Four months passed since Robert's accident. Four months he spent getting stronger and ready to go back to work.
Being a home together and watching their baby grows was something that help them both heal from the trauma they went through.
Andy was on light duty. She didn't want to stop working and Robert understood that. She mostly spent time at the station and occasionally would be on AidCar.
As much as she loved spending time with her husband at home, she needed other activities that she also enjoy.
She was barely showing. Being almost 6 moths pregnant and there was barely a bump. Carina said it's normal thing and most importantly baby was developing amazing.
Today was finally a day that Robert was cleared for duty. He's been waiting for this moment for 2 months now. The doctor wanted him to heal properly and be ready and back in full force so he needed extra 2 months of exercising and getting his shape back.
Since Andy was on light duty, he coming back was meant that he will now get back at being battalion chief but act captain on the calls and she will stay at the station and take care of the paperwork and stuff.
Boring job but it's better than nothing. They managed to get this agreement with the chief and it was amazing.
Andy wanted to throw him a coming back party at the station with team. They were on shift and the plan was to prepare dinner and get some balloons and Andy will tell him to swing by the station. She knew that if he knew what was the occasion he wouldn't come or she would beg him to come. He was comfortable with the team and they spent times together during his recovery but he didn't like surprises. Neither did she but they would surprise one another from time to time.
So they arranged everything and Andy put station out of service for 2 hours so they'll eat in peace. She was in her office when she heatd the front door opening. It was Robert. She knew he will come to her office first so she waited for him not bothered to move.
- Hey. He said entering the office.
- Hey. Come sit. Dinner is not ready yet.
Andy was sitting in her chair, legs on the table.
- I see baby is not messing around.
- My feet are killing me today. Andy let out a sigh.
Robert pulled a chair and came to her side taking her feet in his lap.
- Nothing what massage can't fix.
- Exactly what I needed. Andy throw back her head in chair out of pleasure.
- I swear I'll start to wear flip flops since my feet are starting to swell, it's insane.
Robert chuckled at her statement and Andy kept her eyes closed, enjoying the massage.
- You are the one who wanted to work.
- I am. And I'm not regretting it, just sometimes. Like today. I was on AidCar and I think I picked the wrong day since AidCar is the only ones who got the calls.
- Andy! Light duty. We agreed on that.
- Relax. I only went out for 2 calls the rest Travis took over. She said never opening her eyes.
- You better. He chuckled.
- Someone is threatening me? She opened the eyes to catch his eyes.
- Only when I have to. He smirked.
She put down her feet in the shoes and placed them back in his lap so he can tie her shoelaces.
He then leaned towards her and caressed her bump and then pressed a kiss on it.
Those little gestures that he did for her made her heart melt.
- And what about me? I won't get one? She said with a smirk.
- You'll get plenty. Wait for you turn. He then stood up and took her hands to help her get up.
- I'm not that big, I still can get up by myself.
She knows he knows that but she loves to tease him every chance she gets.
- This way I can hug and kiss you faster. He said as he cupped her face and place one long passionate kiss on her lips.
- Okay. Wow. She said breaking the kiss almost breathless.
- This will go further if you don't stop now. You know my hormones are crazy, you can't tease me like this.
- You asked for it. He chuckled.
- Of course I did. I missed it. She placed her hands around his neck and pulled him for another kiss.
Catching a breath between kisses while resting their foreheads on one another Andy saw that is time for a surprise dinner.
She took his hand and they went upstairs.
- Welcome baaack! The team shouted unison when Robert and Andy entered the beanery.
- Guuuys! You didn't have to! He hugged everyone individually.
He turned to face Andy and she was giggling.
- I'm assuming you are behind all of this?
- It was my idea, yes, but they made all of this. She throw hands on the air defended herself.
They all sat to eat. Robert was sitting at the head of the table and Andy was on his right. The team was chatting and asking Robert questions about recovery and how he is. The dinner was coming to an end since two hours pjt of service was expiring.
Five minutes after they were back in service they got a call and everyone run and drove away leaving Andy and Robert alone in the beanery.
Once they were gone Andy lifted her feet on the chair while Robert cleaned all the mess from dinner.
- You look sexy doing the dishes. Andy said with a grin.
- Hormones, huh? He teased her.
- Are you staying or you are going home to sleep in that cold big bed all alone? Andy said making a sad face.
- When you say it like that, now I have to stay. It's good sometimes to sleep alone, I have the whole bed for myself. He chuckled.
- Yeah, yeah I can imagine! She rolled her eyes and got up heading to downstairs.
Robert was quick to came behind her and hug her. He rested his head on her shoulder and placed his hands on her bump.
- You know I'm messing with you, right?
Andy didn't say anything she just turned and kissed him which was enough.
- Now come downstairs I have a present for you.
- Mmm what is it?
- Be patient!
Andy took him to his office and told him to sit behind the desk. He sat and saw a new frame next to the one with him and Andy. It was a sonogram pic of their baby.
- Aww it's so cute. He got all emotional.
Andy got up and got out a cake from a mini fridge Robert had in his office.
- That's not all. She said placing a little cake in front of him with a sign 'Welcome back, daddy!'
