Hello, everyone! This is RainbowDashFan1797 back with another fanfic. This is yet another crossover. A crossover with two of my favorite shows; Discovery Family's "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" and AMC's "The Walking Dead". This story takes place in the middle of season 5 of MLP and it's gonna go through the first four seasons of "The Walking Dead" television series. I know that The Walking Dead is ending, but I'm still going to be a fan of it no matter what. But enough about me. Let's get this story started. It's been in my head for a long time. It's about time I worked on it. Let's go! Disclaimer: I DO NOT own "MLP: FIM" or "The Walking Dead". All rights to their respective owners.
Chapter 1: Reading Time at the Castle of Friendship
Celestia's sun rose high in the sky as everypony got ready for the day. In the Castle of Friendship, the alicorn princess of friendship Twilight Sparkle and her assistant Spike the baby dragon were just starting to wake up. Twilight was making breakfast for her and Spike.
"We sure had a good night's sleep. Didn't we Twilight?" The dragon asked.
"We sure did, Spike. And we're gonna have a good breakfast too." Said Twilight.
As soon as breakfast was ready, Twilight made plates and set them on the table. While they were eating, Spike asked a question.
"What are we gonna do today, Twilight?"
Twilight put a hoof on her chin.
"I don't really know. I was thinking about inviting our friends over to the castle for group reading." She said.
Spike's face brightened.
"That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea." Spike said, "I mean think about it. You could catch up on some reading while hanging out with your friends. Wouldn't that be fun?"
"It would be nice. Plus, I got a new Daring Do book. I'm sure Rainbow would like that." Said Twilight.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go tell them."
"Sounds like a plan to me."
Meanwhile, outside, the pegasus known as Rainbow Dash was cloud busting. When the last of the clouds was cleared away, she smiled in triumph.
"Well, that's another hard day's work done." She said, "Now that that's out of the way, I can finally do something else. But what should I do?"
She put a hoof on her chin. Before she could think any further, she heard a familiar voice.
"Hey, Rainbow Dash!" It said.
The pegasus turned and looked down to see Spike.
"Hey, Spike. How's it going?" She asked.
"It's going alright. Thanks for asking. I just wanted to tell you that Twilight has invited you and all of our friends for group reading at the castle." Said Spike.
"Group reading? That sounds awesome! Does she have any new Daring Do books?"
"She has a couple."
"Great! I'll go get Scootaloo and the others right away."
And with that, Rainbow flew off to find her friends and little sister. Spike nodded and started walking back to the castle.
We cut to the train station where Applejack and her little sister Applebloom were waiting for someone. It was Applebloom's cousin Babs Seed. It had been a long time since she came to Ponyville and Applebloom couldn't wait to see her again.
"I'm so excited, Applejack. It's been so long since I saw her. This is the third time actually." She said.
"It sure is, Applebloom. I know you both will get along just fine." Said her sister.
The train stopped and the door opened. Everyone was walking out. Applebloom tried to find her cousin in the crowd.
"Where is she? Is she here already?"
When the crowd cleared, she could see her cousin Babs Seed. She smiled and ran towards her.
"Babs!"
"Cuz!"
The two fillies hugged each other.
"It's good to see you again, Babs." Applebloom said.
"It's good to see you too, Applebloom." Said Babs.
"Did you get your cutie mark yet?"
Babs shook her head.
"Nope. But I will get it eventually. I'm still hoping for the best."
"That's what my friends and I are doing too."
Applejack walked towards them.
"Hey there, Babs. Aren't you glad to see us again?" She asked.
Babs nodded.
"You're darn right I am, cousin Applejack. I wouldn't have it any other way." She said.
"I hope you'll be on your best behavior today."
"Oh, don't worry. I will."
Suddenly, they heard a voice.
"Hey, AJ!" It said.
They turned around to see Rainbow Dash and all of their friends. There was Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo.
"Hey, Rainbow. What's up?" Applejack asked.
"We just wanted to tell you that Twilight invited us over to the castle for group reading. Plus I heard she has a couple of new Daring Do books and I'm eager to read one of them." Said Rainbow.
"Really?"
"Yes, and I just got a new romance novel in the mail today and I'm looking forward to reading it." Rarity said.
Sweetie Belle groans.
"Ugh. You and your romance novels." She muttered.
"It's sounds like super-duper fun! You want to come?" Pinkie asked.
The Apple cousins looked at each other, nodded, and smiled.
