The day came and went, the pair sleeping well into the evening and even after the green sun had vanished from the sky over the horizon. This was extremely rare for the Vantas to say the least, Gamzee didn't seem to have a regulated time he got up at night. Karkat however barely slept and when he did it was for a few hours at a time, this was the first time he had a full day's sleep since he was a wriggler. Though he also hasn't had such a peaceful rest in his life. While Karkat was too blissfully away from alternia in the conscious sense Gamzee knew damn well what was happening. Trolls were subjected to night terrors, however it was not naturally ingrained in them. Simply put there by the aspect of Chucklevoodoo that Gamzee possesses. Therefore sleeping beside a purple blood is equivalent to the slime in a coon. Not that almost any lowerblood would come to learn this fact of course. Unless they were either extremely brave or extremely stupid. However this day of peace had to come to an end eventually.

There was a loud vicious banding on the door that startled the clown awake. He was sure it would do the same for Karkat if he wasn't so dead to the world. Those purple eyes opened slowly as he rubbed at them, glancing over the small troll beside him before ever so gently sliding him off his chest and sitting up. Then the knocking started again, it sounded as though it threatened to break down the door itself. Which only served to irritate over intimidate. Sharp teeth gritted and regardless of the rules set Gamzee stormed his way over and sprung the door open with a snarl on his lips. He honestly expected to scare the hell out of some lowblood, or worse piss off an already distrusting Sollux. Only Gamzee wasn't met with either of those options.

A burly blue blood stood before him, he was large and tall. Cracked sunglasses over his eyes slowly trailed upwards to Gamzee's face. Where smeared paint could be seen that still somewhat resembles a grin, his deep purple eyes however showed a definite frown. He was not exactly keen on the rude awakening. The troll retracted his hand quickly from further knocking and seemed to almost curl into himself. Head peeking off to the side to look into the room, which Gamzee pushed his body in front of. What could this troll possibly want? The blue blood had straight black hair that ran past his shoulders and almost to the small of his back., sweat on his brow and one… broken horn. Things were ever so slowly clicking in Gamzee's brain. He knew this troll. So not some strange blue blood, but still not exactly a friend. His memories of Equius were far between, but the constant nagging he used to encounter was the first thing coming to his mind. Doubting the fact he was a real highblood. Now he looked like he was shaking in his boots.

"Ya need something?" Gamzee asked this slowly, while it had been many sweeps since he had met this troll his memories were of him being extremely into the caste system. So it was unlikely in Gamzee's mind that he would be here with any sort of good intention. Those eyes snapped back up to Gamzee's face, more sweat starting to form lower on his brow and down his neck. He was getting nervous being asked a simple question. This troll was obviously trying to think of his next words carefully under that stare.

"I um, I came to see Vantas- I mean Karkat, sir." Equius spoke with almost a stammer as he still stared and didn't drift eye contact with this troll. Someone who had once acted like Gamzee was a disgrace now almost panicked at the simplest of questions. It felt damn good to see. Like unintentional payback. "May I pass highblood?"

"Nah, I ain't got any reason to let you in. Karkat is all sorts of motherfucking busy at the moment." Gamzee said with a large sharp-toothed grin as he stepped up to the threshold of the door and leaned forward from the door frame. To where he was practically hovering over the poor blue blood. "But I don't mind talking to ya in the meantime brother."

Gamzee could see the gears turning in the blue bloods head, trying to figure a way out of telling him something, or a way to get out of this situation. Was he here to grab Karkat? Was he sent here and figured a purple blood must have gotten to him first? No. He would have simply stated something like that. This was something much different. If there were orders to grab Karkat or cull him Gamzee would have been told. Maybe it was a personal vendetta. What else could possibly drive him here.

"I-, well I wish to see my matesprit alone at the moment" Equius said this as he tried to bow up almost. As if he is trying to convince both Gamzee and himself of this. It was no longer a request, it was a demand. Part of Gamzee was sure this was a bluff. But some little bit of him did get a little jealous. His expression only darkened as he eyed the blue blood.

" You're his matesprit? You have got to be shitting me." Gamzee couldn't help but let out a little laugh, it was obviously a bit forced and sounded almost like a cackle. Not something anyone needed to hear from a clown's mouth. It is never followed by anything good. He promised no killing however. He planned to uphold that, but that did not mean he couldn't threaten.

"Y-yes! That is correct, therefore it is my responsibility to make sure that he is safe, correct? While I do not know his relationship to a highblood such as yourself I must ask you kindly respect my quadrant choices." Equius said this as he dared to step himself closer, his chest almost against Gamzee's. The clown did not flinch or move out of the way. In reality Equius wasn't quite sure if Karkat was even alive with a clown being here. Yet the lack of blood had his hopes up. Gamzee however was standing his ground. Watching every move Equius made. Trying to tell if he was lying. Why would Karkat go for anyone… like this?! This troll out of everyone! There was no way in hel-

"Makara, what the fuck are you doing?" Gamzee's ears perked up and his eyes went back to him. His face softened instantly. He gave a much softer smile. The breath the blue blood didn't even know he was holding was released hearing the angry troll's voice. "I told you to not leave this damn room-" Karkat came storming over, peeking out from under his arm, face paint also smeared on his face. Looks like this troll did quite the opposite of harm him. Equius has seen very few trolls that weren't clowns allowed to have their face painted. He knew damn well it was an honor. Then the name hit him. Makrara, Gamzee Makara.

"I ain't doing anything brother, I didn't even leave the room I swear!" Gamzee seemed to almost whine to this troll, his feet had stayed in the entire time. But he moved a bit back from the doorway to let Karkat see just who he was talking to. Karkat sighed and he rubbed at his own temples.

"Shit I completely forgot you were coming over, otherwise I would have messaged you. Sorry, Zahhak."

"Language Vantas." Equius scolded a moment before looking back at Gamzee as if waiting for this troll to jump him at one wrong move. "I would have liked to be informed that a highblood is doing here. Let alone The Grand Highblood." He definitely seemed a little bit freaked.

"Yeah well it was a last minute deal, I would also hope you two would get along well enough. You are both highbloods and Gamzee used to talk about you when you were wrigglers" Karkat sighed lightly as his hand gently went to Gamzee's arm. A tiny pap to keep the troll from being as tense. He most likely thought Equius was here to harm him. Which was reasonable given their operation being highly illegal. However, that couldn't be further from the case. After getting confirmation that Gamzee was not here to arm he explained his real reason. He detailed out the drone's raid schedule for the next month. Even giving it to him written down on a paper. This was risking the blue bloods life severely. But here he was giving up this information… maybe there was some truth to his claim on their relationship. Gamzee didn't like that