Sbe sat in his lap and he immediately hugged her and placed one hand on her stomach.
- You have to cut the cake so you can see the surprise!
The confusion was evident on Robert's face what made Andy burst into laughter.
- Nothing will jump out of the cake?!
- Just cut it, already! Andy couldn't stop laughing.
Cutting the cake made Andy a little bit nervous. She also didn't know but she was hoping for a girl.
At the sign of the pink frosting inside of the cake Andy jumped from Robert's lap cupping her face with her hands and laughter suddenly turn into crying.
Robert was confused for a second seeing her suddenly jumping and starting to cry. Within a second he realized.
- It's pink. We are having a girl? He looked at her.
Andy didn't say anything she just nodded. He got up and hugged her tightly as possible.
- We are having a girl! He whispered and buried his head in the crock of Andy's neck. They stayed like than for a few seconds not wanting to split.
Is it possible to be this happy? Everything is as it should be. Both of them wiped tears away and went to captain's bunk.
Andy took of her uniform and stayed only in her shirt. Robert was sitting on the bed and seeing her half naked he pulled her towards her.
- Robert c'mon I'm tired.
Robert pulled up her shirt and placed a kiss on her bump.
- Hi baby girl! Daddy can't wait to meet you. He whispered.
- Wow! Did she just...
- Yup, and it was a strong one. Andy finished the sentence.
- My baby already has a strong punch.
- Yes and mommy is not thrilled. That means night party is about to start.
- She is like this every night? He asked as Andy got under thr sheets.
- Most nights yes.
- Why I don't know about this? I could've helped.
- You helped already by staying alive so this is all manageable and I'm actually enjoying it. Feeling her move.
- Here. She took her hand and placed on her stomach.
- Just do in circles. She loves that. I do it with both of my hands but one is enough. She chuckled seeing his one hand almost covered the whole bump.
- I didn't want to wake you during the night. She admitted.
- You had enough of PT and fitness training you needed a sleep.
- I know but still...
-Shh. She placed finger on his lips.
- Let's sleep. I'm exhausted.
Andy adjusted herself in his embrace and Robert kept his hand on her bump the whole night and baby wasn't active as much. It was like she knew her daddy was there. Protecting both of his girls.
It was now 2 months until baby's arrival and Andy finally had a nice round belly. The baby was doing amazing. Each appointment they went on both of them were amazed how her heart beats were strong and loud.
It was their usual morning routine. Morning cuddle, shower, getting dressed and going to work. At this point Andy was mostly lying down in her bunk than doing anything but she refused to stay home. That was boring as hell.
- I think I'm getting bigger and bigger by the minute. And stated as she caressed her belly in front of the mirror.
Robert came behind her and hugged her putting his hands on top of hers.
- And definitely sexier. He whispered.
- Robert! She hits him playfully on his arm.
- You know baby can hear you?
- So? She has to know that her mama is hot.
- I'm fat not hot. And we have to decide on a name. Andy said leaving his embrace to put a clothes on.
- Ugh nothing can fits me, anymore. She throw her crew neck shirt on the floor.
- Why would it? Take mine. You wear my stuff all the time now...
- I swear I got bigger during the night. This is annoying.
- Our girl is growing. He placed a kiss on her belly.
- Maybe it's time to stop working.
Andy gave him a look, he knew he said too much.
- I'll pretend you never said that.
- Fine, fine. He chuckled and thrown his hands in the air.
The shift was pretty busy. Most of them were put on calls the whole time, Andy was chilling at the station. She decided to cook them a meal so they would at least eat something nice.
The smell of fresh cooked meal brought the whe team to the beanery immediately.
- Smells amazing! A few of them said entering.
- Mm smells amazing, babe. Robert whispered on her ear while passing by to sit by the table.
- I can't say that for you. She teased.
- Someone gotta put that fires out. Robert chuckled.
They all ate and went to shower.
"You sleeping?"
" No. You okay?"
"Yup. Too tired to come down?"
- Omg you scared me. You are fast. She said pulling herself up to sit.
- Silly question. How can you possibly think I'm too tired to come down and sleep with you guys?
- Blame it on pregnancy brain, I guess. She let out a laugh.
Robert throw himself next to her on the bed and placed a hand on her belly. He kissed the belly, then he moved to kiss her and then rolled to sit next to her.
- We need a name. He stated.
- We definitely do.
- Do we get both names immediately or just one and then the second one after or...
Robert started rambling.
- There are no rules. Andy chuckled.
-We can named her whatever we want and how many names we want...
- Okay, okay. Let's not exaggerate with number of names. Keep it simple. I don't want when I need to call out all of her names to I spent 3 mins enumerate all of her names. Robert nudged her playfully with his shoulder.
- Okay, okay. She started laughing.
- Stop making me laugh, I will need to go pee again and I'm to lazy to get up. Keep it simple, I agree.
- Do you have anything?
- No. You?
- No. I'll have to think about it.
As the due date was approaching Andy finally decided to stay at home and relax. It was very hard for her to not do anything so she decided to wash all the clothes they bought and to put it in the closet.
