Epilogue: Recovery
The true final battle has officially begun, with no more setbacks. Super Sonic boosted towards the Titan, aiming to destroy its head. The behemoth's eyes fired their beams, but the super hedgehog avoided them at unimaginable speeds and hit one of its ten eyes. Sparks flew out of the robot's eye, it swiped with its left hand to try and catch Sonic but missed.
The super hedgehog then penetrated another one of the Titan's eyes. He continued doing it until all the eyes were destroyed, leaving the behemoth blind.
Super Sonic crossed his arms, "Is that all you got?" he said in disappointment, "I was expecting a greater battle for an alien robot." He then boosted at the behemoth's head.
The Titan swiped its left hand mindlessly, as it tried to hit anything. Super Sonic then pierced its forehead, leaving a gaping hole. The behemoth tried to maintain its balance, but the damage was too fatal to keep itself online and fell back flat on Robotropolis.
"... That's it!" Super Sonic shouted in disbelief, "I was expecting to end it fast, but not THAT fast! Is this some kind of joke?!" He landed on the Titan's chest to examine the damage.
From the Egg Carrier's crash site, Eggman and the others watched at how the Titan was defeated so easily. So much anticipation for an epic showdown, gone down the well.
"So that thing can handle the mighty Egg Cannon, but not a Super form? Pathetic," the doctor scoffed.
"Well, that's embarrassing," Amy snarked.
"There's no way it could've survived that," said Tails skeptically. "It must have one last trick we haven't triggered yet."
"Sonic, shred that thing to pieces!" shouted Knuckles.
Super Sonic nodded, "Will do!" He then began charging up a spin dash mid air.
SNT, meanwhile, approached the Master Emerald, she wondered if she could transform into the same super being like Sonic. She lifted the debris out of the way and stared at the big jewel in front of her. This emerald holds some kind of power inside, can it also… change me? she thought. She reached out her hand to touch the big jewel.
Super Sonic used every bit of energy he had into a single but powerful spin dash. He then aimed his body towards the Titan's chest to destroy its arc reactor. One single attack was all it was gonna take. But suddenly the behemoth reactivated and grabbed Super Sonic out of the air.
"What the?!" The gold hedgehog shouted. He tried to break free from its grasp, but his Super form ran out of energy.
The Titan got up to everyone's surprise, Sonic watched as the behemoth's eyes and hole in its forehead began self-repairing. It wasn't over.
"Target acquired: Sonic the Hedgehog, hero of Mobius. Designation: Bring to master." The Titan spoke in a loud robotic voice. Its red eyes lit up again and stared down at the captured hedgehog.
The giant robot stood up and the spikes attached behind it transformed into enormous bat-like wings and took off to the skies. The mobians and Doctor Eggman were dumbfounded at what they just witnessed.
"IT CAN REPAIR ITSELF!" Eggman screamed.
"What are we supposed to do now?!" Tails shouted in despair.
Amy covered her mouth, Sonic couldn't have lost. He never loses, especially as Super Sonic. Knuckles clenched his fists and growled at the Titan. SNT's body began to shake, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. She turned back to the Master Emerald and nodded to herself.
"I have no other choice," SNT murmured. She touched the emerald with a single thought in her mind, please, help me defeat that giant robot.She screamed, as a surge of energy flowed through her veins, her light blue fur raised up and began transforming to a bright gold like Sonic's super form. Her green eyes turned into a shiny pink.
Wind formed around the Egg Carrier's crash site, everyone turned to see the hybrid transforming.
"What's she doing!?" Amy asked, as the wind blew around her quills.
"Isn't it obvious," Eggman said, "she's absorbing the Master Emerald's power!"
When SNT's transformation finished, the super powered hybrid hyper ventilated. The rush of power was too much for her to handle.
"I feel… different," she said to herself. " This power… It's so… good!" The hybrid boosted to the sky and chased after the Titan.
...
The giant robot flew higher and higher to the atmosphere. Where a portal opened up right before it. Sonic still struggled in the winged behemoth's grasp.
"What's the big idea, Bucket Head?" Sonic retorted, "Where are you taking me? And who's this master you speak of?"
The Titan did not respond to any of Sonic's questions.
"Well then, keep your secrets," the hedgehog said.
"Sonic!" A voice called out to the blue blur.
"Huh," the hedgehog wondered, looking down he saw a glimmering golden aura boosting its way to the giant robot. As the aura approached closer and closer, it revealed itself to be SNT in her new super form.
Sonic gasped, "SNT!"
"Don't worry, I'll help you," the hybrid claimed.
"SNT, destroy the wings, and once you do that, attack its big red light," the hedgehog ordered.
"Will do." The hybrid gave a thumbs up.
Super SNT then boosted towards the Titan's left wing, piercing through its joint. The force of the attack cleaved the wing off the Titan's back.
The behemoth began losing height, it was that close to getting inside the portal. Super SNT then boosted towards the robot's chest, while the behemoth fired its eye lasers.
The hybrid tried her best to dodge the lasers, but a few of them landed their shots as they knocked her away. But the hybrid persisted. She boosted again this time, dodging all the lasers the behemoths fired. She eyed the Titan's red arc reactor and prepared a spin dash mid air. The giant robot knew what SNT was planning and charged all its energy for a singular mega laser from its chest.
