Hey guys sorry it's been a few months since the first chapter, I have been very busy in the past few months. I got a new full-time job, my first car and I had to finish paying my parents back before I could buy my own laptop so I could continue writing this story and other stories in the future. I'm back now so let's continue with the story. Again, sorry for such a long wait.
"It's a new day and we find our new heroes on Route 1 heading towords Nacrene City in the afternoon to catch a train to Aspertia City for Azrael's first ever gym battle." The narrator said.
"How's your jaw feeling Oshawott?" Azrael asked.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said casually.
"Nurse Joy really knows her stuff doesn't she." Azrael said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott agreed.
Azrael then looked to the side and saw a small open field.
"Alright. Let's stop here for a while so we can train and have some lunch." Azrael said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said feeling pumped.
Azrael then walked out to the open field and saw that the field was filled with boulders half the size of the boulder from yesterday.
"Alright partner, I want you to do some more work on your Razor Shell and Water Gun. You might have made some great progress yesterday, but it still needs some work. So, before we start, I want you to stand in front of that boulder in front of us." Azrael said.
Oshawott then jumped off Azrael's shoulder and ran to the spot he was told to go to. He then saw Azrael walking to the side where there were no rocks around him and he saw Azrael put his bag down and begin to unpack a few things.
"Alright Oshawott you successfully managed to use Razor Shell against a stationary target and then managed to use it against living targets with Team Rocket yesterday. Now were going to see if you can use one move after another. See those boulders in front of you?" Azrael asked.
Oshawott then looked in front of him and saw five boulders in two lines. One of those boulders was a little closer than the other.
"I want you to run to each boulder, use Razor Shell on it and then move on to the next one and do the same with each and when you reach the last one, I want you to jump, turn around in the air and use Water Gun on the boulder currently behind you. That way we can work on the power of your Razor Shell, Water Gun, your ability to focus, your footing and your aim at the same time. In the meantime, while you do that, I will get us some lunch ready. Don't worry I'll be watching the whole time." Azrael said.
"Osha." Oshawott said as he nodded to his partner.
Oshawott then grabbed his scalchop and after three seconds before the blade finally appeared which caused Azrael to lower his eyebrows in concern.
"Oshawott's Razor Shell takes too long to get ready if we want to enter the Unova League we need that Razor Shell to appear immediately." Azrael thought to himself.
Oshawott then ran towards the first boulder and used his Razor Shell, creating a cut almost as deep as the one he left on the boulder form yesterday. He then ran to the next boulder and did the same thing, leaving a cut that's about the same as the last one. Oshawott then sliced through the final boulder and jumped into the air. He then turned around mid-air and shot his Water Gun which passed by each boulder smashing into the boulder that Oshawott was standing in front of before. The Water Gun then stopped and the boulder had a crater in it, unfortunately the crater wasn't as big as they wanted.
"Osha." Oshawott said slightly disappointed.
"Don't worry about it Oshawott. Just keep trying until you break that boulder." Azrael said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said as he nodded.
Oshawott then walked back to the first boulder to start the process again.
"Oshawott." Azrael called out which caused Oshawott to look back at his partner.
"Before you use Water Gun try taking a deeper breath as you fly through the air." Azrael suggested.
Oshawott nodded and sliced through the boulders again this time leaving slightly deeper cuts than last time. He then jumped into the air again like last time, but this time he took a deep breath as he turned around. Oshawott then shot his Water Gun from his mouth and this time he released greater amounts of water and the attack was moving at a much faster pace. The attack then struck the boulder completely shattering it this time.
"Way to go Oshawott." Azrael said congratulating him.
"Oshawott Oshawott Oshawott." Oshawott said while jumping up and down.
"Alright lunch should be ready soon after I finish unpacking. So, in the meantime let's work on your aim with Water Gun and this time stay where you are and shoot at the tree on the far side of the field and remember take a deep breath." Azrael said.
"OshaWOOOOOOOOTT." Oshawott said as he shot his Water Gun across the entire field.
The Water Gun and it hit centre of the tree, which caused the tree to shake quite a bit. What they heard next surprised them quite a bit.
"Hey." A feminine voice said.
"Whose there?" Azrael said while holding the sword's handle.
A girl that looked to be the same age as Azrael then came out of the bushes. She had mid length green hair with small light red tips, a green t-shirt with short black jeans along with red sneakers she had a standard bag on her back…and some very wet hair.
"Was your Pokémon the one who got me wet?" The girl asked frustrated.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Let me get you a towel." Azrael said.
Oshawott then ran up to the girl.
"Oshawott Oshawott Oshawott." Oshawott said while bowing to her over and over again.
"It's alright little guy. I know you didn't mean it. Besides thanks to you I don't have to worry about washing my hair." The girl said with a smile.

Azrael then went back to his bag and grabbed a towel and handed it over to the girl.
"Thank you very much." The girl said while taking the towel.
The girl then began to dry her hair and Azrael began to blush as he was now able to look at her with a calmer mind. She then handed the towel back to Azrael with a smile.
"Thanks again. By the way would you happen to be Azrael Vortex?" She asked.
"Yeah, that's me. Why do you ask?" Azrael asked.
"Because Professor Juniper said you were heading in this direction. I'm very new to travelling and battle, she told me you were very smart and suggested I come and find you. I'm Alice by the way, it's nice to meet you to." Alice explained.
"Nice to meet you to. By the way, why were you in the bush?" Azrael asked while putting the towel back in his bag.
"Oh, about that. I was hiding." The girl said embarrassed.
"Hiding? Hiding from what?" Azrael asked walking back to her.
The trees behind Alice then began to shake, which made the girl begin to turn her head in fear slowly and Azrael to tilt his head to the right to look at the trees. Then a huge flock of bird Pokémon began to fly into the air above the trees. All of the birds had grey and black talons, wings and upper half of their body, but half of them had a lower body of green with some sort of pink mask on their faces, while the other ones had a brown lower body and no mask.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHH/OSHAAAAAAAAAAA." Azrael, Alice and Oshawott said in unison.
Azrael then lifted his arm and pointed his pokedex at them.
"Unfezant. The proud Pokémon and the final evolved form of Pidove and the evolved form of Tranquill. A normal and flying type. Unfezant are exceptional flyers. The males are known for their superior speed, while the females are known for their greater stamina." The pokedex said.
"Not them again. Don't worry Azrael, I'll handle them." Alice said as she brought out a pokeball.
"Are you crazy? You can't take them all on." Azrael said surprised.
"Come on out Snivy." Alice said as she threw her pokeball ignoring Azrael.
"Snivy." Snivy said.
"Hey, that's the same Snivy from yesterday." Azrael said and Oshawott nodded.
"Are you ready for a rematch Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy." Snivy said nodding.
"Alright Snivy, use Vine Whip." Alice said.
"Sniiiiii vy vy." Snivy said.
Snivy's Vine Whip went straight to the nearest Unfezant, but the move didn't come close to hitting it.
"Wait, the vines aren't long enough?" Alice said surprised.
All the Unfezant then brought their wings in front of them and a big blue cross then came from each of them which then headed straight for them.
"MOVE." Azrael said.
Then Azrael, Alice, Oshawott and Snivy jumped away and the attacks then hit the spots they previously stood upon which cused a small explosion and they all landed on the ground hard. All the Unfezant then began to glow white and charged straight at them.
"This is bad. Quickly into the forest." Azrael said as he grabbed her wrist and ran into the trees with Oshawott and Snivy following close behind them.
"Hey. I can run by myself." Alice said blushing.
"When we get to the forest hide in an area where the trees are close together." Azrael said.
"I don't get why, but okay." Alice said.
They then went into the forest and quickly found an area where the trees were separate enough so they could pass between and the gap was just a little less wide than them, but there was a large branch in the way.
"Stay back I'll make this quick." Azrael said.
Azrael then unsheathed his katana and managed to slice the branch off with one swing.
"In there." Azrael said.
All four of them then ran into the area with the enclosed trees and each trainer hid behind a different tree with their respective Pokémon.
"Why did we stop? Those Unfezant are still after us." Alice said.
"Wait and see." Azrael said.
The Unfezant were coming to the enclosed trees at high speed, but before they finished their attack, they stopped.
"What! Why did they stop?" Alice asked.