She needed something to do so the time will go faster and when Robert gets home she planned something speacial for them since there wasn't much time until the little munchkin comes. So she wanted to enjoy peace and quiet while they can.
She stayed in baby's nursery for couple of hours trying to make it more perfect than it already is. They chose lavander color for thr wals with some dusty pink butterflies. She kept rocking in her chair imagining how their life with change in just a couple of weeks. This, all of this, was like a dream. After everything they were blessed with the most precious gift anyone can ask.
It was close until Robert's arrival so she ordered their favorite food and desert and went downstairs to get everything ready.
It was long before Robert got home, kicked his shoes and hurry to hug his wife. Andy was by the kitchen counter preparing food when Robert leaned against her back and wrapped his arms around her very much big belly now.
- I missed you. He whispered.
- We missed you more. She whispered back resting her head against his chest.
- How are my girls today?
- The smaller one is so active today I could barely stand so...
- Let me try something. He interrupted.
Although Robert was always ghe one who was trying to make Andy comfortable as possible this trick he never tried before.
He puts his hands on her lower belly and whispered.
- Just try to relax.
He lifted her belly and immediately Andy felt lighter. She throw back her head on his chests and close her eyes.
- Thank you. She mumbled.
They stayed like that for a few minutes and Robert could feel their baby moving.
- Wow! She really has some moves.
- Told ya. I think she is uncomfortable in there. Maybe the space is too small for her.
- Maybe. You think she will come sooner?
- It's possible. It's 4 weeks until the due date so anything is possible.
After their relaxing time they sat and eat and Robert moved the dishes while Andy went and put on some music.
- C'mon! One last dance until we are alone.
It didn't take him long before he grab his wife's waist and begin to dance with her. Spinning her occasionally.
- You know we will dance with her between us. She needs to feel the music from day one.
- She definitely will. Andy said and got closer to Robert.
- But tonight it's just us.
- Just us. He repeated.
Andy got tired pretty quickly so she decided it's time for the second thing she imagined while rocking in the chair that afternoon.
- Come. She said taking Robert hand and going upstairs.
- You planned quite a night. Robert said after he saw candles in the bathroom.
- We need to relax. I can't stand anymore. She chuckled.
- The baby really got all of your energy when you admitting so easily.
- Enough with the mocking. And come help me with this dress.
- Oh gladly. He smiled.
Robert slowly unzipped the dress by following every inch of her bare body with his fingers.
Being only in panties made Robert blushing.
He could help but kiss her neck and her collar bone. Seeing Andy getting goosebumps and her breasts hard caused by him kissing her made him wanting her even more now.
He leaned down and rested his head in the crock of her neck and Andy was enjoying every second of it.

- Let's get into the tub. She barely managed to say.
Being pregnant made her wanting him so bad. The hormones were making her ready for him faster.
They got into the tub, Andy's back facing his chests but he never stop playing with her nipples.

- Relax. I'll do everything for my wife.

- No one... did anything Robert. Andy said between deep breaths she was trying to catch.
She managed to sit on the bed and put some clothes on when another kick happened.
- Robert, stop panicking. But I think it's time to go.
- To go?! Where?! Oh my god, oh my god it's too early, it's too early.
- Hospital Robert. Where the babies are born.
- Born? Like today?
Andy just gave him a death stare.
- Okay, okay.
He helped her to get up but as she got up her water broke and Robert frozed.
- Let's go! Andy shouted to bring him back to reality.
- Right, right.
He cleaned her and they rushed to Grey Sloan. Thankfully it was a short drive and Andy called Carina while they were driving so everything was ready for her.
They got into the room and checked on Andy and the baby.
- Is she okay? It's not too early? Robert started rambling.
- Will you stop, I'm trying not to panic but you make it... ugh another one... REALLY HARD. Andy shouted while another contractions kicked.
- Andy there is no time for epidural, you need to push. Like right now. Carina said.
- Okay... okay.
Robert took Andy's hand and with his another arm he supported her back while she was pushing.
Seeing her fighting her pain and he breathes he stopped panicking and start being scared.
- You can do it! C'mon! Robert said while kissing her forehead.
After a few pushes and what seemed like forever baby girl made her big entrance to the world. It took her second to start to cry and hearing her both of them started to cry.
Carina placed her on Andy's chests and both of them started caressing her back and head to make her comfortable.
By the time baby was born the whole station was in the waiting room waiting for the news.
- Little over 5 pounds of very loud baby. Robert said approaching them with a big smile on his face.
Everyone cheered and gave him a hug.
- How is Andy? Vic asked.
- Tired but doing good. I need to go back soo...
- Go, go... everyone said.
He went back and he stopped at the door seeing Andy nursing their baby and caressing her little head full of hair. The view he will remember forever. He joined them and sat next to Andy observing them both.
- Now I need to share you. I'm getting a little bit jealous. He chuckled.
- Shush, dad. She rested her head on his shoulder while little Emery Rose was deep in her sleep.
- We created a miracle. Thank you. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead but Andy was already asleep.
He smiled seeing both of his girls peacefully sleeping. He hugged Andy even tighter and placed another arm around their little girl.
The love big and strong like theirs created something so special and made their love expand to another dimension.