The hybrid then propelled her body forwards and the Titan fired the giant beam, completely engulfing Super SNT in it. The hybrid tried her best to push through, but the beam kept her away with very little effort.
But that was when SNT had a sudden surge of energy within her body again. A single word whispered through her head.
Special… Special… Special… Special…
Out of nowhere, SNT was enveloped in a bright pink aura that shielded her from the Titan's laser. What's happening… What kind of power is this? She thought, but shook her head and saved that for a later time. She charged another spin dash and tore through the beam with little to no effort.
The Titan kept the laser up, but it could not stop SNT's new found power. The hybrid pierced through the giant robot's chest, coming out of the back and destroying its arc reactor. The behemoth twitched and convulsed, sparks of electricity flew out of its chassis, and its eyes dimmed. SNT went to the robot's left hand and ripped the fingers off, freeing Sonic in the process.
Sonic grabbed onto SNT and hung on, as the hybrid flew beyond supersonic speeds to Robotropolis. The damage was too much for the Titan as it bursted into flames, and bright pink energy flowed through its body. The behemoth's body could not contain the energy inside it and exploded in a large pink explosion, sending all of its remains to the bottom of the ocean.
…
From the devastated Robotropolis, Eggman and the mobians watched the explosion, covering their eyes from the pink fire. The Titan was no more.
"Woo! That's how it's done!" Amy exclaimed.
"They did it…" Tails gasped.
"I knew she had it in her," Knuckles smiled.
Eggman was shocked at what he just witnessed. Did SNT do that? What was that power? But before he could answer those questions himself, Super SNT and Sonic landed on the Egg Carrier's crash site, where their friends and enemy were waiting.
SNT's super form ran out just as she touched the ground. The hybrid felt exhausted and nauseous from her battle in the sky that she almost fell, but Sonic caught her just in the nick of time.
Amy was the first one to approach the two, "Sonic! Are you okay? And SNT, what did you do?"
"That was awesome!" Tails exclaimed, "Can you do that again?"
"Not bad," Knuckles said.
"Everyone, calm down," Sonic reassured, "we're fine. That bucket head is no more, we can rest easy now."
"No…" Eggman interrupted, "That 'thing' was just a warning, I feel this is not the end."
The mobians looked at Eggman confused, "Eggman, did a couple screws in your head loose?" Sonic said.
The doctor glared at his archnemesis, "This is no time for your dumb remarks, rodent. This will not end well for anyone, not even us."
"Yeah, he definitely has lost mind," Sonic said under his breath.
"Really! Since when did you care about the planet's well-being, huh?!" Amy snapped.
"Amy, don't start!" Tails grabbed the pink hedgehog by her arm.
"So then, what should we do?" Knuckles asked, "Besides, what was that thing anyway?"
Eggman paused for a moment, "I think it's time for all of you to go,"
The mobians gasped, "WHAT!" They all shouted in unison.
The sound of a thrusters perked everyone's ears as a shuttle with Eggman's face came into view along with Metal Sonic, who held Cream the Rabbit by her arms. The Eggman based spaceship activated its landing gear and lowered until it touched the ground. Everyone except for the doctor were surprised to see them.
The small rabbit ran to hug Amy, "Ms. Amy, Mr. Tails, thanks for coming to my rescue!"
The twin tailed fox and pink hedgehog scratched the back of their heads awkwardly, "It's nice to know you're safe, Cream," Amy said.
Knuckles picked up the Master Emerald from the wreckage of the Egg Carrier. He lifted the giant jewel above his head and said, "Guess this is goodbye, Eggman," he said in a bitter tone.
"The Egg Shuttle is ready to depart!" Orbot announced.
"The Cubot Express is about to depart!" Cubot shouted.
The shuttle's ramp lowered from the left side. Sonic and his friends stepped inside the spaceship with no departing words to Eggman. The Egg Shuttle retracted its landing gear and took off to the skies.
Metal Sonic approached his creator and asked, "Doctor, why did you want them to leave?"
Eggman sighed, "I'm afraid that we're going to need all the help we can. I feel a legend is about to come true, and we're about to witness the beginning of something much, much bigger than us…"
Time passed as the Egg Shuttle soared through the night sky. Knuckles and Cream were already left in their respective homes. The only ones left were Sonic, Tails, Amy and SNT. Orbot steered the spaceship above a forest, as they approached Tails' workshop and the house that was next to the lake.
SNT looked through the window to see a shooting star soaring through the sky.
"Sonic look, a shooting star!" she called out.
The hedgehog joined his sister-figure by the shuttle's side window. The two saw the burning star soar through the night. It was the most beautiful sight SNT ever saw in her life. She smiled, as she asked herself one thing, What will my next adventure be?
Although, if the shuttle was much closer, they could've seen that it wasn't a shooting star at all. It was in fact another spacecraft. It was small and shaped like a cartoon star, the tiny spaceship crash landed in the forest. Leaving a long trail of dug up dirt and smoke in its way. When the dust settled, the blast doors opened revealing a pink, eight inch tall puffball.
That is all folks! SNT the Experiment has been completed, I just wanna say that a LOT has happened through out these two years of writing this story. From the rebranding, Courtney (ProjectSNT) herself reading this fanfic on stream and the constant rewrites to previous chapters. But now, it is done. I'll never come back to this story, unless I missed some spelling and/or grammar mistake. The journey is done and I could not be happier!