"Look." Azrael said.
The girl then looked at the Unfezant and they were flying around the trees in confusion. Then one tried to get through the trees but couldn't.
"Oh, I see. The trees are too close together so they can't reach us." Alice said surprised.
After a few seconds, the Unfezant realised they weren't going to reach them and flew away.
"Few. Thank Arceus they left." Azrael said relieved.
"Why didn't they just destroy the trees? It doesn't look like it would have been hard." Alice said.
"It probably because they build their nests in trees. They probably just didn't want to destroy any potential future habitats." Azrael said.
"I'm impressed you know that. How many Pokémon did you study?" Alice said.
"Not that many. I just studied some of the Pokémon that live in the areas between Nuvema Town and Nacrene City in case I had to come this way, which ended up being the case." Azrael said.
"How convenient. That's quite an impressive sword by the way." Alice said.
"Thanks, it was my grandpa's. He gave it to me before I left for my journey." Azrael said as he put the sword away.
"I think we should probably reintroduce ourselves. I'm Azrael, nice to meet you." Azrael said offering a handshake and Oshawott climbed on his shoulder.
"I'm Alice. Thank you for getting those Pokémon off our backs." Alice said accepting the handshake and as Snivy climbed on her head.
"No problem. Anything for a new friend." Azrael said.
"Wait were friends now?" Alice asked.
"Of course. How could we not be friends after that." Azrael said.
"I guess you're right." Alice said smiling.
They then heard a rustling coming from above them and they looked up.
"What's that?" Azrael asked.
"Maybe those Pokémon are back." Alice asked.
"Get ready Oshawott." Azrael said.
"Osha." Oshawott said.
"You too Snivy." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy said.
They then saw something come out of the trees headed straight for them.
"Wait a minute. That's not a Pokémon." Azrael said.
"What?" Alice asked.
He then moved back a little bit and caught the falling object. It was egg shaped and had blue and yellow with smaller black stripes as well.
"Is that a Pokémon egg?" Alice asked.
"Seems so. Wonder where it came from." Azrael said.
"I'd say all those attacks shook the trees and made the egg fall out." Alice theorized.
"Makes sense. Oshawott lets head back to the campsite and we'll examine this egg during lunch." Azrael said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said smiling.
"You two are willing to join us if you want to. I brought some extra plates and bowls." Azrael said.
"I'm down with that. How about you Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy." Snivy said smiling.
"We'll be happy to join you." Alice said.
As they walked back to the field, something from the trees was watching them. One of the trees had a small opening and a big red oval eye with a white iris was watching them. They then reached Azrael's stuff which seems to have been completely untouched.
"You said you studied the Pokémon that live in this area. Did you come across anything that tells you why those Pokémon didn't touch your stuff?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, I did. Unfezant aren't known for being thieves, Unfezant is the proud Pokémon and I learned that its proudness comes from its honour code. They know that if they stoop to what they think is their enemy's level or lower they will be outcasted by their own flock." Azrael explained.
"Your knowledge is very impressive Azrael." Alice said.
"Thanks. By the way you said earlier that you were hiding from them. Any particular reason?" Azrael asked as he began to boil the pasta with water provided by Oshawott.
"Well, that's a bit of a story, it all started this morning when I went to Professor Juniper's lab." Alice said.
Flashback Start
"Alright. The Professor's lab should be in this direction." Alice said to herself while looking at her map.
Alice then walked to the Professor's lab and noticed that there were a few construction vehicles around the side of the building. Alice then walked up to the front door and knocked on it and an older woman opened it.
"Hello there, I'm Professor Juniper. Can I help you with anything?" The Professor said.
"My name is Alice. I was told that this was the place to go to get a starter Pokémon. Am I in the right place?" Alice asked.
"Oh, you're a new trainer. Yes, you are in the right place, come on in." The professor said.
Professor Juniper then led Alice to the main lobby. Alice then looked and saw a few construction workers with big grey skinned, four armed muscular Pokémon bringing in a few bricks and other construction materials next to a giant hole in the wall.
"What happened here?" Alice asked.
"The lab was attacked by criminals last night." The professor said sounding worried.
"I hope everyone is okay." Alice said worried.
"Thanks for your concern. Everyone is okay with a few scratches at best. Now let's get you your partner. Bring out the starters." The professor said.
Another scientist brought out a table with everything Alice needed.
"Alright first thing you should know is that you only have two choices instead of three because another new trainer came and took one of them last night and it's going to be a few days before a replacement comes in." The professor explained.
"It's no big deal. I'll take what I can." Alice said.
"That's very mature. Alright the first Pokémon is Tepig. A fire type." The professor said.
"Tepig." Tepig said.
"Awwwwwww you are so cute." Alice said.
"Tepig." Tepig said blushing.
"And here is the other Pokémon. Snivy, a grass type." The professor said.
"Snivy." Snivy said.
"Now you look really cool." Alice said causing Snivy to smirk at them.
"So, which one would you like to take?" Professor Juniper asked.
"I'll take Snivy Professor." Alice said.
"Very well then. Here is Snivy's pokeball and your seven empty pokeballs." Professor Juniper said.
"Thank you." Alice said.
"And here is your pokedex and your badge case. Use the pokedex to examine Pokémon you find in the wild. How do you feel now that your journey is about to start?" Professor Juniper asked.
"Honestly, I'm very nervous. I'm very new to Pokémon in certain ways." Alice admitted.
"Then I recommend you go find another new trainer. He left town this morning down route 1. His name is Azrael Vortex, he's a very smart young man. He built his own pokedex and knows how to swing a sword really well." Professor Juniper suggested.
"Wait are you suggesting I go find a random stranger and ask if I could travel with him. That seems a little creepy not to mention I have no idea if I can trust him." Alice said.
"You have nothing to worry about. You can trust him, he saved my life when those criminals attacked even when it wouldn't have affected him at all. If I had died nothing would have changed for him, he still would have gotten his partner pokemon and would still be on the journey he's still on now, but he still saved my life and the lives of the rest of my team." Professor Juniper said with a grateful smile.
"Wow. Okay I'll go find him. Is there anything else I should know about him?" Alice asked.
"Yeah. He is the one who picked the water starter Oshawott yesterday." Professor Juniper said.
"Alright. Thank you, professor, I'll head to Route 1 to find him. Let's go Snivy." Alice said as she returned Snivy to her pokeball.
"Before you go Alice there is something you should know about route 1." Professor Juniper said.
"Don't worry about it professor. I have a guidebook that should tell me everything I need to know." Alice said as she got the said book out of her pocket after she walked to the door.
Professor Juniper then saw the cover of the book and her eyes widened.
"Wait Alice….." Professor Juniper said.
"See ya professor, thank you for all your help." Alice said as she walked out the door.
Flashback Pause
"Let me guess you found out what Professor Juniper was trying to say the hard way?" Azrael asked as he gave Oshawott and Snivy their food bowls and then gave Alice and himself their bowls of pasta.
"That brings the story to just before I found you. Right after I got lost." Alice said embarrassed.
Flashback Resume
Alice then found herself lost on route 1 looking for Azrael.
"Damn I wish this guidebook came with a map. Come out Snivy." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy said.
"Alright Snivy we need to find this Azrael guy. Professor Juniper said he chose Oshawott, so can you go look from the top of that tree?" Alice asked.
Snivy then nodded and used her vines to grab onto the tallest branch and pull herself up.
"Do you see anyone Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said shaking her head while climbing down the tree.
"Maybe we need to expand our vision. I know let's catch a flying-type Pokémon." Alice suggested.
"Snivy." Snivy said while smiling and nodding.
Alice and Snivy then looked around for a new Pokémon to help them. After a while they came across a flock of Unfezant landing on the ground to pick up some sticks.
"There's some right there. Let's go pokeball." Alice said as she threw an unused pokeball.
The Unfezant heard the ball coming and simply raised her wing to block the ball, which resulted in the ball being launched into Snivy's face which then ricocheted into Alice's face before she caught the ball again. The Unfezant then lowered her wing to show a seriously angry face that scared the crap out of Alice and Snivy. Then all the other Unfezant then looked at them with equally angry faces.
"UNFEEEEEEEEZ." Unfezant said as she pointed towards Alice and Snivy.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH." Alice screamed.
