***Hello, everyone! Here we are, the epilogue. I'm glad to be finishing this story before life gets hectic for me. I would rather have one ongoing story than two. I own none of the characters, and let's go!

Chapter Ten: Life Goes On (Final)

Bright and early in the morning, Light Yagami was waiting at the airport. It had been three years since he was officially discharged from the institution, and at age twenty-five, he felt like he'd picked up the pieces of his life and put most of them together.

Right now, with a cup of coffee from a drive-thru in one hand, he waited at the baggage claim. If Misa had sent him the right information, then he still had some time to spare. He took out his phone to check up on the daily news…

"Hello, Light."

Light's ears seemed to perk, and he put away his phone. Standing in front of him, hardly changed after over three years, was L Lawliet. Behind him was a black suitcase that probably weighed more than he did.

"It's been a while. Care to stop for a chat?" Light asked.

L checked the time. "I have some time before I need to get moving… I can humor you," he said. Then, he perched next to Light. "Still sitting like that, huh?" the brunette commented. "If it's not broken, then I won't fix it. What have you been up to?" L asked.

"I went back to college and finished my degree, even if it was late. I got my degree in teaching," Light said. "Not very interested in money, I see," L mused. "There's still a fair share of money coming in. I'm still with Misa. A few weeks ago, we got engaged. That's actually why I'm here. She's coming back from a business trip over in Paris. Her flight should be here soon," Light said.

He looked at L. "But why are you back in Japan? You're from England, aren't you?" he asked. "I'm heading back to England. As of now, I no longer live alone. I'm here for the same reason I came to you-an urgent psychological case. Now that the matter is resolved, I'm going back home to Winchester with three children whom I adopted from the same orphanage I was raised in. Two teenagers and a younger boy," L said.

"Sounds like you have your hands full. But leaving them alone while you go to a foreign country… isn't that a little, y'know, irresponsible?" Light pointed out. L didn't even think about it. "They're intelligent boys," he said.

Light just sighed.

The two wound up chatting for about half an hour before Light was suddenly attacked from behind. It wasn't an attack, really-rather, it was Misa sneaking up behind them both and hugging her fiance tightly.

"You scared me, Misa!" Light laughed once the shock wore off and he realized who was hugging him. She sat next to him. "I missed you, Light," she said, kissing his cheek.

"I missed you too. You remember my old therapist, right?" Light asked, motioning to L. "Of course I do! He cured you!" Misa said.

L glanced at the time and stood up. "I have to get going. You two enjoy your reunion," he said. "Hold on a second. I don't have any paper, but I have a pen," Light said, pulling a pen from his pocket.

L watched as his former patient wrote an email address on his hand. "Your email address?" he asked. "Of course. I need to let you know when the wedding is. You helped me get my life back together. Even if you're not a party person, I still feel like you should be there. You should bring your kids too, I'd like to meet them," Light said, resting his arm around Misa.

L glanced at the bubbly blonde. "You gave me back my shining Light. If he wants to invite you and your family, then okay," Misa allowed. L smiled, and left with that smile on his face.

Light pulled along Misa's black and pink suitcase, holding onto her other hand as they walked towards the car. "Your shining Light, huh?" Light finally said once they'd sat in the car. "I'm tired, give me a break," Misa sighed.

Light kissed her, always content to tease her.

Then, he drove on.

***And there you have it. I hope you enjoyed. Be sure to leave a review on the way out, and I'll see you again in the next one! Bye!
