Chapter Eleven
Leonardo saw Komodo's clawed hand out of the corner of his eye, yet he didn't have a chance to move as the claws got closer to his face.
Just then a sai appeared out of nowhere and impaled Komodo's hand making him yell in pain and Leonardo looked to the side to see Raphael appear.
"Get away from my brother freak!" he roared.
Leonardo then felt relief run through his body as he saw his brothers and Monalisa appear, all brandishing their weapons.
"Dammnit!" Komodo Dragon growled as he cradled his hand and he looked at Nile Monitor and Gila Monster "Get them!" he shouted to which the larger lizards ran towards the remaining turtles and the lizard Lady.
"Mona! Donnie!" Raphael shouted "Go and find Kemeko! Mikey and I will help Fearless!"
"Got it!" Mona agreed then leapt to the side, Donatello following her to deal with Black Mamba and Cobra.
"What took you guys so long?" Leonardo demanded as he crossed his swords to stop Nile Monitor who sliced at him.
"Sorry bro!" Raphael snapped "We tried to get here as quick as possible!"
"Yeah!" Michelangelo agreed as he faced Gila Monster swinging his nun chucks.
Raphael meanwhile turned to Komodo Dragon who pulled the sai out of his hand and the turtle leapt towards the giant lizard and kicked his hand to get his sai back.
"That's mine, ugly!" Raphael growled as he did a backflip and caught the sai then crouched to fight Komodo Dragon who snarled as his wounded hand started to heal.
"You're dead, Raphael!" he glowered.
"Bring it!" Raphael shouted.
Meanwhile, Donatello and Mona went for Cobra and Black Mamba.
Donatello used his staff to strike Cobra before the spitter could react.
"Why don't you pick on someone your own size!" the brainy turtle barked to which Cobra jumped back up and hissed, peeling back her lips ready to spit.
Mona meanwhile jumped on the vent to face Black Mamba who looked up from trying to claw her way inside the vent.
"Mona Lisa." Black Mamba smirked "Come to save the day?"
"Get away from my niece, you bitch!" Mona snarled.
Black Mamba just smirked.
"After I take you down! I'll make you suffer greatly!" she hissed then jumped onto the vent to fight Mona taking out her tanto and spinning them.
Mona narrowed her eyes and slashed the air with her fans.
"Come on!" the Lizard Lady glared.
Inside the vent, Kemeko curled up tightly in the darkness, she could hear the battle outside and it scared her, yet she heard the voices of her father, uncles, and aunt as they fought the Venomous Five.
As much as she was terrified of the darkness surrounding her in the vent, the fear of the dangers outside frightened her even more.
She knew she had to find another way out of the vent so she could be safe, at least until her father, uncles and aunt were able to fight off the deadly Venomous Five.
She remembered the story Pandora told her about finding her way through the vents that Christmas ago when the evil reptiles pursued her, and she was able to get out of trouble.
Taking a deep breath and remembering how she had taught herself and listened to her father's advice about embracing the dark as a friend, Kemeko began to move through the vents to look for another way out.
Meanwhile, the turtles and Mona continued to fight the Venomous Five.
Mona had her hands full trying to fend off Black Mamba.
Donatello was fighting Cobra as well as trying to avoid her spraying Venom.
Leonardo was using his swords against the claws of Nile Monitor.
Raphael was leaping around trying to catch Komodo Dragon off guard, and Michelangelo was swinging his nun chucks against Gila Monster who was snapping his jaws and slashing with his claws.
"Don't deny it Fearless!" Nile Monitor snarled as he caught Leonardo's katana in his claws "Kemeko will find out sooner or later her origins! About her connection with the Shredder!"
"Shut up!" Leonardo screamed as he pushed back, scared Kemeko would hear their violent and rather revealing conversation.
"She will find out!" Nile Monitor snarled "She will!"
"And she'll hate you for it!" Gila Monster hissed as he swiped at Michelangelo who did a backflip to avoid him.
"She'll hate the fact you kept secrets from you!" Komodo Dragon smirked "And she'll want to know answers!"
"She'll come to us!" Black Mamba gloated as she struck at Mona who had no time to react as the snake's claws struck her face and she fell to the floor, her cheek sliced.
"Mona! No!" Raphael cried, and as he was distracted, Komodo Dragon slammed his hand on top of him knocking him to the ground and he placed his large foot on Raphael's shell.
"Gotcha hot-head!" he hissed, flexing his hand which had now fully healed from where the sai had impaled him.
Leonardo's eyes widened seeing his brother and adopted sister go down, yet he kept his focus to keep fighting.