Alice and Snivy then ran as fast as they could through the trees, but they couldn't lose them. They were constantly dodging blue cross attacks left and right.
"Look Snivy, there's an open field up ahead, maybe we can find Azrael and he can help us." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy said as she nodded her head.
They both then ran at full speed to the clearing, but then stopped really quick because it wasn't a clearing, it was the edge of a big hill. They then turned around to see the Unfezant charging right at them. The ground under Alice's right foot broke and she then began to roll down the hill.
"SNIVY." Snivy said as she jumped right into Alice's arms.
They then landed on a ledge halfway down the hill and saw a small cave on the side of the hill.
"Are you alright Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy Sni." Snivy said with a small smile.
"Quickly let's hide in there." Alice said.
They hid inside the cave and then heard the Unfezant heading in their direction. They then saw a small hollow cave in the side of the hill and decided to hide in it. They looked out and saw the Unfezant looking around for them and after a few seconds turned around and flew back to their nesting grounds.
"Few. It looks like we lost them. Let's keep moving Snivy." Alice said.
"Sni vy vy vy vy." Snivy said panting.
"Alright. Return and rest for now." Alice said as pointined Snivy's pokeball at her.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said while shaking her head.
"What is it Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy Snivy Snivy Snivy Snivy." Snivy explained.
"You want to protect me, but you just met me." Alice said.
"Snivy Snivy Snivy Snivy Snivy Snivy." Snivy explained.
"You thought you would'nt be picked until I came along and that confident expression was an act. So, you want to protect me as thanks. That's so sweet of you, but I think you should rest save your strength for when I really need you." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy agreed and Alice returned her to her pokeball.
Alice then exited the cave and slowly began to make her way down the hill when she reached the bottom of the hill, she rubbed off the dirt from her clothes.
"I guess I'll have to wash my hair tonight." Alice said.
Alice then tripped a rock and slammed her face into a tree.
"OWWWWWW." Alice screamed.
"UNNFEEEEEEEEEZ." A familiar voice said.
Alice then turned around to see the Unfezant from before heading straight for her.
"Oh, not again." Alice said as she started running again.
Alice then ran through the forest again avoiding attacks before she managed to hide in a bush before crawling behind the tree in front of the bush. The Unfezant then once again looked around for Alice before heading back.
"Thank Arceus they left. Now let's get back to finding Azrael." Alice said to herself.
Alice then got up and started walking around again and after a few minutes she heard the trees rustling. Fearing that the Unfezant have returned she hid between another tree and bush. Then a sudden stream of water struck the tree behind her, it didn't damage the tree just managed to splash her greatly cleaning her hair but making her mad and jumping out of the bush.
"Hey." Alice said.
Flashback End
"Seems like you've had quite the afternoon." Azrael said chuckling.
"That's an understatement. If I have to dodge another one of those blue cross attacks, I'll lose my mind. What were those attack anyway." Alice said feeling defeated.
"If I had to guess I'd say those were Air Cutters." Azrael said.
"I don't get it my guidebook says that Route 1 is the first route new trainers go on first and that the pokemon are all low level and perfect for new trainers to catch. So why are there fully evolved pokemon here?" Alice said.
"Can I see that booklet please?" Azrael said.
"Sure." Alice said.
Alice then gave Azrael the guidebook and had a look at it and after looking through a few pages he began chuckling.
"What is so funny?" Alice said unamused.
"Oh nothing." Azrael said still chuckling.
Azrael then turned away from Alice to continue reading and began laughing really hard. After a few more seconds of laughter he handed the guidebook back to Alice still laughing.
"What so funny? Tell me!" Alice said which made Azrael laugh harder.
"Look at the back." Azrael said while giggling.
"Ok." Alice said.
Alice looked at back and her eyes bulged out as she looked and the bottom. AT THE DATE OF ISSUE.
"THIS BOOK IS OVER TEN YEARS OLD." Alice shouted surprised.
"Yeah, you got scammed really bad." Azrael said while laughing.
The egg that they found had been placed with their bags and Oshawott and Snivy were looking at it.
"Snivy sni?" Snivy asked pointing at the egg.
"Osha Oshawott." Oshawott said while shaking his head and bringing his hands up.
"Snivy sni snivy snivy snivy." Snivy said as she pointed at the eggs three colours.
"Osha Osha Oshawott." Oshawott said as he pointed to a thought bubble with a children's drawing on it. In Oshawott's thought bubble is the egg glowing and transforming into a Riolu.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said shaking her head.
"Oshawott?" Oshawott asked.
"Snivy Snivy. Snivy Snivy Snivy?" Snivy asked while pointing on the yellow stripes on the egg and then pointing at Riolu in multiple places.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said as the thought bubble went in reverse like a video and the egg hatched again and this time it hatched into a Chinchou.
"Oshawott Oshawott Osha Osha Oshawott." Oshawott said while also shaking his head. Oshawott then pointed to the three colours on the egg and understood why Snivy had guessed Chinchou but then pointed out that the only part of Chinchou that is black is the plus irises in its eyes but pointed out the black on the egg were stripes so Chinchou was ruled out.
As Oshawott and Snivy continued their discussion about what the egg might become might be, Alice had a question that Azrael found interesting.
"Wait! You said the Unfezant you tried to catch unleashed its entire flock on you and Snivy correct?" Azrael asked.
"Yeah, we got lucky that we got out of there with all our limbs intact." Alice said still feeling relieved.
"That's what confuses me. Unfezant don't usually use unfair tactics in battle. Its part of their honour code. It just doesn't make sense that they would attack you like that. Not to mention the Unfezant that attacked us seemed like they were trying to kill us. Let me see if the pokedex has any info that can help us." Azrael said.
Azrael then activated his pokedex and looked through the info on Unfezant and what he found made his eyes widen.
"What information did you find?" Alice asked as Oshawott and Snivy walked up to them looking concerned.
"It says here that the Unfezant and its line only break their honour code is when their leader feels like the flock in great danger and ….. uh oh." Azrael said slightly scared.
"What's wrong?" Alice said getting nervous.
"It says that when they get like this and their target gets away it will gather all its allies and will not stop until it feels that the threat to its family is eliminated." Azrael said slightly scaring everyone.
"Wait, so that means…" Alice said.
"Those Unfezant didn't give up. They went to get all their friends for backup they will return and hit us with everything they have." Azrael said growing even more worried.
"What are we going to do? We're both just a pair of newbies in the art of Pokémon battles. I know you did a lot of research, but I doubt you learned how to defeat an entire flock of Pokémon." Alice said.
"We are going to help them." Azrael said.
"What?" Alice asked.
"The pokedex said that the Unfezant are in danger. Remember it's the reason that they are coming for us. If we help them, they might leave us alone." Azrael explained.
"Why would we help the very Pokémon that just tried to kill us?" Alice asked.
"Because if there is any chance those Pokémon attacked us because they thought we were with the ones that threaten them, I can't just leave them when they need my help." Azrael said.
"Very well, but how are we supposed to find them? You said they build their nests in trees and we're surrounded by them." Alice said.
"We don't need to." Azrael said.
"UUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNFFFFFFFFFFFFFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ." Something shouted.
"They'll come to us." Azrael said.
They all then looked up to the top of the tree at the other end of the field and saw another Unfezant with a pink mask on and this one was bigger than all the others.
"I'm guessing that is the flock's leader." Alice said.
"I think your right." Azrael said.
"FEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTT." The Leader Unfezant shouted.
The trees all around them then began to rustle and tens perhaps dozens of Pidove, Tranquill and Unfezant appeared and landed on the trees and managed to surround them completely.
"What are those?" Alice asked as she pointed her Pokedex at one of the smallest of the new birds.
"Pidove the Tiny Pidgeon Pokémon. A Normal and Flying Type. This Pokémon is known for being extremely friendly, which is why it is very popular among children, but its poor memory is why some trainers aren't interested in them." Alice's pokedex said.
Alice then pointed her pokedex at one of the other new birds.
"Tranquill the Wild Pigeon Pokémon. A normal and Flying type and the evolved form of Pidove. This Pokémon doesn't know the meaning of the word distance. There is a legend that a Tranquill got separated from its trainer and flew to the other side of the planet where they were eventually reunited." Alice's pokedex said.
