MIDNIGHT STROLLS AND THIEVING TROLLS
You know when you wake up and everything seems dark, but as soon as you open your eyes its like someone lit a candle in your face.
Well that's what I felt like. I try to bring my hand up to wype away the tear's but something seems to be preventing me.
I blink a few time to try adjust to the light before looking down to see an arm wrapped around my stomach. I then look behind me to see it's Kili. Shocked I try to get out of his embrace but I fail miserably.
"Comfy?" I hear a voice say. Although you can probably guess who it was. Fili.
"It's not funny." It really wasn't. I didn't want the rest of the company to start spreading rumors about us.
"Oh it is." He said while laugh.
"Sshhh keep you voice down." I said trying desperately to free myself without waking him. Fili clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle his laughing which I was greatful for.
Even if Fili was right. It was incredibly comfy being safely tucked up in his strong warm arms...CARA! Control your thought's.
As soon as he loosened his hold on me I was up and gone as quick as a flash. Well, as quick as I could be.
"You do realize you're blushing." I here Rose say to me holding a straight face.
"I...no, no. It, it was the...sun. Yesterday. I, uh, just got sunburn." Seriously that was the best I could come up with. Sunburn. By all the Valar, Kili what have you done to me.
"Really? Alright. Whatever you say" Well at least she's talking to me. Even if she is only trying to make me blush.
"Do...you forgive me yet...hmm...pretty please" I say batting my eyelashes at her. If this didn't work I'll eat my guitar.
"Well..." oh dear.
"I know you were only thinking about keeping me safe, but I can look after myself. Alright, I forgive you." She says I pull her into a bone crushing hug to make sure she didn't change her mind.
"But I will get my own back on you" She says climbing onto Luna.
"Oh I don't doubt that." I say under my breathe picking up my guitar and strapping it onto Luna's saddle before climbing on behind Rose.
"Everyone ready to go." Thorin shouts to the company. A few disgruntled yes' make their way back to Thorin.
As we move on I notice Kili walk his pony up along side us. Oh no what if he knows he was holding onto me. That'll just be awkward.
"Welcome to the company Rose." Phew. Narrowly avoided that one.
"Thanks Kili." She says showing of her best smile. She's always had really nice teeth. All straight and white. And not just nice, I mean really nice. Like...what am I doing, I'm talking to myself about teeth. Great start to the morning Cara.

Raining, raining...Still raining.
"Mister Gandalf, can you not do something about this deluge." I hear Dori shout over the sound of, wait. You guessed it...Rain.
"It is raining master dwarf and it will continue to do so until the rain is done. If you wish to change the weather of the world then I suggest you find another wizard." Gandalf days pointedly. Ooo he definitely put Dori in his place.
"Are there any." Bilbo perks up.
"What" Gandalf asks confused.
"Other wizards"
"There are five of us. The greatest of our order is Saruman the white. Then are the two blues...you know I've quite forgotten their names." Gandalf sumerised. I can't say I'm surprised that he's forgotten. I mean how old is he.
"And who's the fifth." Bilbo asks.
"Well that would be Radagast the Brown." He's a nice. Bit strange. But nice all the same. Has a strange addiction to mushrooms.
"And is he a great wizard or... Is he more like you." Oh snap. Gandalf does not look happy.
"I think he's a very great wizard, in his own way. He's a gentle soul who prefers the company of animals to others. He keep a watchful eye on the vast forest lands to the east. And a good thing to. For always evil will look to find a foothold in this world." Gandalf said starring off into the distance. Well that was deep stuff. So much so Rose seemed to be falling asleep on me.
"Rose are you ok." I say wriggling my shoulder to see.
"Yeah I'm fine." She doesn't sound fine.
"Sleep if need to. I'll make sure you won't fall off." I say as she swings her leg over to sit side saddle rest her head on my shoulder.
"Cara" Rose mumbles in her sleepy state.
"Yes."
"Cadür came back the other day"
"And...what did the other packs say." I asked eagerly.
"I personally don't think they'll help. Cadür thinks differently." She says snuggling down into my shoulder.
