Unexpected Family

Alice and Jasper were enjoying some personal and hunting time out in the woods when Alice has a vision, freezing her in her tracks as she sucks in a breath.

"Emmett" Alice whispers out, and then the vision is gone as quickly as it came and Alice is being cradled in Jaspers arms.

"What is it Alice?" Jasper asks.

"Mate….his mate is coming" Alice whispers.

"Are you sure this time love" Jasper asks

"Yes…I couldn't see her face though" Alice sighs.

Jasper looks at Alice with wide eyes and a lopsided grin.

"When….did you see when?" Jasper asks, happy for his bother. Jasper knows how much Emmett longs for a mate since the rest of the family is coupled up and after the fiasco with Bella Swan.

"Soon….she…she was on her knees in the rain looking at something….see looked sad"

Jasper gives Alice a squeeze to try and comfort her.

"There is something else….I…I don't know if I should…" Alice hesitates looking into Jaspers beautiful golden eyes; he must of caught a meal earlier.

"Alice" Jasper whispers as he cups her cheek.

"I saw a flash….I don't know it was blurry….but" Alice pauses again.

"But what" Jasper asks.

"It…it looked like an old black and white picture….a picture of you….in your uniform" Alice says quietly as she folds herself into her mates' arms.

"Should we tell the family?" Alice asks.

Jasper kisses the top of Alice's head as he continues to hold her in his arms.

"I think we should darlin', so we can be on the lookout and be prepared"

Alice looks into Jaspers eyes again smiling at her love. Alice runs her hands through his blonde curls and pulls Jasper down to her lips, the kiss was gentle sweet.

Alice pulls back, "Race you home solider" giving Jasper a quick peck on the lips.

"You're on little lady" Jasper pulls Alice into another kiss full of passion using his teeth their tongues exploring each other's mouths and making Alice's toes curl.

"Mmmm, my mate" Alice moans but pulls away.

"I love you Major Jasper Whitlock…on your mark get set go" Alice yells out as she takes off towards the Cullen home.

Jasper quickly catches up to her as they run through the woods dodging trees and scattering wild life everywhere.

"You cheated you little minx" Jasper laughs as he pushes his legs harder to get a head of her.

Alice just laughs, her voice like a tinkling of chimes in the wind.

When they reach the house they are met by the family, Esme and Carlisle, Edward and Rosalie and Emmett standing out on the front porch.

"Come on Alice, don't let that old man beat you" Rosalie calls out while Carlisle and Esme laugh and smile at their family.

Alice puts on a final push of speed; both she and Jasper would be nothing but a blur to human eyes.

"And the winner is…." Emmett booms out.

Jasper and Alice enter the open area in front of the house at the same time, Jasper grabs Alice, pulling her into his arms swinging her around as them both laugh at each other.

"Tie!" Carlisle calls out before Emmett could.

"DAD" All the kids whine.

Carlisle shrugs his shoulders; "I call them as I see 'em kids" he grins feeling the swell of love he gets every time they call him Dad, as it's such a rare treat.

Jasper swings Alice up over his shoulder and carries her over the front porch, up the steps and deposits Alice back on her feet in front of Emmett, were she wraps her arms around his waist looking up into his face.

"She's coming"

Emmett wraps his arms around Alice.

"You've said that before and look at the mess I made with Bella" Emmett replies sadly.

"I know and I'm sorry" Alice lays her head on Emmett's wide chest.

Emmett and Bella Swan dated for about a month after she moved to Folks from Arizona to live with her father, Chief of Police Charlie Swan. Emmett was hesitant and luckily never told the family secret as they broke up after Emmett found out she has slept with one of the boys from the reservation. When Emmett confronted Bella about it she denied it of course but Emmett knew she was lying since he could smell it on her. Emmett could tell her scent had changed and that was enough proof for him to end the relationship and his family stood by him with his decision.

The family gathers around Emmett and Alice. Carlisle places a hand on Emmett's shoulder while Esme lifts one of his burly arms up and off of Alice so she can join in the hug of her son and daughter.

"We will be more cautious this time son" Carlisle states firmly.

Emmett nods his head in agreement and understanding of Carlisle's words and gives Alice and Esme another big bear hug.

Emmett knows no matter what his family has his back and that felt good.