"What do you think we should do? Do we fight?" Alice asked as she put, her pokedex away.
"Not unless they attack first. Let's try talking first." Azrael said.
Azrael then walked up to the tree and the Leader Unfezant flew down and landed on the ground and looked down on Azrael.
"Unfezant, we don't know why you guys are so angry, but whoever or whatever aggravated you and your flock are not with us. We have done nothing to deserve this attack." Azrael explained.
Unfezant just squinted his eyes in anger and back handed Azrael with his wing, knocking Azrael back towards the others.
"Are you okay Azrael." Alice asked.
"Yeah. I've taken stronger hits before." Azrael said.
"Fezz." The Leader Unfezant said while pointing to a pair of Pidove.
The pair of Pidove then flew down to the other side of the field.
"Is the leader giving us a chance to earn our freedom?" Alice asked.
"Doubtful. I believe that he doesn't think we are worthy of battling his stronger lackeys, either way we need to fight. Are you ready Oshawott?" Azrael asked.
"Osha." Oshawott said while nodding.
"We'll help too. Let's go Snivy." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy said also while nodding.
Oshawott and Snivy then ran in front of their trainers and their gazes met with their opponents. After a few seconds of staring the Pidove flew into the sky and the one on the left fired an Air Cutter at Snivy and the one on the right and single blue line at Oshawott.
"That's Air Slash. Oshawott block it with Razor Shell." Azrael said.
"Snivy jump and dodge that Air Cutter." Alice said.
Oshawott picked up his scalchop and ignited his blade and slashed the Air Cutter in the middle causing both halves to fly past each side of him. While Snivy jumped in air and over the incoming attack and did a back flip before landing on her feet.
"He's able to bring out his Razor Shell a little faster now. Good to see that he's improving. Time to strike back, Oshawott use Water Gun rapid fire." Azrael said.
"OshaWOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT." Oshawott shouted as he fired his Water Guns.
The Water Gun was just as powerful as before as it was during training, but the Pidove was flying around too fast and kept dodging all of his attacks.
"Oshawott try to watch his movements and anticipate where to attack next." Azrael asked.
Oshawott then watched his opponent's movements closely and noticed a pattern, he then waited and then attacked.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT." Oshawott shouted as his attacked hit a bullseye, knocking his opponent out of the sky.
The Pidove then landed on the ground with swirls in its eyes.
"Osha?" Oshawott said surprised by his easy victory.
"One hit? I expected more." Azrael said.
"Snivy grab Pidove with Vine Whip." Alice said.
Snivy then did just that, both vines wrapped around the Pidove's entire body other than its wings which allowed in to stay in the air.
"Now slam it into the ground." Alice said.
"Sniiiiiiiiiiivy." Snivy said as she slammed the Pidove into the ground and when the dust settled the Pidove also had swirls in its eyes.
"Huh? I guess they must have been newbies as well." Alice said.
"UNFEZ." The Leader Unfezant said.
Then two other female Unfezant then flew down a picked up the two Pidove and flew back to their nests.
"FEZANT." Unfezant ordered.
A single Tranquill then flew down and took the Pidove's place.
"Two on one?" Azrael asked Alice.
"Yep." Alice said.
"Oshawott, Water Gun." Azrael said.
"Snivy, Razor Leaf." Alice said.
Oshawott then unleashed his attack, but the Tranquill just blocked it with the back of its wing, then jumped in the air and used Gust to blow away Snivy and her Razor Leaf back towards Oshawott.
"Oshawott! Are you okay?" Azrael asked.
"Come on Snivy get up." Alice said.
Oshawott and Snivy heard their trainer's voices and got back up but were clearly hurt from those last attacks.
"I guess our new opponent is stronger than we thought." Alice said.
"It's a lot smarter too. It just used his own attack and yours to deal two super effective blows to our Pokémon. We're gonna need to work together to take him down, especially since it is more powerful since it's an evolved Pokémon. Let's try this, Oshawott Ice Beam." Azrael said.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOT." Oshawott shouted.
Oshawott then launched his attack and it was moving quickly, but Tranquill began to glow white and flew to the right dodging it at the last second with ease, reappearing behind them all and the Ice Beam ended up hitting a tree instead encasing it in ice, but not before all the Pokémon flew off of it. When the attack finished the Tranquil began snickering at them.
"It's mocking us." Azrael said angry.
"How are we supposed to hit something that fast?" Alice asked said.
"I'm working on it." Azrael said.
"TRAAAAAAAAAAAAANQUILL." Tranquill said as it began to glow white again and slammed into Oshawott, sending him back a few feet.
"That was Aerial Ace." Azrael said.
The Tranquill then turned around to face Snivy mid-air and with another Gust attack blew her away into a tree. The Tranquill then used Aerial Ace again to get back in front of them.
"Grrrrrrr. Oh. Azrael, I have an idea." Alice said.
"What do you have in mind?" Azrael asked.
"A move combo." Alice asked.
"Are you suggesting that we combine our moves to take him down?" Azrael asked.
"That's right, my Razor Leaf and your Ice beam. Snivy use Razor Leaf again." Alice said smiling.
"I see where you are going with this. Oshawott use Ice Beam to freeze the leaves." Azrael said.
Oshawott then fired his Ice Beam again after Snivy launched her Razor Leaf and the Ice Beam froze the leaves mid-air encasing each leaf in ice as they headed toward their target. The Tranquill then glowed white again and it expected to dodge the attack with ease but suddenly the frozen leaves began to pick up in speed, surprising the Tranquill as the attack actually managed to hit it causing it to fall a few feet closer to the ground.
"It worked." Alice said.
"We finally got a hit in." Azrael said.
Then the Tranquill shook its head and started smiling again.
"No way. That attack didn't even faze him?" Alice asked.
"I didn't expect it to do much, but I was expecting at least something." Azrael said equally surprised.
"Tranquill, Tranquill Tranquill Tranquill?" Tranquil said to Unfezant, to which Unfezant nodded yes. The Tranquill then looked back at them with a big grin and then began to glow white yet again.
"I have a plan Oshawott. Are you ready Oshawott?" Azrael said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said.
The Tranquill finished charging up and headed straight for Oshawott.
"Wait for it Oshawott. Wait. Wait. WATER GUN NOW." Azrael said.
Oshawott the shot his Water Gun but the Tranquill still managed to dodge the attack and began to spin around Azrael, Alice and their respectable Pokémon.
"The attack was a fake out?" Azrael asked.
"Why is it spinning around us?" Alice asked.
"Something tells me we're about to find out. Huh?" Azrael asked himself as he saw a bunch of other Tranquill and Unfezant landing on all their bags.
The Tranquill then began to speed up more and more and the leaves on the ground and from the nearby trees began to follow the wind behind him.
"NO WAY. It's creating a small tornado." Azrael said surprised beyond belief.
"What?" Alice said.
The winds following Tranquill's path had then obtained so much speed that the Tranquil was able to stop spinning and return to his original position in the air.
"What do we do now Azrael?" Alice asked.
"I don't know. My plan was to knock Tranquill down with Water Gun and then freeze it to the ground with Ice Beam trapping it. But now it has us trapped. I don't know what to do." Azrael said.
"Well, there's no point in just standing around. Snivy use Vine Whip." Alice said.
"Sniiiiii vy vy." Snivy said as she released her vines to whip her opponent. Only for her two vines to be dragged into the tornado, dragging her into the tornado as well.
"OH NO, Snivy" Alice screamed.
Snivy continued to spin in the tornado hitting all sorts of leaves, branches and rocks causing serious damage on the process. Eventually Snivy began spinning down the tornado and Alice managed to catch her, only to find her with swirls in her eyes.
"Sorry guys, but I don't want to put Snivy in any more danger." Alice said.
"It's for the best. Just hang back Alice, we'll take it from here." Azrael said.
"Do you have a plan to deal with the tornado?" Alice asked.
"I'm still working on it. Oshawott used Ice beam." Azrael said.
Oshawott once again fired his Ice Beam and once again Tranquil managed to dodge it with even more ease by moving into the tornado itself dodging the debris with ease and managing to land a few Air Cutters as well, harming Oshawott greatly.
"The tornado seems to be making him even faster. If only I could cut off his speed and trap him." Azrael said.
He saw some of the frozen leaves move faster in the tornado than all the other debris.
