Note: This chapter will be somewhat short, seeing as it's kind of build-up for the next ones. As such, I hope that you are okay with it. Now then, it's time for chapter eight.
Chapter 8: Visitation and Planning
A snow leopard was just sitting in her house, reading a magazine. She had light blue eyes and was wearing glasses, a red day dress, gray dress pants and sandals. Upon hearing a knock on the door, the feline got up, set her magazine down, and went to answer it. Opening the door, she was greeted by another snow leopard, who happened to be someone she knew well.
"Percy?" She spoke.
"It's Prowl, mom." Prowl said.
"Oh, I forgot, sorry!" The older snow leopard said.
"It's okay." The younger leopard stated. "Mind if I come in?"
"Sure," the feline said, "it's been a while since I've heard from you, given how you're at the Flight Academy."
Prowl stepped in the house, taking a seat near where his mother was sitting. Once she sat down near him, the two snow leopards got down to talking.
"So, what did you come here for?" Mrs. Granger asked.
"I came to ask some questions, but they won't be pretty." Prowl stated.
"You can ask them," the older snow leopard said, "I can handle them."
"How did you meet dad?" The younger snow leopard asked.
"We met at the Cornerian Flight Academy Ball." She answered. "I saw that he was lonely, so I went with him. Throughout the night, we got to know each other, agreeing on a date for the following week. As we went on dates, I noticed that your father was a rough kinda fellow, given how he got into a fight with some thugs on one of our dates. Ten months after that, I married him, becoming a teacher, while he joined the Cornerian Army. Shortly after you were born, he started getting mad at the Army, often criticizing their methods and telling everyone how it would be different if he was in charge. One day, the Army called him in for a battle, so he joined the battle and never came back. The soldiers reported his death as a casualty, but hardly anyone showed up for the funeral."
Mrs. Granger looked down, wiping a tear from her eye.
"Did he ever speak about Indiscipline and Epitaph?" Prowl asked.
"Yes," she said, "all of the time. However, he never told me what the names of those projects were. In fact, he cut me off when I tried asking him."
"Asking him about what?" A familiar voice came through the doorway.
Turning their heads, Prowl and his mother saw Katt standing in the doorway. The younger snow leopard smiled at her, while the older one had a look of annoyance and disgust on her face.
"We were just talking about current events, Katt." Prowl said.
"Like what?" Katt asked.
"What's it to you, Katt Monroe?" Mrs. Granger asked as she rolled her eyes.
"I'm just here to see what's keeping your son, Gertrude Granger." The pink cat stated.
"You know each other? Figures." Prowl stated.
"Yes," Gertrude said, looking at Katt, "I grew up as a neighbor to the tramp. Still pining for Falco Lombardi's heart, eh?"
"Falco's my boyfriend now," Katt hissed, "and if you call me a tramp again, I'll -"
"Alright," Prowl said, "let's go, Katt. As much as I love a good fight, we shouldn't stay here and waste more time than we have already."
"Where are you two going?" The older snow leopard asked.
"Mom," the younger snow leopard said, "before you say anything else, I've got to help rescue some of the members of Star Fox. I wanted to avoid becoming a member of the Cornerian Army like how dad did, so I wound up joining a group called the Cornerian Knights. We were meant to be a backup plan in case something happened to Star Fox. Our time came when most of the team got captured by the mob. As a result, we had to work with allies of Star Fox, including Katt, in order to save them. We've only managed to save three of the members and, if I don't join everyone in the next mission, we won't be able to save the rest of Star Fox."
"I understand," she said as she wiped a tear from her eye, "go and save Star Fox. Make Corneria proud."
At the Tower, General Pepper was discussing a plan with the Cornerian Knights, Fox, Peppy, Fara, Krystal, Bill and Lucy. So far, all of them had looked over the plan, except for Prowl and Katt.
"Overall, the plan is set." Pepper stated. "All we need is to hear Prowl's input on it."
"Not to mention his role in it." Lucy added.
Prowl entered the room with Katt behind it.
"There they are!" Bill said.
"Yeah, we're here." Prowl stated.
"So, what's the big plan?" Katt asked.
"So far," Fox said, "we just need to distract the Mauricio Family and their men so that one of us can free the others."
"I can free the others!" Katt offered. "After all, I've really missed my pretty birdie!"
"Actually, we want Prowl to free the others." Flora stated.
"Freeing four people who I barely know personally? Wonderful." Prowl said out of sarcasm.
"At leazt we're zaving zeir livez." Pierre said.
"Yeah," Shelly added, "we might even become their friends."
"Zat'z zomething we'd both like, mon cherie." The white tiger said to his wife.
"Indeed, sweetie." The raven said before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Then I'll distract those bullies." Katt said, trying to add more to the plan. "All I need is a wig, a red dress and some sunglasses."
"The distraction has already been planned." Jethro stated.
"Well, what is it?" Prowl asked.
"We're going to dip Krystal and Fara in latex as a distraction so that Prowl can free the others." Bill stated. "Then, once the others are free, we'll get them to the hospital after we take down the Mauricio Family."
"You're crazy!" Fara cried.
"Don't worry," Pepper said, "we've got an invention that will turn the latex we pour on the both of you into harmless liquid."
"And it won't do the same to people." Lucy added.
"Not to mention that Krystal can hold her breath for three hours." Fox stated.
"I hope that we don't wait for more than three hours." Krystal said. "Might want to leave our noses uncovered when you cover us up."
"Yeah." Fara stated.
"But how will we know that the Mauricio Family won't know that we're coming?" Jethro asked.
"As you noticed before, the police are arresting those who you haven't fought yet." Pepper said. "And, seeing as I should have told all of you this before, there is an ally of ours who has infiltrated the Mauricio Family."
"An ally?" Miriam asked.
"Yes," the hound dog said, "you will see her during the mission. And, before I leave, I need to talk to you, Krystal."
"Okay." Krystal said as she followed him out of the room.
"I hope that it's something good." Fox stated.
"Star Wolf is going after the Mauricio Family, are they mad?!" Krystal asked.
"That's what I asked them." Pepper said. "However, I cut a deal with Wolf. If he doesn't kill the Mauricio Family with Leon and Panther, they'll go free. If they do, however, they'll spend a long time in jail."
"I hope that they do as they're told, regardless of what the Mauricio Family deserves." The cobalt vixen said.
"At least you'll be able to talk Wolf out of it." The hound dog stated. "You are, after all, his daughter."
"Yeah," she said, "he'll listen to me. Especially considering the weeks we spent bonding together."
"Let's hope so, Krystal." He said.
Pepper then walked away, exiting the Academy. Krystal went back into the room to speak with her friends and comrades, deciding to keep Star Wolf's eventual involvement a secret. After all, the cobalt vixen had to save her friends before it was too late.
Note: Okay, there we go. Now that the plan has been decided, everyone just needs to act on it. Will it succeed? Also, will Star Wolf show up? Will we see Crimson Unit #21 again? We'll know those answers eventually. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
