WARGS VS WOLVES

Rose's POV

Cara stood up, her eyes still glowing golden. She was starting to scare me. Evryone was turned in her direction casting a worrird glance her way. Only once had I found her so fierce looking before...and she almost killed that day.

"Cara?" I whispered nervously.

"Something's coming." She shouted with flared nostrils as she unsheathed her swords, twirling them as she did so. Everyone seemed to stand alert and turn around in every direction looking for trouble. That is until a familiar face burst through the tree line.

"THIEVES, FIRE, MURDER." Not exactly what I was exciting...who am I kidding this is exactly what I was expecting.

"RADAGAST." Cara and I shouted as we ran to our old friend.

"Oh my dear girls...what are you doing here." He said giving us in a big hug. He smelled of the forest and rabbits and...birds. Ok normal Radagast then.

"We're on a quest." I said excitedly.

"Correction, I am on a quest, she snuck after me." Cara scolded me once again. She still wasn't over the that was she. Baby steps.

"Good gracious...up to mischief again are we?" He said raising his eyebrows. "Ah Gandalf."

"Radagast! Radagast the Brown. Ah. What on earth are you doing here?" Gandalf smiled to his old friend.

"I was looking for you, Gandalf. Something's wrong. Something's terribly wrong." Radagast was visibly shaken. He went to speak again but paused for some reason.

"Oh, just give me a minute. Um, oh, I had a thought, and now I've lost it. It was, it was right there, on the tip of my tongue."

Cara raised an eyebrow. I mean no offence but..he wasn't exactly all there at times.

He seemed to remember but it wasn't what we were expecting. Well what else could you expect from Radagast the brown.

"Oh, it's not a thought at all; it's a silly old...stick-insect" I feel my stomach churn as Gandalf peel the creature out of radagasts mouth. I dread to think how long that's been in there.

Gandalf took him to one side to talk while we waited. Cara walked over to a large rock and slumped against it. It seemed the control of the eolas was wearing off.

"Cara are you alright?" I asked gently, trying my best not to rile her up again.

"I don't know." She breathed out heavily as she closed her eyes.

I heard snuffling at my feet and saw the rabbits that pull Radagast's sled. They're much bigger than normal rabbits and they're so fluffy. I knelt down to stroke them all. How could you resist.

Cara's P.O.V.

I felt like someone has just rummaged through the very essence of my mind. I can't tell Rose what I saw. She can never know.

"Cara..?" I turned slowly to see Kili. Looking at me with worry I his eyes. I nodded trying to tell his I was ok, he accepted it but didn't look convinced.

A howl broke our eye contact which I was thankful for. But that howl sent shivers down my spine.

"Was that a wolf. Do you know it." Bilbo asked turning to me.

"That is no wolf." Suddenly a warg jumps from behind a nearby rock. Luckily Thorin and Dwalin deal with the scum. A second seems to appear out of nowhere and heads straight for Kili. No one hurts my dwarf.

I quickly lunged for it in my wolf form and my jaws clamp down in it's vile neck. I only let go went I hear the crunch of bones. Thankfully no more find us. But they've got our sent now.

"What is that?" Bilbo asked me shakily as I phased back and wiped the blood from my mouth.

"That master Baggins is what become of wolfbloods when eolas takes over. Your mind becomes barren and filled with only one emotion. Hate. That's why orc love them. They don't need a reason to kill. Eolas is useful, but everything comes with a price!" I say staring down at the dead body with disgust. I slight twinge in my brain causes me to flinch a little and I feel my right eye glow. Blinking away the feeling I carried on as if nothing happened.

"Warg scouts! Which means an Orc pack is not far behind." Thorin shouts as we prepare to move on. I took Rose's hand and walk quickly up behind the group.

"Orc pack?!" Fo goodness sake is Bilbo still worrying.

"Who did you tell beyond your kin?" Gandalf interrogated Thorin.

"No one." Well that wasn't at all convincing.

"WHO DID YOU TELL?!"

"No one I swear! What in Durin's name is going on." Thorin begs obviously worried.

"We're being hunted!" I shout as I noticed Rose start to shake. Dwalin walks over ushering us two to the middle of the group. He's a hard man but he's always been a softie at heart.

"We have to get out of here. Come on Petal." He says to Rose as he places a comforting hand on her shoulder. A slight smile graces my face. It reminded me of old times.

"We can't, the ponies have bolted." Well there goes my happy place.

"I'll draw them off." And there goes mister insane again.

"These are Gundabad Wargs; they will outrun you." Gandalf tried to warn the wizard.

"These are Rhosgobel Rabbits; I'd like to see them try." He's got guts, I'll give him that.

We race of down the hill towards the rocky plane to try and find shelter. Not as easy as it sounds as we're currently hiding below a bolder as a warg and it's rider patrolled above our heads. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Kili notch a arrow in his bow. I looked to him and shook my head. It'll make too much noise.

He didn't seem to acknowledge my distress as he carried on with his little venture and shot the warg. I cringe at the noise they both made as they died. Something will have heard that.

"Quickly run!" Thorin barks as we all take off. I make sure to push Rose in front of me.

As we ran we realised Gandalf had disappeared...and the pack was getting closer. I shot with my bow an Orc and it's warg before another charged at me. Quickly wiping out my duel blade I stabbed the warg with one and decapitated the orc with the other.

"This way you fools!" Gandalf shouts to us.

I turned my head to look where he was and in that moment, pain exploded in my gut. I looked down to see an arrow pieced my side. I cried in pain as I sank to the floor. I could hear the cries of Thorin and Kili and then nothing. All I could hear was silence. Looking up I could just about make out he shape of horses and their riders. My side burned to the point where I felt physically sick. A rider dismounted his stead and came towards me. Gentle and arms gathered me up and before I could black out completely I heard the most calm words I could ever hope to hear.

"You are safe, Melon."