"Wait a minute, maybe I can do more than that. That's it. Oshawott use Ice Beam in all directions." Azrael said.
"Osha wott wott wott." Oshawott said as he shot multiple Ice Beams in different directions which confused the Tranquill to no end. After about 10 Ice Beams he stopped.
"Alright Oshawott this is it. Water Gun full power." Azrael said.
"Oshawoooooooooooooott." Oshawott said as he shot his most powerful Water Gun yet.
"Wait you know that Tranquill will just dodge it again." Alice said.
The Tranquill did just as Alice predicted, it flew into the tornado again dodging the Water Gun with ease. The Tranquill grinned while it was watching Oshawott struggle to find it with ease, it then began to launch another Air Cutter with the intention of ending this fight, but just before it could unleash its final attack it felt something small, sharp and cold hit it in the back of the head. It turned around to see a bunch of frozen leaves moving way faster than the ones that hit it earlier. It tried to dodge them, but it was just too slow and it got hit by every other frozen leaf that followed.
"Wait a minute that was your plan?" Alice asked.
"It's not over yet. Keep watching." Azrael said grinning.
As the Tranquill was beginning to recover from the multitude of attacks to its head while still riding the tornado, it felt another blow hit it right in the stomach. It looked down only to find a branch hit it under its beak knocking its head back up, it looked back again to see a whole barrage of leaves, frozen leaves, branches and rocks coming right at it. It tried to fly away but it was still to disoriented to move fast enough and got hit all over the back of its body knocking him out of the tornado and into the ground. Moments later the tornado dissipated around them.
"That worked out better than I had expected." Azrael said.
"Well done, Azrael. But what exactly was your plan?" Alice asked.
"I used our combo from earlier and took it a step further." Azrael said.
"How so?" Alice asked.
"I noticed that since it was faster than everything we threw at it and had us in a trap that was based on speed I decided to turn its own trap against it." Azrael said.
"Oh, I get it. You knew that the Tranquill was faster than the debris in the tornado and that the frozen leaves moving faster in the air from our combo earlier. So, you used the tornado to make the frozen leaves faster than the Tranquill. That was genius Azrael." Alice said.
"Thanks Ali…. WHAT?" Azrael asked.
"What is it Azra…. Oh you've got to be kidding me." Alice said as they saw the Tranquil get back up again with only a few minor scratches.
"I thought for sure that would knock it out." Azrael said really angry.
The Tranquill then flew back into the air ready for another round.
"Can you keep going Oshawott?" Azrael asked.
"Osha…..wott." Oshawott said as he was trying to get back on to his feet.
"Damn it. We can't win. It's just too powerful for us." Azrael said.
"UNFEZANT." Unfezant said.
Then five other Tranquill then flew from the trees and stopped in front of them in the air.
"What are they doing?" Alice asked growing concerned.
"We lost the battle. My guess is that their trying to finish us." Azrael said.
The Unfezant then began to fire Air Cutter after Air Cutter at them, but luckily Azrael drew his sword out and managed to block them all, but not without being knocked back a few feet.
"Azrael are you okay?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. But I can't keep this up for long." Azrael said panting.
"Cover me. I've got to put Snivy down and I've got something that can help us." Alice said.
"I'm on it. Just don't take too long and take Oshawott with you." Azrael said.
While Alice went to get her thing, Azrael kept up walking behind her backwards while continuing to block Air Cutter after Air Cutter with his sword.
"Have you found that thing yet? I'm running out of steam fast." Azrael said exhausted.
"Not yet, I'm not as organised as I should have been." Alice said feeling worried.
Azrael kept up his deflecting until Unfezant unleashed an Air Cutter than managed to hit the blade before Azrael brought it down and knocked it out of his hand and the blade got lodged into the ground.
"Oh no….AHHHHHHHHHH." Azrael screamed as another Air Cutter hit him right in the chest knocking him down.
"OH NO AZRAEL ARE YOU OKAY?" Alice screamed.
"Damn it that hurt! Wait why am I not bleeding? Oh you've got to be kidding me." Azrael said as he noticed that seven of his eight pokeballs have been shattered into pieces.
The Leader Unfezant then smirked at the distracted Azrael and unleashed its final Air Cutter.
"Crap." Azrael said as he put his arms up to defend himself, but nothing happened. He opened his eyes to see Alice defending against the attacks with a metal bow staff by spinning it around both sides of her body.
"Are you okay Azrael?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, thanks for the save." Azrael said.
"Hey, you helped me earlier, so it's the least I could do. Now stand up I can't block all of their attacks forever." Alice said.
"You got it." Azrael said as he picked up his sword out of the ground.
Azrael and Alice then began to block all the Air Cutters from the Unfezant. They were doing all right and then an explosion then went off behind them knocking them down to the ground. They then looked to see that the Tranquill from earlier had gathered a squad of other Tranquill and unleashed a barrage of Air Slashes at them, but luckily Azrael stepped up and began to block the Air Slashes.
"This is bad if we keep this up, they'll eventually overwhelm us. What are we going to do?" Azrael said.
"SNIVY! OSHAWOTT! Can you help us?" Alice asked.
Oshawott tried to get up but he was still too tired to move and while Snivy managed to wake up she was in too much of a state as Oshawott.
"Grrrr. We're on our own." Alice said frustrated.
The Tranquill and Unfezant just continued to unleash wave after wave of attacks at them and eventually both Azrael and Alice were eventually drained of all their energy and they dropped to their knees. Unfezant then called out to the rest of the flock and the ENTIRE FLOCK flew up in the air and surrounded them.
"That's it I can't go on. I'm exhausted and were completely surrounded and hopelessly outnumbered." Alice said panting.
"So what?" Azrael said with a smile on his face.
"Huh?" Alice asked in confusion.
"Yeah, it may seem hopeless, but as long as I draw breath I will fight to the end. My grandfather trusted me with his prized sword and I don't intend on letting him down, especially on day 1 of my journey. So get up we're not dead yet." Azrael said.
"How can you say that given our situation. Look at the facts we're exhausted, my Snivy is out of commission, your Oshawott is about to pass out and we're surrounded by dozens of pokemon that want to kill us. Do you even have a way out of this." Alice said.
"No I don't and I don't care. If this is how I go out it will be while fighting not giving up. My Grandfather spent the last eight years teaching me how to wield my blade so I could defend myself out here and I don't intend on letting all of his hard work go to waste. Plus these pokemon maybe trying to kill us, but I don't intend to give up on them either. Someone or something has threatened them and I intend to help them. You hear that Unfezant I know your flock is in danger and I plan to help you all." Azrael said with a big friendly smile.
"FEZANT." Unfezant ordered.
The entire flock then began to store power in their wings clearly getting ready for the final blow.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRR" As mysterious voice roared.
The roar was so loud, deep and so fearsome that it scared the entire flock away leaving everyone in confusion.
"What was that?" Alice asked.
"I have no idea, but whatever it was it saved our lives." Azrael said.
"It sure was close though." Alice said beyond tired.
"Yeah a few seconds later and I would have been killed." Azrael said.
"It sounded like it came from the tree we found that egg." Alice said.
"We should check it out later. Right now we need to find where that flock went so we can help them." Azrael said them grabbed his chest in pain.
"Are you okay Azrael." Alice asked worried.
"Yeah, my pokeballs might have been destroyed, but they took half the impact." Azrael said before falling down on one knee.
"But you still took an attack from a fully evolved and took half the impact. Let me have a look at you." Alice said while helping Azrael to his feet.
"Not now that flock is still in danger. We need to go help them." Azrael said.
"Not just yet. Let me take a look at you." Alice said.
Alice then laid Azrael down within their makeshift campsite, took off his shoulder strap and began pressing her hand on different spots of Azrael's chest.
"Um, Alice what are you doing?" Azrael said blushing.
"Checking your injuries. Luckily your skin wasn't broken, but half of your chest was bruised. Hang on I've got something for that." Alice said.
Alice then reached into her bag to search for what she needed.
"You certainly know your way around medication." Azrael complimented as he sat back up.
"Yeah, my mother taught me a lot about medicine for both people and pokemon." Alice said.
"Who is your mother?" Azrael asked.
"Nurse Joy." Alice said.
