(This is a revised version of Frozen Heart- Chapter One, basically went back and fixed grammar along with a few things added.) I Will be doing this for other chapters as well)
It has been six years since the wicked witch, Zelena, was defeated. Although they were still in Storybrooke, The citizens of Storybrooke/enchanted forest didn't really mind. In fact, they didn't really care where they ended up as long there weren't any flying monkeys or green witches terrorizing them.
Since the defeat of Zelena, life went back to normal in Storybrooke well as normal as a town full of fairy tale characters can be. Storybrooke was at peace without the threat of any curses or villains threatening them for a change. It seemed like everyone got their happy ending or rather a happy beginning, especially for Snow and David(Charming), who got a second chance as parents with their youngest daughter Hope.
"Alright, sweetie, time for bed," Snow said to her daughter as she tried to get Hope ready for bed, especially since it was past her bedtime.
"But mommy, I'm not tired yet...five more minutes, please," Hope protested, trying to hide a little yawn escaping from her mouth.
"Hope, you already stayed up fifteen minutes more than you were supposed to." Snow replied with a small laugh, amused by her daughter's stubbornness.
"Besides, the faster you go to sleep, the faster it will be your birthday," Charming chimed in, coming into the living room where his wife and daughter were.
"And you don't want to delay that, do you?" Snow continued. It was no surprise that Hope was always excited about her birthday. Every year, on the day before her birthday, she would always beg for some way to skip to her actual birthday, which often amused everyone.
"Fine, but can you tell me a story?" Hope yawned, clearly showing how tired she was.
"Alright, but only one okay," Charming said, picking up Hope.
"Goodnight, Hope," Snow said, watching Charming carry Hope to her room.
"Night, Mommy," She heard Hope call out.
"I take it Hope finally is going to bed," A voice called out, causing Snow to turn around only to see her older daughter Emma.
"Emma, I didn't even hear you come in," Snow exclaimed, causing Emma to let out a little laugh. "I'm guessing Henry wanted to stay with Regina and Robin for the night."
"More like too tired to come home," Emma said with a laugh as she sat down on the couch. "What?" Emma asked, noticing the curious look on her mother's face. "Everything alright, mom?"
"Oh yeah, everything's fine, but There's snow on your jacket," Snow pointed out, looking at her daughter's favorite red leather jacket.
"Yeah, about that, that's what Regina wanted to talk to me about. She noticed snow falling this afternoon and wanted me to investigate it," Emma admitted wiping the snow off her jacket.
"Good news, Hope's in bed" Charming gladly started walking back into the living room. "I didn't think that Henry's book would come in handy."
"I told you so. Which story did you read about this time?" Snow remarked back to Charming's statement.
"The one of how we met," Charming replied. "I'm guessing you seen the snow."
"Yeah, the only thing I'm trying to figure out is why it is snowing In the middle of spring, "Emma answered, looking out the window as the snow was quickly falling. "Maybe, I should go check it out a little more.
"I'm sure it can wait until the morning," Snow quickly insisted "you've been out, You day investigating. You should call it a night. You don't want to miss out on your sister's birthday, do you?"
"Of course not, you know I love my little sis, but what if anything strange happens tomorrow, shouldn't we? I don't know prepare for that? I mean, this is the first time in six years that something strange has actually happened here," Emma remarked, looking out the window where the snow was still falling.
"Hey, I'm sure everything is gonna be okay," Charming assured his daughter. "I mean, who knows. It could just be magic snow that Hope wished for her birthday."
"Dad, I appreciate the optimism, but I really think that-"
"Ok, I know this snowfall is pretty mysterious, but I'm sure this can wait until tomorrow," Snow said, cutting off her daughter's sentence. "After all, we still have Hope's birthday tomorrow, and She's only turning six once."
"Okay, you gotta point mom, tomorrow it is," Emma said with a small laugh at her mom's statement while Charming only shook his head. They both knew Snow always went all out for birthdays. Especially for family birthdays. Soon like most of Storybrooke, the charming family turned in for the night to get ready for a special day. As for the mysterious snowfall, well, little did anyone know that this snowfall was only the beginning...
