Chapter 1
"Hero of Hyrule, chosen by the sword that seals the darkness," Zelda says officially starting the ceremony, by the tone she is talking in it sounds like she is being forced to do this.
"You have shown unflinching bravery and skill in the face of darkness and adversity. And have proven yourself worthy of the blessings of the Goddess Hylia." By the golden goddesses can she at least make it seem like she likes me, I have no clue why she treats me this way but now that I'm her appointed knight I have to put up with it, but the princess here makes it seem like I'm killing her everytime I'm in her sight, I hope she doesn't cause a scene.
"Whether skyward bound adrift in time, or steeped in the glowing embers of twilight, the sacred blade is forever bound to the soul of the hero." At this point, I've toned out the princess and started to hear what the other champions are saying about this 'ceremony'
"Gee this is uplifting, she's making it sound like we've already lost." Daruk, champion of Vah Rudania says and I full-heartedly agree with him.
"Wasn't this your idea, you're the one who wanted to designate the appointed knight with all the ceremonial pomp-grandeur, and nonsense we could muster." Bird Brain or Revali, champion of Vah Medoh points out to Daruk. Sometimes I feel like Princess Zelda and Bird Brain are in a club specially designed to hate on me and he is the leader of the club.
"And if you ask me the whole thing does seem to be overkill, I think I'm on the same page as the princess regarding this girl" I can feel his eyes burning into my backside as Urbosa, champion of Vah Naboris looks over to Bird Brain.
"Oh give it a rest, that girl is a living reminder of her own failures, well at least that's how the princess sees her." Failures? I wonder if I'm being too harsh on her but why am I the living reminder?
The 'ceremony' just ended as I get up from one knee and stretch my legs, it's been a long time since I sat like that for so long, I brush off my trousers and turn to see everyone leaving the sacred ground besides Mipha, champion of Vah Ruta. Mipha and I have been friends since we were little but I haven't seen her in a while since I've been so busy, Mipha starts to walk up to me.
"Hey Lynk, it has been a while, this whole Calamity thing is really crazy right." She says and I shake my head un and down and I really mean it, 3 years ago when I was still 14 I wouldn't that all of Hyrule would have to come together to fight off an otherworldly threat and I would play a major role. She suddenly looks sad and says to me.
"Don't let the others words get to you, I'm they'll warm up soon, well I hope they will." I hear her whisper the last part, part of me wants to believe that they but the other says that they will forever hate me.
"Well I have to go now or father will start to worry about me, I hope we will have time to chat later, goodbye Lynk," Mipha says as she walks away, even though their words didn't affect me its comforting to know at least one person cares about my feelings.
A couple of hours after the ceremony I'm walking in Castle Town looking for hydromelons I pass 3 stores before I find a fruits store, I find the hydromelons, and as I'm about to grab one I fell skin touch my hand and hear a gasp, I look to my left and see the princess, great like I wasn't humiliated enough today.
"I'm sorry I wasn't looking for what I was grabbing" that apology sounded very rushed and not fully sorry but I couldn't care less, we both grab different hydromelons, and next on my list to make Creamy Heart Soup is a voltfruit I look up and see the princess taking the same path as me I look past it and find the voltfruit I look up and the princess also here she looks at me and says
"Are you following me, I don't need an escort when I'm in Castle Town, I thought I told father that" I shake my head and show her my list for what I'm getting.
"You're also getting Creamy Heart Soup" I nod to that, I hope we stop talking soon so I can get the rest of the ingredients.
"I-I'm sorry for accusing you of following me, in return, I play for the ingredients." My eyes widen, I wasn't expecting that out of the princess that hates my guts. Me and Zelda walk together in peaceful silence for the rest of the ingredients, once we get out of the store I bow lightly, it's the least I can do since she paid for me.
"You're welcome," she says, I wave and start walking away. Maybe I am being mean by thinking she hates me.
