Major Crimes Mysteries
The Family McCoy
Epilogue
What was supposed to be a quiet dinner with the Flynns and Provenzas ended up being a dinner party with the team. Flynn made his famous eggplant parmesan and team members brought each of their favorite dishes to accompany it. The night was filled with lots of food, fun and laughter. What made the evening even more spectacular was the Dodgers were playing that night. The team huddled around the tv clapping, laughing, and booing responding to whatever was going on. Sharon was even in the team spirit wearing Andy's favorite Dodgers hat that she had taken over even before they seriously began dating.
At some point, Patrice tapped Sharon on her shoulder and motioned for her to go out to the balcony with her. She handed Sharon a glass of her favorite wine and took her hand as they walked out the sliding glass door.
"You are looking absolutely fabulous, Sharon. How are your nightmares going?" Patrice asked Sharon.
Sharon smiled reflectively, looking up to the sky and told her friend. "Much better. I haven't had one since the death of Tristan Roberts. It was easier to let go of things than I thought it would be. I really wish I would have figured it out earlier and I would have been much more honest with Andy than thinking I needed to figure it out myself. That I was a one-woman island seeking out my next crusade."
"That's good, my friend. That's good." Patrice took Sharon's hand in hers again. "Life is about constant learning. I don't care if you are two years old or two old birds like us." Both women started laughing hysterically at Patrice's comments knowing just how true they were.
All of a sudden, the two women heard their husbands yelling at each other about the baseball game.
"Flynn, that has to be one of the stupidest comments you have ever made." Louie yelled at Flynn.
"It isn't as dumb as leaving a murder scene because you have sky box tickets to the game! It took forever to pay off everything we had to give the team for covering your ass." Andy yelled back at his best friend.
"Really, Flynn. Is that all you have? That was over a decade ago. Your comment was five minutes ago." Louie retorted.
The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and started laughing. As they looked in the door all the team was laughing at the duo except Buzz, who had his face in his hand and was shaking his head. Sharon knew the three men loved each other. Buzz just got more of the two men's antics than the rest of the team did.
"They're all ours." Patrice told Sharon laughing.
"Yes, they are and we wouldn't have it any other way." Sharon still laughing replied.
Patrice agreed and the two women walked over to their husbands still bantering about whatever comment Andy had made about the play the pitcher had made.
Sharon put her arms around Andy's waist and looked up at him. He smiled down at her and blinked slowly. He playfully pulled the Dodgers cap down over her eyes and gave her a hard kiss on her lips.