"Really. Because I was under the impression that all children from all Nurse Joys look the same." Azrael said confused.
"Well, I was adopted. I have no idea who my birth parents are." Alice said.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Sorry for bringing it up." Azrael said with regret.
"Ah don't worry about it. I stopped caring about it a long time ago." Alice said.
"Is Nurse Joy the one who taught you how to use that staff?" Azrael asked.
"No, my father taught me. He wanted me to have a way to defend myself in case my pokemon couldn't. He made it out of melted pieces of his partner Aggron." Alice said.
"My grandfather made my sword from his partner Skarmory. By the way which Nurse Joy are you related to?" Azrael asked.
"The Nurse Joy of Nimbasa City. Here we go, rub this cream on your bruises and it should numb the pain for a while. I'll turn around while you apply it." Alice said as she brought out said cream from her bag.
"Thanks." Azrael said as he took the cream.
Azrael then turned around and took off his shirt and began to apply the cream. At the same time Alice was looking the other way blushing quite a lot at the fact that a guy her age was taking his shirt off behind her. Her curiosity got the better of her and she turned around. She saw that Azrael's back was quite buff for someone of their age. She heard Azrael putting the lid back on and she quickly turned back around before Azrael could see her.
"Thank you for that Alice. I'm starting to feel a little better already." Azrael said.
"No problem. Now we need to find where the flock went." Alice said while taking out some super potions for Oshawott and Snivy.
"That won't be easy they can move their nests with ease to avoid dangers. They might move again after hearing that roar." Azrael said.
"Yeah no kidding. What pokemon do you think could roar like that?" Alice asked while spraying their pokemon.
"No idea. I've seen many pokemon in my life, but never have I heard or seen a pokemon that can roar like that. All we now is that it came from the tree that we found that egg. How is the egg anyway?" Azrael asked.
"The egg is…..GONE!" Alice said as she saw a flashing outline where the egg should have been.
"What? Those birds must have taken it, but why? Based on the colours of the egg it clearly isn't theirs." Azrael explained.
"There. You two should be okay by tomorrow morning. Anyway, I've heard stories of pokemon taking care of eggs that aren't their before." Alice said.
"That's true, but in all the stories I've heard that only happened when the egg was all alone and had no one to take care of it. So I don't think that's it, but it could still be possible." Azrael said.
"We'll have to find out when we find them. If we can find them that is. How are we supposed to find them?" Alice asked.
"Osha Oshawott?" Oshawott asked.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said shaking her head.
BOOOOOOOOM
The four of them turned their heads to see a small explosion in the forest and all kinds of bird pokemon flying away from the smoke.
"Well if there's anything that I learned yesterday, its if you want to find trouble: Follow the explosion." Azrael said.
"Wait what do you mean? What happened yesterday?" Alice asked.
"I'll explain later. Come on Oshawott." Azrael said.
"Osha." Oshawott said nodding.
"Us to Snivy." Alice said as Snivy nodded.
The pokemon then climbed onto their trainers shoulders and they all headed towards the explosion. They followed the smoke to another open field where they saw the Leader Unfezant and the Tranquill in front of the rest of the flock. In front of then were two people Azrael recognized form yesterday.
"Let's watch and see if we can get some answers." Azrael said and Alice nodded.
"Where are they? We had a deal Unfezant." Mason said.
"Who are those guys?" Alice asked.
"That's Mason and Maria, two members of Team Rocket. They attacked Professor Juniper's lab yesterday to steal our two pokemon and they are willing to kill anyone to accomplish their goals." Azrael said angry.
"They attacked the lab? I guess that explains that big whole in the laboratory wall. What's that Mason has in his hand?" Alice said as she noticed some sort of small box in his hand.
"I don't know. I can't quite see it. Keep listening." Azrael said.
"Our deal was that you bring us that brat's Oshawott and his severed head or your home will pay the price." Maria said.
"Oshawott and your head? I guess you weren't kidding about them murderers." Alice said shocked.
"You have failed Unfezant and now you will pay the consequences." Mason said as he brought the box in his hand which was a remote with a green and red button on it.
"I think I know what that remote does, but what do you think each button does?" Alice asked.
"I don't know." Azrael said.
"Fezant." The leader unfezant said worried.
"Begging for a second chance?" Maria asked mockingly.
"Fez Fezant." The Leader Unfezant called.
Another Tranquill flew down with the egg and placed it half way between the leader and Team Rocket.
Mason looked at the egg for a few seconds then pressed the green and another explosion went off.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Trying to buy us off? How pathetic. You failed to live up to your end of the deal Unfezant and you and your flock will pay for it." Mason said and then kicked the egg back to the Tranquill.
"That's it. I can't take this anymore. HEY" Azrael said as they walked out of the bushes and took out his sword.
"So you finally found us." Mason said.
"I guess we can thank you for that. The first explosion made it real easy to find you." Alice said as he took out her bo-staff.
"Aw look at that. In just one day the brat managed to find himself a girlfriend." Maria said.
"Wait what?" Alice said embarrassed.
"I suppose that means we need to give her our team rocket motto." Mason said.
"Please no." Azrael said.
"Listen. Is that the voice of ignorance I hear?" Maria said.
"It speaks to me crystal clear." Mason said.
"Through the skies." Maria said.
"Across the world." Mason said.
"In your mind." They both said.
"Bringing misery at full front pace." Maria said.
"Ripping up peace, putting order in place." Mason said.
"We'll fight for our vision with all our might." Maria said.
"Run from us now or die in this fight." Mason said.
"Maria." Maria said.
"Mason." Mason said.
"Scream all you want, we'll ignore your plight." Maria said.
"Because were Team Rocket." Mason said.
"It's time to fight." They both said.
"So, you two have somehow been blackmailing these pokemon to kill me and steal my partner. You're persistent I'll give you that." Azrael said.
"Since we failed to beat you with the direct approach yesterday, we decided to get some pokemon way stronger than you to take you out instead. And yet they failed. So now they will pay." Mason explained.
"What have you done?" Alice asked.
"We've planted bombs all over the forest." Maria said.
"And I'm guessing that's the trigger in your hand." Alice said.
"Correct. So, I recommend you stay where you are. If you don't, you'll get more of this." Mason said as he pressed the button and set of another explosion nearby.
"No more. Oshawott Ice Beam on the detonator." Azrael said.
"Woooooooooooooott." Oshawott said as he shot his beam.
The Ice Beam then hit Mason's hand and encased the detonator and his hand in ice. Then Azrael looked back at the Leader Unfezant and secretly pointed toward the forest and the Unfezant nodded.
"Ahhhhh. Damn you. Let's go Timburr." Mason said as his partner pokemon came out angry at Oshawott.
"Come on out Vullaby." Maria said as her Vullaby was released into the air.
"What are those pokemon?" Alice said as she pointed her pokedex at them.
"Timburr, the muscular pokeon. A fighting type. It punches down a tree and chops down the trunk to make their signature lumber. It replaces it with bigger lumber as they grow stronger. Vullaby the diapered pokemon. A dark and flying type. Most Vullaby are born with small wings too small to let this pokemon fly. The strong the parents are the higher the chance of this pokemon being born with bones big enough for flying." Alice's pokedex said.
"Oshawott, do you think you have enough for one more round?" Azrael asked.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said with a smile but still panting.
"What about you Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy." Snivy said while also smiling and panting.
"We'll have to make this quick. Oshawott and Snivy are still tired from earlier." Azrael said.
"That's the Snivy from yesterday. Lucky us two for one." Maria said.
"Oshawott use Razor Shell on Timburr back to back." Azrael said.
"Timburr, counter with Power Up Punch back to back." Mason said.
Oshawott and Timburr then charged at each other and unleahed their attacks rapid fire, leaving sparks everywhere. After their attacks ended and they backed away from each other Timburr was surrounded by a rising red energy.
"Damn, I forgot about that." Azrael said.
"That's right. The more we use Power Up Punch the stronger we get." Mason said while smashing his frozen hand against a nearby tree.
"Stop him with Water Gun." Azrael said.
"Power on through with Strength." Mason said.
Oshawott attacked and just before the attack landed Timburr began glowing red and blocked the attack with his right hand and continued to walk forward through the attack.
"Snivy use Razor Leaf." Alice said.
"Vullaby blow it back with Gust." Maria said.
