Hey guys! Back with another chapter for Zootropolis. I seriously don't know how many people actually read my A/Ns...

Anyway, enjoy!

I don't own Maid Sama! or any of its characters.

Misaki was dazed. Did this guy just question her job? She was obviously a real cop!

Wait.

She was still wearing her meter maid uniform.

Just great.

Well, now that was sorted out.

And now, she had a criminal to catch.

Sweet.

Running flat out after a thin scrawny guy sure is hard. The guy was fast, and could dart around sharp twists and turns with ease, as if he had been doing this his whole life.

Which was quite possible, in his case.

He ducked around a grandma, and then pushed a huge cart, which went flying in Misaki's direction. She dodged it and ran after the man, hot on his heels.

Except for the scream that came from behind her.

She looked back, and saw the cart hurtling into the path of a middle-aged pretty lady, whose friends were running away, sensing the danger. Misaki ran back in the direction from which she came from, hoping to stop the cart before it crashed into the woman, who had froze on the spot and was just standing there, shaking in fear.

Misaki grabbed onto the handle of the cart; but it was too hard to stop. Figuring that the cart couldn't be stopped from hitting the lady, she jerked the handle, to send it fishtailing into another street. That is, till it hit a wall with a loud crash.

Misaki, who had been holding onto the handle for dear life, crashed into the handle, the hit to her stomach winding her.

Then her arms gave out and she dropped down; hitting the pavement and bruising her hip.

The terrified woman, who had been staring at the spectacle with shock, ran towards Misaki and helped her up.

"Are you okay? Thank you so much for saving me!"

Her voice was peculiarly high-pitched, and she sounded as if she was the one who had her breath knocked out, instead of Misaki.

"I'm fine. Are you sure you're okay, though?"

"Of course I'm fine! But don't you think you need medical attention for your hip? You jarred it pretty badly."

"Yeah, yeah, I'll be okay. Nice hairdo, by the way."

"Oh, thank you!"

"-Shoot, I've lost him!"

Realizing she had lost sight of the scrawny thief, she stood up; covering her hip with a hand, and said goodbye to the woman; and then resumed her wild chase.

Jogging around the corners of a few buildings, she caught sight of the man, who was still holding the bag he stole and was now trying to climb a gate.

Oh no you don't.

Misaki barged open the doors of the ZPD, and pushed the man inside, who had his hands tied behind him.

"I caught him! See!"

"Ayuzawa!"

She looked up, to see a very angry Cedric.

"My office, now."

Uh oh.

"Look, Ayuzawa, you are not a real cop. You don't go chasing random criminals. You're a meter maid."

"But sir, if I could just prove myself worthy of being a real cop-"

"Chief!"

The phone on the table crackled to life, and a squeaky Shintani came on line.

"Um chief, Mr. Hirose is here again. Should I, uh, send him up?"

"NO. Tell him to come another day."

"But, sir-!"

"NO BUTS."

Turning back to Misaki after slamming down the phone, he continued.

"A girl cannot be a cop. You should know that. The next time I find you doing something out of line again, you will be sacked. Dismiss-"

"Chief Cedric! Oh, I'm so relieved!"

Looking up, they saw a tall man with a kind face come in, with a panting Shintani behind him. "I'm...sorry...sir...couldn't...stop...him..."

"Chief Cedric, please, I just want one minute with you..."

"Mr. Hirose, please. I don't really have time-"

But the man steamrollered on.

"Sir, I have a beautiful wife, and two kids. My wife would not go disappearing from us. Not like that, without a word."

"I understand that, Mr. Hirose, but-"

"I'll look for your wife, sir."

The reactions were instantaneous, both polar opposites. Cedric shook his head and sighed, looking at Misaki with warning written clearly on his face.

Mr. Hirose, however, ran forward and grabbed forward and grasped Misaki's hand in his own.

"Thank you, miss, thank you so much! Here, keep this photo, and find Tricia for me. Please."

"I will, sir. Definitely."

"Now, please, Mr. Hirose..."

Cedric ushered the man out, and then turned to face Misaki.

"You're not taking the case."

"What? Why?"

"No questions. You will say that you were mislead, and that you're just a meter maid and can't do anything. You got that?"

But upon opening the door, they were faced with a hopeful Mr. Hirose and the Deputy mayor, Maria.

"Oh, I heard that Misaki's taking the case! Congratulations, Misaki! I hope you find Mr. Hirose's wife soon!"

"Oh, I will, ma'am."

Closing the door again, Cedric just sighed. A long one, at that.

And Misaki just looked at him, hope brimming in her wide eyes.

"You will take the case."

Gasping, Misaki positively shone as she gave a cheery whoop, but was stopped when Cedric spoke again.

"BUT. There's one condition."

She suddenly lost her shine; and looked apprehensively at the huge man, waiting.

"If you don't finish finding this woman within the next 24 hours, you will give up your badge."

Misaki's jaw dropped; whatever she had been expecting, it was definitely not this.

But then, she gritted her teeth; this might just be the chance she was waiting for!

"Okay, sir."

Wearing a grin as if he had just won the lottery, he said, "Good. You'll find the case file at the reception."

"OH...MY...GOD. That is the smallest case file I've ever seen!"

Misaki opened it, trying to ignore the man's high-pitched rant.

Giving a gasp, he continued.

"No suspects, no eyewitnesses, no evidence! WOW."

Misaki looked at the last known location, which showed the picture of the woman, who was a pretty blonde.

And then she noticed something.

The woman was holding a popsicle.

A red, familiar, popsicle.

Looking at the rest of the picture, she saw something else.

Aha.

Usui Takumi, I've got some business to do with you.

Now it gets interesting. Most chapters from here onwards have a slight twist to them, cuz they aren't as similar to the movie as the ones I've done up till now.

Btw, have you guys seen this anime called The case files of Jeweler Richard? It's actually pretty good. I mean, at first I thought it was yaoi, but then it turned out it's friendship (I'm not that into yaoi, but I don't mind watching it once in a while, so yeah).

Ehhhh...but it's kinda cute. The japanese guy (Seigi) is really dense, and the foreign guy (Richard) is pretty cool.

Anyway, please don't forget to review!
