Sesshomaru:
There has been a long time since our land has had peace. The long lasting war was having major repercussions on everyone, especially my mother. She has not left her chamber ever since my father got murdered by those insufferable humans who think they're so much better than us, pureblood demons. The only reason why we haven't wiped the floor with them already has been the sudden appearance of dragons a few years back. It was that time, when everything started.
Our superior nation tamed the dragons to do our bidding, we used them as mounts and reliable servants, since forming a contract with the demon race forces them to obey the will of their master. In return, they gained some of our powers, changing their scaly wings into feathered ones, their scaled body changed color from the menacing black to the purest of whites and grew a light blue mane corresponding with the color of their wings. They were beautiful creatures highly demanded by every demon in power in our lands, hence why breeding dragons was an actual job in our lands. They formed the contract with a demon at birth and were raised alongside them. The downside was, the dragons and demons life was intertwined. Once one of the pair dies, the other dies as well. That's why it was so easy for the humans to fend us off. They targeted the dragons to eliminate our kind in par.
And if you ask, how can humans kill a dragon? Simple. They managed to get their hands on some dragons as well. We don't know much about their life there, but they fight alongside each other and manage to fight us off whenever we try to concur the pesky race. Now, however, it's not just about concurring the other one. They killed my father the moment they killed his dragon. They pierced his dragons' heart leaving a gigantic hole inside my fathers' chest in par. I still have the terrifying moment right before my eyes. As I followed my father into a fight on my dragon called Polar, a large army of black dragons swarmed us attacking us from the clouds with the Black Knight leading their ranks. His dragon, blacker than the night itself, with bright red scales on its' wings like flowing blood with its rider in black and red armor… it still sends a shiver down my spine. The look of horror on my face as well as other troops following my father, as his chest suddenly an empty void and the black spear of the Black Knight piercing my fathers' dragons heart sticking out of its chest is an unforgettable event I will never forgive.
Even now, in Polars' saddle, heading into battle, my golden eyes shine in hatred for the human race. There is nothing worse than those insects. My silver armor lining with light blue stripes and the proud insignia of our clan, I was ready to fight anything that crossed my way. Especially the Black Knight. He and I clashed swords on many occasions, exchanging blow after blow on surprisingly equal terms despite my demon powers. He was indeed an incredibly strong opponent worthy of my blade and I could not wait to slice his throat. I was sure, today is going to be the day it would happen. The rain of demons would raise again and humans would have no choice but to submit or face total elimination.
...
It was another hard battle. Both Polar and I were exhausted from fighting and just when I started to think the battle could not get any better, the Black Knight arrived. His dragon, swift and nimble was hard to strike, as was the Black Knight. His slim-ish figure allowed him to dodge even the closest attacks, which was always frustrating. His long spear dangerously accurate grazed my cheek just above my purple markings, making a small stream of blood appear on my face and I unconsciously growled at him in frustration knowing full well, he could not hear it through his full face helmet and the sounds of the fierce battle. I lunged at him, one strike after another, until our dragons classed, their claws tearing at each other. I heard the pained whimpers of both dragons and we continued to exchange one blow after the other, the Black Knight losing his spear in the exchange and quickly drawing his sword guarding from my attack. I heard a loud roar as Polar bit down on the black dragons' tail, tearing a piece of it off and I snickered as he tossed aside the peace in his mouth. The Black Knighs' blows grew harder seeing his injured dragon and jumped into the air, startling me. I've never seen the rider leave his dragon while being 50km above ground, hurdling down at a high speed. I watched as he landed right at the side of my own dragons' wing, slashing through it as its nothing and hearing Polar roar in agony as he uselessly flapped his wing trying to create at least a little cushioning for the inevitable fall. I swung my sword at the Black Knight, but he swiftly jumped back to his dragon, that caught him right into his claws, unable to fly in any particular direction, but managing to stay afloat longer. I practically saw the smug look at the Black Knights face as I plummeted into the ground alongside my dragon in a loud roar into the skies.
...
When I woke up, I didn't know what was going on. There was a soft feeling under me, as I ran my hand along the white scales under me and realized, that Polar took most of the fall, when he tried to shield me. The huge crater under him gave me a pretty good idea at how mad the fall was, yet somehow, his breath was steady and he raised my head to look at me as if to make sure, that I'm ok. I looked around and saw the first rays of sunlight shine upon us, letting me know that we both were out of it for quite some time. I climbed down from the dragon and walked around to assess the damage. It was obvious from the first glance, that he would not be able to fly anytime soon. Damn it. We were so close to disposing of the Black Knight. So close indeed. He managed to hurt his dragon as well. This could have been our chance!
I hit the ground in frustration as Polar turned from his back to his belly whining in pain in the process. I can't believe he got away from me again. How sly of that bastard. I looked over Polars' injury and realized, any type of movement would be painful for the dragon. As I do need him to heal as soon as possible, maybe the best move would be to not move him for now. I motioned for him to stay as I walked around what seemed to be a shore of some kind. I did not know where the battle took us, since I wasn't paying much attention to our surrounding, and when I walked along the shore and in a few hours managed to find my way back to Polar, I realized, that this was indeed an island. Just my luck. I growled as I sat by the dragon and leaned against him. He turned his big head towards me and o just pet him, letting him know it's not his fault that I'm in a bad mood. I contemplated what to do for a while, until I heard a deep rumble from the dragons' stomach. I grinned a bit and stood up.
"Stay here Polar, I'll look for some food."
It was not unusual to talk to the dragons, since they understood us, yet it was quite awkward, since they never replied in turn. They just nod their head in understanding and obey whatever we tell them to do.
As I explored, I found a few trees with fruit we could both share to get a bit of strength back, because even though I hate to admit it, fighting the Black Knight is not an easy task. I followed the trail of trees until I noticed something. Tree branches and eventually whole trees were torn down, as if something big hit them at a high speed. I followed the trail of destruction, until I found a huge crater in the ground. I peeked from behind the bush and to my surprise, I found myself face to face with a huge black dragons head. The loud dragon roar filled my ears and its huge sharp fangs were just in my face. I was just about to back out as I felt a blade poke at my back.
"Don't move or I will end you right here right now."
The voice I heard was weird. It sounded…female…
I turned my head to see the Black Knight, in all his glory, until he pulled his helmet off and her black raven hair spilled from underneath, her big brown eyes swallowing me up as she looked down at me in disgust.
The Black Knight is a FEMALE?!
