In the Past.

In a small little Orphanage that was nestled in the forest of Konohagakure, just within the borders of Konoha and there were many children who lived in this small little building. Children aged as young as birth to as old as almost eleven or twelve, while any other older kids or adults were care givers for the younger ones.

Saiko was seen as a middle child, she was around five years old, and looked to the small trio that always held a fierceness in their eyes and a sharpness in their smile.

The three before her were different in small ways; The eldest looking one was around eight or nine years of age and looked to be watching over the younger two sibling carefully. They had shaggy brown hair, face clear of any marks or blemishes, at least any noticeable marks currently and their eyes were focused with narrowed pupils.

"Kizuki-onii…", "Aniki…" Both the younger ones called to Kizuki, their elder brother who had the shaggy hair.

One of the two sitting on the ground wore their hair just as wildly, and had burgundy colored hair which hung down like a upside down fire, or a broom without the handle to move it. The only similar feature was the pupils being slitted.

Kizuki looked at his youger sibling, Kin, which was with their wild Burgundy brown hair and a slight toothy grin present.

The last and youngest sibling being Kori was almost an exact copy of the eldest in being a brunette, but they seemed to just rub at their eyes and not show the distinguishing slit pupil eyes, at least at the moment. She was shyly looking to the eldest and around cautiously, almost all but missing the confidence of her other siblings.

Saiko was rather alone, she wore her shaggy white mane of hair down, and had it hang until the small of her back. Her skin clear of blemishes currently, and her eyes a gentle gray, but each orphan wore simple gray shirt and brown pants, maybe a grey dress if a girl.

The girl was quiet, and was not fond of other people in the orphanage, but found the shinobi that came in the building an taught them both arithmetic, reading and even how to defend themselves more interesting to focus on than any other thing of the orphanage.

"We will be teaching you all as the next generation of Shinobi and Kunoichi to defend and protect the village, bring peace to this land and give others a happy life to live." The instructor said in a dull tone, while making most students either excited at the prospect of becoming a shinobi or kunoichi, and others just as bored as or more so than before.

Saiko was not exactly interested in what the teacher had to say, but she found what they did fascinating and even with her many classmates; most being orphan kids, there were a few that were clan kids. Orochimaru was one of the orphans, found in the wilderness, the origins of where they came from rather mysterious, unknown.

The words spoken kept droning, almost like an odd consistency and made Saiko fall asleep slowly, resting her head upon the desk her arms cushioning where her cheek was to be nestled. Resting there for a little while, she felt at peace, after so many days of the same drone wearing her down to want to nap.

"No Napping!" The teacher snapped at the class, throwing sharply at Saiko's resting form, located one level from the front of the room. The whistling of the objects swiftly flying at her drawing the attention of some people, while the sensei smirked at the thought of removing a possible nuisance from their class.

To the class's surprise, Saiko raised her hand, and swiftly slammed it forcefully upon the very desk she sat at breaking the wood and chipping it, a part of the desk she sat at flung upright shielding her from the thrown objects which soon penetrated the underside of the desk.

Raising her head once more and rubbing her eyes wearily, her gray eyes appeared to darken slightly as they looked upon the teacher and seeing how there were shurikens sticking out of the boards of the desk.

"I do not appreciate that." Saiko muttered softly, before yawning and slowly standing to leave the room. She knew that she showed all her hand, which was all she could do, being sensitive to hearing even the throwing of a knife or a wheeze of a neighboring classmate.

Saiko was not super strong, but felt comfortable with her chakra control and even pretty capable in defending against other kids her own age, sometimes some kids older, but that was usually pushing her luck.

Settling against a tree that was close to the orphanage, she started to fall into a light sleep.

The teacher was surprised that the orphan girl Saiko was capable of sensing the shuriken coming and even countering the attack, they were dulled enough not to kill a child, but would of left knicks and scratches if they did make contact with skin. To see her able to protect herself.

He looked to the other students present, their eyes wide as saucers looking from the teacher to the spot Saiko was previous sitting at. The desk was disfigured, having her spot and a part of it splintered upwards to hold up as a shield. The rest of the desk was as pristinely intact as it was before being sat at at the beginning of Academy days, but that just made moments like these more surprising to see.

Orochimaru, who was sitting in the room with all the other students, was actually looking at where Saiko had been at previously in slight curiosity at the strength behind that hand slam. He was quiet and soon shrugged it off as mere luck from a random girl, not worth much attention on his part.

Unbeknownst to the students, a couple of Jounin were scouting out possible students to take under their wing as apprentice genin eventually as well.

Outside the academy, Saiko slowly treaded towards a large tree to sit at, her small frame feeling weary from the sudden burst of chakra surged forward to protect herself, even if it was not a lethal attack at her.

Snuggling into the trunk of the tree, shade wavering ever-so-slightly and the sunlight shimmering through the flurry of leaves, warming her skin and bones gently, she closed her eyes to slowly fall asleep to the warmth surrounding her.

The feeling was short lived, for Saiko could sense chakra moving all about her, almost like the end of class, but it felt too early for it to be the case in her mind.

'Maybe its break? Why did it have to be break now… its so loud…' She thought, curling into herself and pressing her hands upon her ears, hoping to block out the noise.

The story was rolling and I partially am tempted to have her involved in a bigger way... perhaps earn Danzo's interest, maybe get kid Orochimaru? Who knows where she may go..