"We can only hope." I say maneuvering Luna around fallen trees and rocks.
"And what of Father?" I whispered to her.
"He weakens everyday. I wouldn't have left if Cadür had not returned. I fear for him Cara. What if he doesn't get better."
"Then Cadür can lead..." I started but was cut off by Rose
"You're the eldest. You know the packs will only allow the eldest to take charge. And lord Andür has to marry his son to someone."
"I will not marry someone I do not love."
"Then you forfeit the crown."
"So be it"

After riding for quite some time Thorin eventually decided to stop. And so did the rain thank mahal.
"We'll camp here for the night. Fili, Kili, look after the ponies. Make sure you stay with them." Thorin shouts out to everyone. I climbed down from Luna's back and helped Rose of as she walked the Anver over the over ponies.
It's a strange place. I could sense something foul in the air. There was an old cottage that only had the roof and frame work in tact on top of the hill. And certainly gave me the creeps.
"A Farmer and his family used to live here." Gandalf said noticing I was starring at it.
"What do you suppose happened." I asked studying the wood of the frame work. Hmm oak maybe...or not.
"I'm not sure. And I don't like not knowing." He said scratching his head. What Gandalf didn't know wasn't worth knowing.
"I think it would be wiser to move on. We could make for the Hidden Valley." Gandalf said turning around to talk to Thorin.
"I have told you before I will not go near that place." Honestly can't they have a conversation without arguing. I've heard enough.
I walk towards the edge of the wood looking back to look for Rose. When I finally spot her I nod my head at the forest and she walks over looking a little shaken.
"Why the long face?" I ask watching her try think of an answer. She's hiding something.
"Uh...Nothing, just a bit tired is all." Lying. But why.
"Rose you slept the whole way here." I said watching her get even more distressed. Maybe I should just leave her be.
"Are we going hunting it not?" She asked grumpily.
"Sorry. Yes. Come on let's go." I say before I transform into my grey wolf form and Rose doing the same changing to her russet brown wolf.
Running through the forest with my sister was the best feeling in the world. I almost felt at one with the tree's, the wind that swayed through them, the...*Splash*
"Ooh come on. Why am I the only one who has to fall in the river." Climbing up the river bank shaking the water out of my fur.
"Because I spotted it and you didn't." She said trying hide her laughter.
"What...and you couldn't have warned me?" I said still shaking.
"Well where's the fun in that. And besides I've got you back now." She said smirking.
"Alright I'm heading back what about you? I've figured if there were rabbits around here we would have found them by now." I said turning back into my human form.
"Yeah I can't even smell any. If you don't mind I'm going to take a bath." She said turning into her human form and walking towards the river.
"Ok...whatever. You enjoy your bath." I say walking twisting the water or of my my hair
"Will do." I heard from the river.
Right. Now I'm bored. I'll just go find someone to annoy. As I walked back to the others I could hear Kili and Fili talk to each other. Time to have some fun. I hid behind a large tree after find a piece of a branch. I snapped it as loud as I could before climbing the tree taking a piece of the branch with me.
"What was that." I heard fili say. My plan was definately working.
"I don't know but it sounded big. Come on let go check it out." Kili said taking out his bow and arrow and Fili doing the same with his sword and they walked into the forest. This was going to be a piece of cake.
Just as I was about to jump on them there was a loud crash and lots of distressed neighing was heard into the distance. I don't like to admit it...but I was distracted and I, sort of, let go.
"AAAAHHH...note to self. Landing on people is not advised." I say rubbing my head.
"Cara what in mahal's name were you doing up a tree." Kili said standing up with Fili. But I can honestly say I was not paying attention what so ever. I could smell something. And it stunk like a skunk.
"Cara are you...are you even listening to us?" Fili said waving a have in front of my face but I was to focused on trying to figure out what that damn awful smell was.
"Wait, the ponies...Luna." I jumped up runing towards the ponies. 1, 2, 3,4...13,14...where are the rest.
"Daisy and bungo are missing." I say walking back to Kili and Fili who were now joined by Bilbo.
"Thorin is not going to be happy." I say rubbing the back of my head.
