***Hello, everyone! Shorter chapter, but this was the transition I came up with. I own nothing, and let's go!
Chapter Six: L's Journal of Observations
Day: 15
I had to massage Light's limbs this morning again. He'd gotten stiff again. When I suggested that he lie in bed rather than in his corner, he gave me some semblance of a dirty look. Beneath his disorder, there's quite a personality.
His antidepressants and mood stabilization medications rarely do anything other make him sluggish or queasy, if he neglects food.
Reluctantly considering the electroshock therapy, despite the Yagami family's wishes.

Day: 16
Light wants to speak to me. I believe he does. I can see the hesitation to speak in his eyes. I want him to speak. He already did once.
It's his fear that keeps him from speaking. Fear that medication won't fix. It's lasted for months now.
Will bring a notepad and pencils tomorrow for easier communication.
Will discuss Light's medications with the institution's pharmacists.
Will look into electroshock therapy. The Yagami's family consent no longer matters.

Day: 17
The notepad was much easier to communicate by. Light tore out a page at a time, wrote in it, and gave it to me. Over and over. It was like he believed each page was evidence to be left behind in order to convict him of crimes he didn't commit.
I spoke to the pharmacist. Light's last change in medication was months ago in order to deal with his fluctuation in weight. The type of medication hasn't changed, but they've tried just about everything that Light isn't allergic to.
Will look into electroshock therapy.

Day: 18
The notepad gave Light means to stay up all night to entertain himself. At least he was entertained.
When I asked how often he slept, he wrote 4/7. Four out of seven nights a week.
He asked why I seemed more tired today. Audibly asked me. I did not answer.
Looked into electroshock therapy.

Day: 19
Light speaks more frequently. "Frequently" means that he speaks a word or two at a time, or occasionally makes an animalistic noise. It's soft, and hoarse, but nice to listen to. I gave him water in hopes of soothing his throat. He seemed highly appreciative.
Electroshock therapy appointments were confirmed.

Day: 20
Light likes me. He expressed it with a notepad writing. He thinks of me as a friend, I don't know if his mind has regressed to a childlike state due to his illness, or if he is actually fond of me. Either way, I've gained a friend for the first time in years.
I have to tell Light about the electroshock therapy tomorrow.
XxX
Day: 21
I told Light about the therapy.
He looked at me with the same disdain he gives other staff members.
...
I'm sorry, Light.
***A short transition. Be sure to leave a review on the way out, and I'll see you all in the next one! Bye!