Michelangelo and Donatello were also shocked but they too stood their ground.
Donatello struck Cobra in the forehead making her fall back then backflipped to help his brothers.
"Damn!" Komodo Dragon cursed as he saw Cobra get knocked down, he then turned to Black Mamba who was standing over a downed Mona.
"Find the girl!" he ordered.
"But Komodo!" Black Mamba protested "I was about to cut up the Lizard bitch nice and good!"
"You'll get time for that later!" Komodo Dragon barked "Find the girl first!"
Black Mamba hissed in disappointment, yet she nodded and went to look for Kemeko.
"No!" Leonardo cried worried for his adopted daughter as he pushed Nile Monitor back.
"Leo!" Donatello's voice rang in his ears and he soon saw his brainy brother kick Komodo Dragon in the back then somersault off before landing next to him.
"Go find Kemeko!" Donatello ordered "Mikey and I will take over here!"
"Don…?" Leonardo started.
"Don't argue!" Donatello snapped "Kemeko needs you! Go get her before Black Mamba does!"
Leonardo narrowed his eyes, he wanted to help his brothers, but he knew he had to protect Kemeko, just like he promised Karai on her death bed.
"Okay!" he said, "I'll be back!" he leapt towards the vents as Donatello and Michelangelo turned to the remaining lizards.
Gila Monster, Nile Monitor and Komodo Dragon stood before the younger turtles and hissed.
"Three against two!" Gila Monster snarled "You stand no chance!"
"Wanna bet ugly?" Michelangelo spat as he swung his nun-chucks "Come on!"
Donatello also spun his bo staff and bared his teeth ready to fight and protect his family.
Leonardo leapt over to the vents, where he saw the knocked out Cobra, and Black Mamba was feeling around the vents looking for Kemeko.
"You can run!" Black Mamba hissed "But you can't hide! I can feel where you go! There is no escape!"
Leonardo leapt over to Black Mamba and brought his katana down on the vent almost catching Black Mamba's fingers, yet she jumped back.
"Fuck it!" she hissed.
"You touch my daughter and I will end you!" Leonardo snarled.
"She's not your daughter!" Black Mamba growled "Never was and never will be! She is Shredder's kin! And we will return her to where she belongs!"
"Over my dead body!" Leonardo roared as he slashed his katana at Black Mamba who struck back with her tanto.
"Oh, we will!" Black Mamba mocked "Over your dead body! Shredder wants to make you pay dearly! I think he'll enjoy killing you mostly! After all you did!"
Leonardo glared hard as he fought back against the black snake.
"Shredder spoke about how he plans to make you suffer the most!" Black Mamba hissed "The one who convinced Karai to leave the Foot, to abandon her family, her heritage! Everything! And take away what was rightfully Shredder's! You are in for a nightmare when Shredder gets his hands on you!"
"That will never happen bitch!" Leonardo snapped "As long as there is breath in my body! Shredder will never touch Kemeko!"
He slashed his katana at Black Mamba who leaned back to avoid the blades.
"You can't keep her away from Shredder forever!" Black Mamba hissed "She will know one day! She will one day know who she truly is!"
Meanwhile, Kemeko crawled from the vent, she could still hear the battle outside as well as the voice.
The darkness of the vents still made her uneasy, yet it didn't compare to the sounds of the fighting outside and if she was to be honest to herself, she preferred the darkness of the vents than to be faced with those nightmare reptilian creatures above which her father, grandfather, uncles, and aunt had told her about.
Closing her eyes, she remembered her training and what she kept telling herself, than the darkness was a friend and how she could feel safe within it as a ninja, and as long as she stayed within the darkness, she would be safe.
Kemeko stopped for a moment in the vent and pulled her knees to her chest, listening to the battle above, she thought maybe it was safe to remain where she was until the battle was over and she heard the voices of her loved ones who would coax her out.
"Daddy." She whispered softly "Please be okay….please win against those monsters! I need you!"
Opening her eyes, she looked around within the darkness of the vent.
"Darkness…." She breathed "Please keep me safe until my father comes to find me….please! I am not afraid of you, I am your friend, and you are mine! Keep me safe from those monsters above! Keep me safe until father finds me…."
Wow! Looks like it's a battle to the death! The turtles and Mona have their hands full with the deadly and merciless V5, and Kemeko is still stuck in the vents, yet our little Japanese girl heroine is starting to feel that the darkness is her friend since she feels safe within it whilst the V5 who are more dangerous and terrifying are occupied topside.
