!NOTE! This story is under reconstruction! I started this when I was 15, four years ago, and have sincerely grown in my writing since then, and have a lot more to offer. The chapters are all being updated, and I have kept track of what I've updated or revised on my profile, so people know what is new/edited and what's old. Thanks for understanding!

I do not own Naruto, or Onyxcia

First Person P.O.V

"Oh, Maria, please! Don't leave me!"

"But, Jack, I have to. My father doesn't want us together anymore.. He said he'd kill you if he had to!"

"I'm not scared of that old man, what about our love?!"

"I'm sorry, Jack... It's for the be-"

Suddenly, the voices stopped.

"Zoe, what the hell were you just watching?" Elizabeth's voice coursed through my ears. I cracked open my eyes to look at her standing in front of the couch I was laying on with her hands on her hips, wearing a ridiculous lit up Christmas sweater which had "MERRY ELFIN' CHRISTMAS" displayed proudly on the front. Her light brown locks were tussled, covered in snowflakes from the cold winter we were going through.

I broke myself out of my daze and yawned, "Honestly, I don't even know. Onyxcia left the T.V on about an hour ago and the remote was too far away for me to reach." I gestured to the coffee table about arm's length away.

She let out a small laugh, running her fingers through her hair to try to sift the snowflakes out. "You're something else, dummy. When's Nyx supposed to get back?" She wondered, curiously reading the description on whatever movie I had been sleeping to.

"I don't know," I grunted, sitting up, giving her room to sit next to me. I groaned at the stiffness in my back from sleeping on the couch, "She said she was going shopping for groceries, that she was gonna pick up some Taco Bell, or McDonalds."

She plopped down on the couch next to me. She had a small, very crumbled paper bag in her hands, and a big smile on her face as she stared at me.

"This is for you," she said sheepishly, scratching the back of her head. "Your brother met me outside of campus. He must've known this was my last day before winter break," she smiled, holding the bag out for me to grab. "He's lucky I had my Christmas party with my class today, or I wouldn't have been there and he would've been out in the cold for nothing."

I smirked, "He won't melt, and besides, it's karma for missing my birthday two years in a row."

She shrugged but said nothing else, turning the T.V back on and placing the bag in my lap.

I slowly opened the paper bag, curious about what he had bought me, and why he suddenly thought he needed to get me something for my birthday after over a month. Regardless, I was thankful for the afterthought.

There was a small, blue felt jewelry box in the bottom of the bag, along with a small card. I opened the box and a smile surfaced on my face. He had gotten me a gold ring with our last name carved into it. I smiled gently, inspecting the ring and tracing my index finger over the carving before slipping it onto my ring finger. I twirled it around, noticing it didn't fit quite right and tried it on my middle finger, smiling in success when it fit just right.

My thoughts were interrupted by the door slamming open loudly, likely blown in by the wind. The wind howled into the house for only a moment before we heard a loud thump, and rushing footsteps. The door was slammed shut again moments later, dulling the noise of the wind.

"Nyx!" I groaned loudly, "Please tell me you did not crack the eggs again! I wanted those to make cookies." I frowned, watching the blonde struggle into the living room with too many bags in each hand for her to handle.

"I'm sorry! I've never had good balance," she shrugged. A big smirk was on her face as she sat down and plopped bags on the coffee table. The leather couch let out a little puff of air at her sudden weight next to me. It was evident that she had something to share, but I honestly couldn't think of what else she could have to say. She peeked over her shoulder, looking toward the window, "The snow is really coming down out there, I wonder how much we'll get tonight?"

"What do you want?" I asked, ignoring her weather talk and cocking an eyebrow at her facial expression. "You're making a face. What are you thinking about?"

"Well," she started, turning back towards me excitedly. I could've groaned at how ready she was to have an opportunity to ask for something, but she continued before I had a chance. "You know my uncle, right? The one that owns the restaurant, big beard, fat face, long hair-"

"Yes," I quickly dismissed, attempting to hurry her explanation, which I knew would be exuberant, and detailed. I inwardly hoped that she was just going to say that she brought us food from there instead of any takeout, but of course, I'm not that lucky.

"Okay, so he just called me on my way home and he says," she paused, clearing her throat before mimicking her uncle in a deep, raspy tone, "'Nyx! A box of kittens was just dropped on my doorstep! Do you think you and your friends could take them in?!' and of course I said, 'Yeah, we sure-"

"No." I stated, cutting her off mid sentence. I crossed my arms, the frown I wore earlier still plastered on my face. "Why did you think that we wanted a kitten, let alone more than one?"

"But why not?! We have the room for them! And it's not like we haven't had cats before! Why can't we again? Please? Pretty please with a super naked team of Akatsuki, excluding Konan, on top?" she begged, pulling on my short black hair.

"I don't want them either," Elizabeth stated simply, her light blue eyes still focused on the T.V. She paused, looking up at Onyxcia, "but, for the record, Konan is equally as hot as the rest of the Akatsuki."

I let a little smile crawl on my lips for a second before continuing the 'Stern' act for Onyxcia.

"But please? You guys are always so quiet and upset; we need their happiness in this boring house!" Onyx stated, tears welling up in her red eyes. It was obvious she really wanted the cats because she barely ever cried.

"I don't like cats," I glared. "All they do is shit, eat, and sleep. What's the point? All we do is feed them until they die."

Onyxcia gasped, "You did not just say that! You've had cats before, Zoe, and you loved them!" She exclaimed, quickly rising back to her feet. She grabbed the groceries, which were starting to get warm on the table, and headed for the kitchen, "We're getting them and that's that! And you have to take care of your own three!"

"Three?" Elizabeth and I demanded in unison.

I gawked towards the door where Onyxcia had disappeared, before turning back to Beth, "did she actually say three each?" I paused, before getting on my feet and rushing into the kitchen after the excited woman, "Did you say three each?!"