Snivy launched her leaves at Vullaby and Vullaby blew the leaves right back at Snivy.
"Nice try, Snivy block the Razor Leaf with another Razor Leaf." Alice said grinning.
Snivy then unleashed another Razor Leaf and all the leaves knocked each other out of the air causing them to fall straight down.
"You'll need to be more creative than that." Alice said.
"Grrrrrr." Maria grunted.
Timburr despite having some trouble was still powering through Oshawott's Water Gun.
"How is he doing that? Oshawott more power." Azrael said.
Oshawott then added more power to his Water Gun and the attack got a little bigger and the Timburr was blown back a few feet, but he managed to find his footing and continued to push through the attack. Eventually Timburr managed to power through the attack reaching Oshawott and grabbing his face with his right hand and then slammed his left fist into Oshawott's chest sending Oshawott flying back towards Azrael at high speed. Azrael managed to catch Oshawott, but the impact sent Oshawott and Azrael back into a nearby tree.
"Azrael! Are you okay?" Alice asked.
"Yeah. Where did Timburr get all that power? It's so much higher than it was yesterday." Azrael wondered.
"Did you think Timburr only got one power up from those punches." Mason said with a smirk.
"Wait? Punches?" Azrael said.
Azrael recalled Oshawott and Timburr's clash and recalled Timburr changing hands after each of his attacks.
"That's right. Timburr got a power boost for every punch. So his power is probably up ten fold right know." Mason said.
"No way. I didn't even know pokemon could power up that much in a single battle." Azrael said scared.
"It seems you just realised you can't win, Timburr is just too powerful for you to defeat now. Not to mention your pokemon is still injured from your battle with the flock." Mason said as he got most of the ice of his hand.
"Come on guys hurry up." Azrael whispered to himself.
"Snivy grab Vullaby with Vine Whip." Alice said.
"Sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiivy." Snivy said as she quickly wrapped Vullaby in her vines, but Vullaby's wings were not wrapped up.
"That won't work on us. You might think you trapped Vullaby, but now you can't dodge our attacks." Maria said grinning.
"Uh oh." Alice said.
"Vullaby use Dark Pulse." Maria said.
"Vullabyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy." Vullaby said as she fired a beam of black rings at Snivy which scored a direct hit. Sending her sliding across the ground to Alice's feet. Snivy then struggled to get back up.
"We're not done. Snivy Razor Leaf." Alice said, but Snivy just stood there shaking in fear.
"Snivy what's wrong." Alice asked.
"For your information, Dark Pulse has a chance to make the opponent flinch which prevents them from attacking. Idiot." Maria said chuckling.
"Damn. She's too experienced." Alice said.
"Finally." Mason said as he managed to get his hand and the remote free from the ice.
"We aren't done yet." Azrael said as he and Oshawott got back up to their feet.
"Too late brat." Mason said.
"Don't be so sure." Azrael said he then threw his sword at the remote, but Mason dodged it and the sword got jammed into the tree.
"So your willing to kill as well huh? Talk about hypocritical." Mason said.
"I was aiming for the remote." Azrael said.
"Give up. You know you can't beat us." Mason said.
"Oh don't worry. Everything is going according to plan. Right everyone?" Azrael asked and Alice and their pokemon began grinning.
"Whatever game your playing it won't work. You can't defeat us." Maria said.
Just as Maria finished speaking she and Mason saw something fall onto the ground in front of them. They looked down and saw all of their bombs with all their wires ripped out and their bodies became completely white in fear.
"Oh I know, but they can." Azrael said using his thumb to point behind him.
"FEZAAAAAAAAAAANT/QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL." The Unfezant and Tranquill then flew from all the trees around them into the air.
"ATTACK." Azrael screamed.
The flock's wings then began to glow blue, getting their Air Cutters ready. They attacked at knocked down Timburr and Vullaby instantly leaving them on the floor with swirls in their eyes.
"Not so fast." Maria said as she pulled Azrael's sword out of the tree and charged at him with murderous intent.
"My sword! Hold your fire." Azrael said and then began charging right at Maria.
"Are you crazy Azrael?" Alice said surprised.
Maria raised the sword above her head then brought it down, but then Azrael ducked and slid to his left and delivered a strong left hook right to Maria's face causing her to stumble back and drop the sword.
"Didn't your mother ever tell you to respect your elders?" Maria said.
"Only if they deserve any respect." Azrael said before grunting from pain in his chest, causing him to fall to one knee.
"I've got you now." Mason said as he ran at Azrael with his sword no in his hands.
Mason charged at Azrael, but before he struck Azrael Alice came up and blocked the sword with her bow staff, then pushed the sword above Mason's head before kicking him in the stomach and then the face sending him back next to Maria before her foot even hit the ground.
"So, you actually can fight and that staff isn't just for show." Mason said.
"I'm not just some helpless damsel stereotype. I'll kick your arses for your threat against my friend's life." Maria said angry.
"You can try." Mason said.
Alice and Mason charged at each other and clashed over and over again until Mason tried to stab Alice. Alice stepped to the side and grabbed Mason's wrist, she then smacked the middle of Mason's arm causing him to drop Azrael's sword before Mason moved away while clutching his arm.
"Damn you." Mason said.
"EVERYONE ATTACK NOW!" Alice said grinning.
The flock then began charging their attacks again.
"OSHAWOTT WATER GUN!" Azrael screamed.
"SNIVY RAZOR LEAF!" Alice screamed.
Oshawott shot his Water gun, then Snivy launched her Razor Leaf around the Water Gun and finally the flock unleashed their Air Cutters which combined into one super strong Air Cutter that joined at the front of the Water Gun. The attack hit the ground right in front of them sending them flying.
"I can't believe we failed again." Maria said.
"It just goes to show you, if you want something done right do it yourself." Mason said.
"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN." Maria and Mason said as they flew through the sky leaving a sparkle in the sky.
"Here you go." Alice said after she grabbed Azrael's sword and handed it back to him.
"Thanks. I'm glad that's over." Azrael said as he took his sword back and put it back in the sheath.
"Me too. I'm sorry I couldn't get my staff in time. If I did your pokeballs wouldn't be broken." Alice said apologetically.
"It's not your fault. Just use this as a reason to get yourself more organized." Azrael said optimistically.
"Thanks Azrael. Come on, lets head back to the campsite." Alice said as she helped Azrael to his feet.
They then heard a siren and turned around to see Officer Jenny on her motorcycle. Officer Jenny then got off the motorcycle and brought out her Herdier.
"I am Officer Jenny of Striaton City and you two are under arrest." Officer Jenny said with her Herdier growling next to her.
"What why?" Azrael asked confused.
"Are you two not the ones who caused all those explosions? I could see and hear them all the way from Striaton City." Officer Jenny said.
"No, we didn't it was Team Rocket." Azrael said.
"Nice try kids. Team Rocket was disbanded 15 years ago. You two are coming with me" Officer Jenny said as she brought out some handcuffs.
Just before Officer Jenny reached Azrael and Alice Unfezant landed in front of Officer Jenny surprising her.
"Fezant un un Unfezant Unfezant." Unfezant said.
"What is it doing?" Alice asked.
"I think it is defending us." Azrael said.
"Unfez fez fez Unfezant Unfez fez Unfezant." Unfezant explained.
"Well. It seems I have made a mistake. My apologies." Officer Jenny said embarrassed.
"Wait! You can understand it?" Alice asked surprised.
"Yeah. This Unfezant is a friend of mine. Whenever a crime is committed in his area he comes to me. I've never seen him defend anyone like that before, but if he says you're innocent then I trust him." Officer Jenny said.
"Thank you Unfezant." Alice said.
"Fezant Fezant Unfezant." Unfezant said sadly.
"Let me guess he's apologizing." Azrael said.
"Yes, he is." Officer Jenny said.
"Don't worry about it Unfezant. You just did what you thought was right for your flock." Azrael said.
"Uh can someone please tell me what this is all about." Officer Jenny said confused as she walked up next to Unfezant.
Azrael and Alice then proceeded to explain what had happened between them and the flock.
"So, Team Rocket really is back. I'll have to warn the Officer Jennys around the Unova region about this. If you're heading for Accumula Town I can give you two a ride." Officer Jenny said.
