In A World Of My Own – Chapter 8 – Preparing For Battle

Tuesday 4th May 2021 – (Wonderland Kingdom) – 3pm – Afternoon

Dave Hatter and Kurt had woken up early to get breakfast and start training for most of the day. Kurt knew the battle was coming up soon and they needed to be ready; that he needed to be ready.

It was now 3pm and they had been training for a good three hours. Dave was sweaty and out of breath. Whiled Kurt remained standing tall punching hard against the punching bag with sweat also dripping of him, and heart thumbing loud in his chest.

Dave looked at him smiling; Kurt was so strong and brave. But he needed to have a break; he would tire himself out if he didn't stop soon.

"Kurt, take a break five minutes" Dave said looking at him.

"I'm fine" Kurt said smiling back at him continuing to punch the bag.

Dave sighed "Kurt please you are going to tire yourself out if you are not careful" he said cornered.

"No, I'm not ready yet, I'm not good enough" Kurt pleaded punching the bag harder getting more and more out of breath.

Dave giggled getting up hugging Kurt softly from behind "What are you talking about?, Kurt you are more than ready, and we have been training for hours, you need a break please"

Kurt smiled turning around and hugging him back "Okay I'm sorry. I just….I don't want to let you down"

Dave smiled back at him "You. Are. Ready. And you could never let me down, Kurt you took this on knowing what it could mean for you, knowing how much presser was going to be on you. How is that letting me or anybody else down? I think you are brave and fearless, that not letting me down. That being my hero" he explained blushing.

Kurt smiled kissing him deeply "Thank you. I love you"

Dave smiled blushing even harder "I love you too. Now how about a date, anywhere you like"

Kurt smiled "I really like you to teach me how to make one of your amazing hats"

Dave smiled "Looks like it's a hat making date then"

With that the two linked arms and went to Dave Hatter's hat shop for their date.

Queen Quinn smiled at them as they left, happy with the progress Kurt had made, and even happier that Dave Hatter had finally found love.

MEANWHILE IN THE RED QUEEN'S CASTLE…

Queen Rachel had also been up for hours training herself and her soldiers for battle. She felt ready, and determined not to loss, but she had a funny feeling that he main knight Finn was having mixed feeling about it all.

"Finn, why are you not training?!" she snapped at him

"I….I just needed a break" he tried to explain.

"Breaks are for people who want to loss battles Finn!" she yelled. "I need you ready and on my side. I need my army ready and you are meant to be helping me do that!"

"I am" he said quickly "You know my loyalty only lies with you"

"Well makes sure it does and get back to training!" she added.

With that Finn shock his head and went back to training before he got yelled at again.

Whiled Queen Rachel made her way to her throne room looking out her window at Queen Quinn's kingdom. It so hard to think they use to be friends once upon a time.

She shook her head looking at it with hate and anger. The battle was tomorrow that's all the mattered, was that she got the Sword of Wonderland and took over Wonderland with a throne fist.

Whatever it takes, she was willing to do.

It was her turn to win for onces.

BACK AT DAVE HATTER'S SHOP…..

"And that's how I make them" Dave said smiling.

Kurt smiled trying on his tenth one. "There all so different" he smiled. "I love them all, do you have a favourite"

Dave smiled blushing "I do"

Kurt smiled sitting down next to him taking the hate off his head. "Which one?"

Dave smiled happily at him handing him a box "This one"

Kurt smiled back opening the box to revel a stunning ocean blue hat with a yellow ribbon around it and some purple feathers on the side. "Oh wow" Kurt smiled happily "It's so….I don't even have words"

Dave smiled "It's yours. I was going to give it to you tomorrow when you win the battle, but I love seeing you happy and smile"

Kurt smiled blushing putting the hat on his head "Oh Dave…..I love it"

Dave smiled kissing his check "You going to kick ass tomorrow"

Kurt smiled giggling and kisses his cheek back "No. We are going to kick ass tomorrow"

With that Kurt smiled taking Dave's hand wearing his hat as they walked back to the kingdom.
