In A World Of My Own – Chapter 7 – First Date/ Past Unlocked

Monday 3rd May 2021 – (Wonderland Kingdom) – 12:00pm – Afternoon

Kurt was snoozing his head off in his room fast asleep while the rest the rest of the kingdom people of Wonderland got ready and went on with their day. Dave however had other plans.

He had closed his hat shop for the day to surprise Kurt with their first ever date. He was busy in the kitchen making picnic foods; sandwiches, little cakes, apples and fresh fruits.

Today had to be perfect. He had to make Kurt happy. Him and the Queen Quinn both agreed that he deserved a little break and time off after all the hard work he had been doing.

Brittany Bunny and Santana Cheshire helped him pick out some fancy clothes beforehand ; going with a purple buttoned down shirt, a nice black pair of trousers, some nice black boots, and a dark blue top hat to pull it all together.

Sebastian Dee and Blaine Dum helped him with picking out where to take Kurt. At first Sebastian suggested the motor bike fields; and to get to Kurt to ride one around the tracks.

Needless to say Dave said no to that. That when Blaine decide on a picnic idea at the top of the toadstool just outside the kingdom walls.

At first Dave was in shock, because it was a good smart idea. And no offence to Blaine, but his last name was dumb for a reason ; he didn't usually have these moments.

But Dave was happy he did this time. Going along with it and making himself ready.

He had now finished off the picnic basket packing all of the food inside it. He just had to wake for Kurt to wake up.

10 minutes later his dreams where answered.

Kurt came running down the stairs dressed but with his hair still a mess and sleep still in his eyes. "Why didn't you wake me?" he asked Dave walking into the kitchen rubbing his eyes.

Dave smiled at him "I thought I let you sleep, yesterday was a tough day on you"

Kurt smiled "Thanks, but what about training?"

Dave hugged him kissing his head "No training toady. You need a break so I figured now might be a good time to have our first date" he said blushing.

Kurt smiled again blushing hard "I would love that. Where are we going?" he asked.

"It's a surprise" Dave smiled.

Kurt giggled "Sounds fun"

With that Dave made Kurt a quick breakfast just before they went, and after he ate it they went on to their date; walking to the Toadstool.

When they got up to the top of it they set up the picnic how they wanted it and sat down to eat.

"They is lovely" Kurt said smiling eating a sandwich "Usually I hate heights but up here, it's a perfect view"

Dave smiled eating a cake "You can see all of Wonderland from here. I like it, it's a quiet spot"

They both smiled again and went on to eat and drink, talking about things like Dave's hat shop, and Kurt's farm. Then Dave decided to be brave and ask about something a little different; Family.

"Umm Kurt?" he said looking at him.

Kurt smiled drinking some juice "Yes?"

"Can I ask you about, your….family?"

Kurt smiled a little sadly back "Sure" he then cleared his throat and carried on "So there is me and my dad, and all the animals. My mum…she died when I was 8, from a car crash."

Dave looked at him sadly "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to-

"I know" Kurt said smiling "It's okay. She is always with me really. The jacket I wear was hers when she was my age, and my dad told me stories about here to. Pictures as well"

Dave smiled "That's lovely. I bet she would be proud of you"

"Thanks" Kurt said getting closer to him to hug him. "What about you?"

Dave hugged back "My mum died to. She was protecting me from the Queen of Hearts (Queen Rachel). And my dad died a couple of years after from old age. I have my mum's umbrella" he explained gigging.

"An Umbrella?" Kurt smiled giggling a little back. "Why a Umbrella?" he asked.

Dave smiled "She always use to take it with her. So if it did rain she could say she was prepared for it. My dad started the family hat business up when I was 7 and told me how to make hats when I was 11."

Kurt smiled "I love your hats"

Dave kissed his head and went on "Queen Quinn helped me after all that. Letting me own and keep my father's shop and helping me through life. And my first hat I Still have in the back room. It's not great but….you can have it as a present when you leave if you want…..something to reamber me by" he says tearing up.

Kurt smiles at his wiping his tears away "Hey I could never forgot you. You will always be my Davey. No matter what or if we are apart. And I would love the hat" with that he kissed him deeply keeping him close.

Dave smiled and blushed kissing him back. He would never forgot Kurt either. Not in a heartbeat.

Little did they know that Queen Rachel was watching them smirking from afar, preparing for battle ahead…
