

"It's ok" she said finally wiping her eyes and beaming at her sister. "It's ok Anna. I've got time to tell you, we've got time to talk about everything and anything. And I've got someone I want you to meet. Someone I really want you to meet"

"That explains the ring" Kristoff muttered reaching into his back pocket and pulling out what looked like a flask.

"Yeah it does" Elsa said beaming at him. "Also I've decided to abdicate. Congratulations King Consort"

Kristoff inhaled half of his flask and then promptly spat it down himself.

And Elsa laughed and laughed.

They walked back into town…into the place that was called a town as Elsa told her when snow started falling. Elsa looked up with a mournful expression and Anna knew it to mean that their Aunt Ingrid was dead.

She didn't know how and she didn't care. She had no idea what was going on and this was such a strange place with strange looking people but Elsa did seem to know what was happening. She smiled at people, waved at people, shared relief with people who didn't look at all bothered by the her and Kristoff walking along side her looking very wet and feeling very, very cold.

"To be near a warm fire right now" Kristoff muttered. Anna grinned linking their fingers together as Elsa pushed forwards, clearly looking for someone.

"She seems really happy doesn't she?"

"Yes" Kristoff said quietly. "And she deserves it. And…and we can do a good job with Arendelle. I can be the kind of man who—"

Anna cut him off with a kiss. She knew that.

"I know" she said quietly running a thumb down the side of his cheek and feeling it lift against the skin. "And we can do a good job. We can do a really good job. We can make an Arendelle that will live on for generations."

"Liam!"

They were pulled out of their mini-embrace to see Elsa throw her arms around a man who pulled her into his arms and crushed their faces together with one swoop. And Anna who was happily in love, happily engaged and looking forwards to her future nuptials found that she was smiling brightly and wiping away her tears a little at the look of utter joy on her sister's face.

"He's big" Kristoff said bluntly. Anna rolled her eyes though she had to admit that he was right. The man…no Liam was big, and built like he had been through a few wars. Clearly he adored her sister and she had a support system around her, friends who were hugging her and Anna could see all that was making her unhappy in Arendelle was gone here.

"She's not going to come back with us" she said finally.

"No" Kristoff said finding her hand and giving it a squeeze. "But she's your older sister. She's in her new life and her new found happiness. And she's in your life now too. The two of you can rebuild your relationship to what it was before Ingrid cast your spell. And we will always be family. But the times have moved on and we have to move on with them"

Anna turned to look at him again.

"When did you get so smart?"

"Oh I've always been smart. Ask Sven he'll tell you…well if he could—"

He was cut off again.

Anna had kissed him.

Rather…enthusiastically.

It was ok though. Everyone else in this town seemed to be kissing as well.

Storybrooke. After The Final Crisis. The Happy Ending Part One.

Funnily enough planning a wedding was more stressful than running a country.

Anna when she had heard Elsa say this through a mirror that Regina had enchanted so they could talk despite the realms they were in had laughed in her white gown and had told Elsa that really it was not.

In truth Elsa might have been exaggerating. The dress had been the most stressful choice. The rest of it had been done by Snow White who had been so thrilled at the thought of the wedding that she had planned the entire thing. She had carved out a little space in the forest where everything was woody and open and natural and there was a constant canopy of flowers overhead and the carpet was cream. Killian with a look of abject glee had dragged Liam off the night before. Their honeymoon was the same house that Belle and Gold had used and the whole concept of planning a wedding had taken nearly one month which all things considering Elsa thought—was rather lucky.

But that's a story for after this bit.

She dressed the day of her wedding calmly. Anna and Alice, the two girls who were happily married to Liam's bar staff had come to help out along with Alice's daughter Lily. Anna had been there too though she had been happily sampling Granny's autumn hot chocolate recipes in the corner more than she had been actually helping. She had settled into the mantle of Queen like she was born to it just like Elsa had always suspected she would have done. She liked that. Liked that the people had a Queen who they could trust and warm to. It was not nor was it ever hubris or arrogance to acknowledge that, that was never going to be her.

She loved the life she had now without a crown but rather the Grand Duchess of Arendelle (a title forced on her if she was being honest by her sister—though heaven forbid there was no chance of her soon to be husband ever taking the title of Grand Duke), the life that had her in a small apartment in a small town pulling her wedding dress over her curling hair that had little pearls threaded through them and absolutely no crown.

Elsa's dress was simple. She had not gone for the big princess ball gown that so many before her had gone for but rather something simple. Her dress was long sleeved and white with a v neck and a bow that went all around it and to the side it was easy to move in and her hair was curled but Alice with a grin had put little braids into one side so the blonde was falling over one shoulder. Her flowers were simple lily of the valley and white roses and her shoes a gift from Snow and David. It was all simple, all easy, Anna had bought her some earrings from Arendelle, diamonds topped by a single pearl and she had stared at them knowing that they were her mother's before putting them in.