"We'll gladly take you up on that. We'll just have to stop at our campsite to get our stuff." Azrael said.
"No problem. Let's go." Officer Jenny said.
"Fezant." Unfezant said before they left.
"What is it Unfezant?" Azrael said.
"Fezant." Unfezant called.
Azrael and Alice turned around and saw the same Tranquill from their battle land in front of them.
"Hey, you're the Tranquill we fought earlier." Alice said.
"Quill Quill Tranquill." Tranquill said regretfully.
"You don't have to apologize Tranquill. We all understand why you did what you did." Alice said.
"Oshawott." Oshawott said with a smile.
"Snivy." Snivy said while also smiling.
Tranquill then lowered his head and showed the egg.
"Hey look the egg." Alice said.
Tranquill then turned to the side and lowered his right wing to the ground. Oshawott then ran up the wing, grabbed the egg and brought it back to Azrael.
"Thanks for returning this Tranquill." Azrael said while petting Tranquill.
"That egg isn't from the Unfezant line." Officer Jenny said.
"How do you know?" Azrael asked.
"I've seen many eggs in my years, but I've never seen one like that. I've got something you'll need." Officer Jenny said.
Officer Jenny then walked back to her motorcycle and lifted the back seat and brought out an egg incubator.
"Why do you just happened to have an incubator?" Azrael asked.
"Whenever criminals (mainly poachers and hunters) Come into these lands they usually go after the eggs. After we catch them we have Nurse Joy look at the eggs and we use incubators to transport them. I always have one on me just in case." Officer jenny explained.
"Lucky us." Alice said.
"Wait. What do you mean Nurse Joy looks at them? Accumula Town doesn't have a pokemon centre." Azrael said.
"I would tell you, but I have to get back to Accumula Town. I need to get the rest of my squad to search the area for anything those Team Rocket punks might have left behind. You'll just have to ask Nurse Joy when you get there. Let's head back to your campsite and then head for Accumula Town, but I only have enough room for one other people to ride with me, so we are going to have to squeeze up together. You can put the incubator under the seat until we get there." Officer Jenny said.
"Before we head to Accumula Town we need to check something." Azrael said.
"What is it?" Officer Jenny asked.
The three of them then found themselves in front of the tree that Azrael and Alice found the egg.
"So, this is the tree?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Yeah now we need to find out what caused that roar." Azrael said.
"Snivy, use your vines to climb the tree." Alice said.
"Snivy." Snivy said while nodding.
Snivy then wrapped her vines around the nearest branch and pulled herself up. Then continued upward jumping from branch to branch until she reached the top. Snivy then poked her head through the leaves but didn't find anything at all.
"Did you find anything Snivy?" Alice asked as she called out to her.
"Snivy Snivy." Snivy said shaking her head.
"Nothing huh. Man I guess we're never gonna find out what made that roar." Azrael said disappointed.
"If I had to guess I'd say it was the guardian of Route 1." Officer Jenny said.
"Guardian of Route 1?" Azrael asked.
"Yeah. Have you heard about the old small shopping area that used to be on Route 1?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Yeah, I think there used to a hot sand bathhouse there." Alice said.
"I'm pretty sure your thinking of the old spa bathhouse." Azrael said.
"Well about a decade ago the shopping area was mysteriously destroyed." Officer Jenny said.
"What? How?" Azrael asked shocked.
"Nobody knows exactly. One night the area was covered with explosions that came out of nowhere. No one was expecting it, many people were injured in the end and two people were killed. The father and son owners of the hot spring bathhouse. The only sighting that we got was from a young boy who said that it was a black moon that attacked the place." Officer Jenny said.
"Wait. He said a black moon attacked the area? That makes no sense. There no such thing as a black moon." Alice said.
"Okay that kid clearly saw two pokemon fighting each other and saw confused by the darkness of the night, but what could he have seen. There are lots of black pokemon in the world and I can't think of a pokemon that someone could confuse for the moon." Azrael said.
"I know, that part still confuses me to this day. Every now and again I look over the case but I never find anything. The other thing that the boy said is that he saw a blur that was blacker than the night sky. The blur was even bigger than the moon and took to the sky to fight it. He said that they clashed over and over again while the moon glowed light blue while the blur was surrounded by a white light. In the end the blur drove the moon away and the blur saved the remaining people. He called it a guardian and it became known as the guardian of Route 1." Officer Jenny said.
"Wait this makes no sense. A black moon was flying through the sky attacked a small shopping area for no reason, an even blacker blur came out of nowhere, glowed white and drove the black moon away? I'm so confused." Alice said sweating bullets.
"I know, I get a headache every time I think about it." Officer Jenny said.
"So, this thing is just a legend? If it's just a legend, why do you believe that is what saved us?" Azrael asked.
"Because I've seen it myself in the same clearing we stand in now." Officer Jenny said.
"Really?" Azrael asked.
"Yeah. It was during my earliest years of duty. I was tracking two robbers who had robbed a family living in Accumula Town." Officer Jenny explained.
Flashback Start
"This is Officer Jenny I'm currently in pursuit of two robbers in Route 1." Officer Jenny said.
She drove all around Route 1 looking for the criminals and eventually finding two men in a clearing going through a purse and multiple wallets while laughing.
"Found you." Officer Jenny said.
"Oh look it's the local police woman. Whatever shall we do." The first criminals mocked.
"You two are under arrest for robbery. Go Herdier." Officer jenny said as she released her Herdier.
"You think that intimidates us. Go Hitmonchan." The first criminal said.
"Go Blitzle." The second criminal said.
After the battle was over Officer Jenny found herself knocked down to the ground beaten and brusied and Herdier was badly hurt and paralyzed completely, even the wheels on her motorcycle was destroyed.
"Damn it, this is bad." Officer Jenny said.
"And you call yourself a police woman, what a joke. Pawniyard finish her with Metal Claw." The first criminal said.
"Blitzel use Flame Charge." The second criminal said.
The two criminal's pokemon then charged at Officer Jenny with the clear intention of finishing her, but then…
"OOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR." A mysterious voice roared.
After the roar died down a big black covered in a white glow came out of nowhere and slammed into both the criminals and their pokemon, knocking them out instantly and leaving Officer Jenny dumbfounded.
"What was that?" Officer Jenny said surprised.
Flashback End
"After the criminals were locked away, I came back here to see if I could find out what had saved me that day, but still to this day I haven't found any pokemon that comes close to matching the black blur. There have multiple reports of trainers encountering this blur before. They said that they saw the blur taking down large pokemon that were abusing smaller pokemon." Officer Jenny said.
"So, this mysterious pokemon has been saving the lives of people and small pokemon for years and has somehow never been seen clearly by human eyes?" Alice asked.
"Correct. In every sighting they said that they never managed to identify what pokeomn it is." Officer Jenny said.
"Whatever it is it saved our lives, so I'll be grateful to it for life." Azrael said.
"Same here." Alice agreed.
"Well, you two have had quite an eventful day, you guys must be exhausted. Come on I'll take you to Accumula Town so you guys can rest." Officer Jenny said.
Officer Jenny drove them and dropped them off on a hill where they could see Accumula Town engulfed by the sunset.
"Thanks for everything Officer Jenny." Alice said.
"No problem kids, just doing my job. Stay safe okay and take good care of that egg." Officer Jenny said.
"I'll do my best. That's a promise." Azrael said with a smile.
"Until we meet again." Office Jenny said while riding off.
"There it is Accumula Town." Azrael said.
"That was quite the first day for me. There is one thing though." Alice said.
"What is it?" Azrael asked.
"I said I found you so I could journey with you, but I never asked if it was okay with you. So I'll ask can I travel around Unova with you?" Alice asked.
"Of course. You're our friend and you saved my life multiple times today. We would be honoured if you join us. Right Oshawott?" Azrael asked.
"Oshawott." Oshawott agreed.
"Thank you. You saved our lives today quite a few times as well. We too are grateful. Aren't we Snivy?" Alice asked.
"Snivy." Snivy agreed.
"Then let's go, our next journey awaits us." Azrael said with a smile.
"Yeah." Alice said also with a smile.
"After a crazy day it looks like our new heroes have found new friends in Alice and her Snivy. What adventures await our new heroes? What will hatch out of Azrael's new egg. Find out next time as the journey continues.