"Sure, sounds like a plan to me." Applejack said.
"Yeah. I've brought a new comic with me and I've been wanting to read it." Said Babs.
So it was all settled. They all went off to Twilight's castle. We cut to Twilight's castle where everyone was reading their favorite book. Rainbow and Scootaloo were reading Daring Do books, Babs and Spike were reading comics, Rarity was reading her romance novel, Twilight was reading an Equestria history book, Pinkie was reading a book on party planning, Fluttershy was reading a book about animals, Sweetie Belle was reading a fantasy novel, and Applejack was reading a book on farming. Pretty much, everyone was reading. Applebloom however was not having much luck finding a book to read. She walked to her sister and tapped her shoulder.
"Hey, Applejack."
Applejack turned to her sister.
"Yeah, Applebloom?"
"I can't seem to find a good book to read. It's driving me nuts." She said, glumly.
Rainbow flew down next to her.
"Ya sure you don't wanna read a Daring Do book?" She asked.
Applebloom shook her head.
"Nah. I'm not interested. There has to something." She said.
"Why don't you try looking through the books on the bookcase. You might find something good to read." Said Twilight.
Applebloom sighs.
"I doubt it. But I'll look." She said.
She walked towards a bookcase and began to search for a book. She searched and searched and searched, but she wasn't having any luck. She was about to give up when out of the corner of her eye, she something at the end of the bookcase. She walked towards it. When she got close, she saw it was a black book. Out of curiosity, she took it off the shelf. As she got a better look at it, she saw that there was a hand print on the front of the cover. She looked at it with confused look.
"I've never seen a print like that before." She said to herself.
She opened the book and looked at the first page.
"Do not read aloud? Why not?" She thought.
She then walked away from the bookcase carrying the book. She walked to the center of the library. After a moment of silence, she spoke.
"Hey, everypony?"
Everyone stopped reading and turned to the filly. They put down their books and walked towards her.
"What is it, Applebloom?" Twilight asked.
"It's this book. Have you ever seen it?" Said Applebloom.
Everyone got a good look at the book. They were just as confused as Applebloom was.
"That's a strange book, cuz. Where'd you find it?" Babs asked.
"It was at the very end of the book case. It has some kind of strange print on it." Applebloom replied.
She turned to Twilight.
"Have you ever seen this book?" Applebloom asked.
The alicorn looks it over.
"I don't remember buying this book. I've never seen it before." She said, "I haven't seen this print either."
Curious, Twilight opened the book to the first page where it said "Do not read aloud". This made her more curious. She turned to the second page and saw some writing. Applebloom tapped her shoulder and she turned to her.
"Twilight? What does that writing say? Can I read it?" She asked.
Everyone except Twilight and Applebloom got unsure looks.
"I don't know." Spike said, "Usually when the book says 'Do not read aloud' someone usually reads it aloud. And when they do that, bad stuff happens."
"Oh come on, Spike. For all we know it's probably just a regular old book. And if you ask me, I bet someone put that 'Do not read aloud' thing to try and scare us." Twilight said.
"Well, it's certainly not working." Said Rainbow.
"Yeah. What can a book do?" Said Pinkie.
Twilight gave the book back to Applebloom who opens it to the second page with the strange writing. She began to read.
"You have found a book that was not meant to be read. Now you enter the world of The Walking Dead." She read.
Applebloom looked at everyone. They were waiting for something to happen. But surprisingly enough, nothing happened.
"You might be right, Twilight. Maybe it is just and old book." Fluttershy said.
Twilight nodded.
"Yeah."
Suddenly, the book flew out of Applebloom's hooves. Everyone looked at the book as flew into the air. The book stopped and hovered in midair. All of them were shocked.
"What's it gonna do, Twilight?" Applebloom asked, a little scared.
"I-I don't know." Said Twilight, who was scared as well.
As soon as she said that, the book opened and a giant white light appeared out of nowhere. Then suddenly, the light started pulling Applebloom towards it. She screams in terror.
"HELP!!!" She yelled.
Twilight held on to the filly's hoof trying to pull her back.
"Girls! Help me get Applebloom away from that light!" Yelled Twilight.
The rest of the Mane Six, CMC, Babs, and Spike quickly ran over to their friend. They started holding on to each other so they wouldn't get pulled in as well. They tried to keep the light from sucking Applebloom into it, but it was no use and they all got pulled into the light. After that, the book closed and spun around. And just like that, it vanished into thin air.