Now was not the day to dwell on the past.

Now she thought her hand on her stomach allowing herself to grin with the delight of hiding the secret for just a little bit longer, now was a time for looking towards the future.

And what a glorious future it was going to be.

Liam was waiting for her at the top of the isle Killian next to him beaming. Both of them were in dark grey suits with black ties though someone (Emma) had done a good job of getting Killian into one. Everyone was there. All her friends and her family. Emma with her own family she'd fought so hard to get, Henry next to her grinning, Regina with her happy ending in the form of Robin and his son her own ring glinting on her finger. Snow White and Charming finally able to live a good life with their baby and their daughter. Gold (who flashed her a genuine smile) and Belle able to move on from the past and look towards a future. Will his arm creeping around Anna with that soft look that he reserved only for her, Alice and Cyrus and their daughter, Granny her eyes glistening whipping out several tissues for nearly all of the dwarfs (even Leroy had eyes overbright—though he said to anyone who was listening it was down to the fact he was recovering from a cold), Ruby, Archie, Whale, the twelve dancing princesses, the Merry Men, Mulan, Kristoff looking like he wanted to cry but wouldn't and her sister. Her baby sister the Queen a married woman in herself holding her hand and giving her away to the one man who she couldn't take her eyes off.

And then finally Elsa of Arendelle, once Ella, one the Queen, finally, became the one person she wanted to be most of all—Mrs Liam Jones.

His kiss when he gave it to her was as light as that very first one and perhaps for that and that alone, all the more sweeter.

That night she slid under the covers and Liam's hand found her stomach. He held it there for a moment and she had to bite down hard on her lip to hide her grin. It was impossible to keep a secret from Liam for long especially when he knew her body as well as she did.

"Elsa…is it just me or?"

"No" she said cutting off across him with a giggle. "No. I was going to tell you tonight…I'm pregnant"

Liam's smile was wider than she had ever seen it. His kiss this time was demanding and passionate and Elsa melted into the embrace and knew that she was a woman on the cusp of her happy ending with everything to play for.

And they carried on a little bit more into the happy ending.

Of course it was not the end. Her pregnancy especially after her miscarriage had set the two of them on edge that something was going to go wrong. The town coming down from one period of disaster and then bracing themselves for another found that actually there was nothing heading their way and their old enemies Regina and Rumple were content to sit in Granny's talking about the good old days.

It was all rather jarring. They had lived at such a knife's edge for so long that when Elsa got through her pregnancy with little to no issues (they had decided not to find out the sex), with no magic escaping with the mood swings and the sickness and with little to no incidents it was all plain smoothing until she had to tell Liam in the middle of Regina and Robin's wedding that once they had walked down the isle as husband and wife he'd have to get her to the hospital.

Now.

Liam's reaction had been more…well…loud. It had ended with David driving, Elsa in the delivery room and Killian saying loudly he was going for a drink if this was going to take longer than an hour and to cap it all of Emma having to break up a fight when Liam tried to throw his younger brother out of the window when the strain of the .

But then again when Jasmine Eleanor Jones was born at three in the morning it was all worth it. She had a tuft of blonde hair and blue eyes and when she looked up at Liam her little fingers curled over the blanket that Granny had given them at the baby shower a sudden rush of ice hit Killian on the head.

Liam declared he had never been more proud.

Storybrooke. The Happily Ever After (Finally).

Time moved on as it always did. Anna gave Arendelle the heir it needed—the one without magic and Elsa found that she was happy for her sister and happy for the people of Arendelle. Liam suddenly woke up after a week of sleeping deep and said with wonder in his tone that he was no longer having nightmares about Neverland. And perhaps what everyone saw coming expect themselves—Emma and Killian got married.

They stood on the rooftop Jasmine in Elsa's arms dummy in mouth for once well behaved about wearing a dress, Liam standing next to Killian who had gone green. He caught her eye and winked and Elsa standing next to her friends and her family, their daughter in her arms grinned back.

This was where she belonged. This was where she lived and loved and had built her family and her confidence and her life back up from scratch. This was her home. The summit of everything she had built. And she loved the man she had married, the man who was looking at her as if she was gold.

It was not a small thing considering all that had been seen and done in this town and before it, happiness.

Jasmine cooed a little as Emma reached Killian beaming and Elsa let her daughter rest her head against her shoulder and she and Liam carried on into another small moment of their Happy Ever After.

And there you go. I hope you have enjoyed this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it and I hope that you enjoy this final chapter. Again a massive thank you to all of you who have encouraged me to carry on with this story.
