Chapter 9

Friday afternoon was finally here. "Great first week Amanda!" Amanda shut down all of the remaining computers and glowed while Mrs. Stabler praised her. "Thank you! I really enjoy it. School has always come easy to me." She smiled, "Well, you are great with the note taking. Keep it up ok! See you Monday morning." She went to the dorm, took a shower, and got into her comfy clothes. She hadn't been back over to Olivia's place, but they texted or called every day.

She was about to text her when Kim and Nick walked in. "Hey guys!" They waved and sat on the bed. Kim gave her a hard time, "Ready for bed already?" Amanda looked down, "I'm not in bed clothes, just comfy joggers and my T-shirt." Nick said he was going to see a friend, but he'd be right back. Amanda shrugged, "It's getting close to Thanksgiving and Nick wants me to meet his parents, since I'm going there for Thanksgiving this year." Amanda always ate with Kim and her family even though her mom didn't like her, she was nice during the holidays. Kim continued, "We are going there tonight for the weekend so it won't be as weird. Do you want to come?" Amanda laughed, "And be the third wheel. No thanks. Enjoy yourself!"

Kim sighed, "I love Nick, but I feel like I'm leaving you." Amanda didn't want her to feel that way. "I don't think like that. I'm glad to see you happy. Plus, I can always go see Liv." Kim didn't believe her, Amanda never was attached so quickly to anyone." She packed some things and Nick came back. "Well, call me if you need anything." Amanda smiled, "Be careful driving."

Kim called Olivia. "Hi Olivia it's Kim!" Olivia looked at her phone and was worried, "Hey! Is Amanda ok?" Kim thought that was strange, "Yeah, but I'm going out of town for the weekend. I tried to get her to come, but she hates being the third wheel. She mentioned she could hang out with you." Olivia listened, "Yeah, I told her anytime and I meant it. If you're worried, I'll check on her." Kim was listening carefully, "Olivia, are you trying to be more like her mom, more like her friend, or something else? I love her and I don't want her to get hurt. I can't really read you or her right now, but I think she may like you. Please don't hurt her and maybe be honest about where this is going."

Olivia smiled and was glad Amanda had someone like Kim. "I don't know where we stand or where it's all going, but I will be there no matter what we decide. I definitely don't want to be her mom." Kim laughed and said goodbye. Olivia decided to FaceTime her. "Hey! Why are you in bed, it's Friday." Amanda laughed, "I'm not in bed, I'm sitting on my bed. There's a difference you know." Olivia rolled her eyes. Amanda explained Kim was gone for the weekend and she was just hanging out.

Amanda saw she was still at her desk, "You're still at work?" Olivia shook her head, "I'm leaving in 10 minutes. I also have the weekend off and I'm not on call. How about I come and pick you up and you stay with me? I have a perfectly good guest room." Amanda smiled, she hadn't been back to Olivia's place, since she just showed up. She enjoyed talking to her, but missed being with her. "Ok, I would like that." Amanda packed a bag, changed into some jeans and a better T-shirt, headed outside when she saw the "I'm here" text.

She climbed in the SUV. "Nice car!" Olivia pulled off, "It's my work vehicle, put your seatbelt on." Amanda giggled, "Why are you going to arrest me?" Olivia smirked, "I believe I should have months ago." Amanda smiled knowing she was talking about the gambling club. "I run fast right?" Olivia asked about dinner, "You pick Miss fast runner." Amanda asked for Junior's, "I want some cheesecake. I've never been, but my finance group was talking about it. Can we go?" Olivia smiled, "Sure baby." Olivia couldn't pull it back. It just came out. Her feelings were getting stronger, but they would need to really talk. She looked at Amanda, who didn't seem to have a problem. She was just smiling.

They ate and talked about their week. Olivia often held back a lot of her work week, because she didn't want Amanda to know all the nightmares she saw. Amanda got her cheesecake and shared it with Olivia who was too full for her own. Then they headed back to Olivia's place. Hi Simon!" Amanda chatted with him while Olivia checked her mailbox. "Night Simon."

When they walked in, Amanda had her bag and was a little nervous. Olivia threw her mail on the table. "Come on, let's get you settled." She showed her to the room. "You have your own bathroom, towels, soap, and stuff in the closet." She looked at Amanda and didn't want to make a big deal out of anything. "I'm going to shower and change. Amanda, you're free to walk around, watch TV, or anything you want."

Olivia left her and Amanda took a shower and changed. She peeked down the hallway and saw Olivia's door open. Olivia left it open on purpose to make her comfortable. Amanda called out before getting to the door, "Liv!" Olivia popped out, with her wet hair, "Hey, just drying my hair."

Amanda looked at her up and down. Olivia was wearing leggings that showed off all her curves and a tight tank top that made her boobs look full and amazing. "Amanda, are you ok?" Amanda snapped out of it, "I didn't know if you were going to bed." Olivia thought she was so cute while checking her out. "No, not yet. You want to watch TV? You can sit on my bed, I'm almost done." Amanda climbed on Olivia's bed and it smelled like her.

She turned on the TV and found a movie. Olivia came out and climbed in next to her. "Find anything good?" Amanda shrugged, "Bridesmaids. It's old but so funny." Amanda wasn't big on expressing her feelings but Olivia made her feel different. "How old are you?" Olivia turned around, "35." Olivia kept her eyes on her. "How long have you been a cop?" Olivia answered quickly, "14 years."

Olivia smiled, math was Amanda's thing and she was calculating. "Are you dating anyone?" Olivia kept the answers coming, "Nope." Amanda swallowed and her mouth was dry, "When was your last relationship?" Olivia said, "It's been a while. I've had some one night stands, but not really a relationship." Amanda asked, "Have you had sex with guys and girls." Olivia finally sat up and looked directly in her eyes, "Both. How many questions do you have? You do know I'm counting so I get to ask next."

Amanda's eyes went wide. "Amanda, where is this going?" Amanda sighed, "I think I like you, but you think I'm a kid. You don't look 35 and your body definitely doesn't." Olivia smiled, "You're young, but age is whatever. If I'm being honest, I wouldn't go after an 18 year old." Amanda went to get up when she felt Olivia grab her arm, "But if an 18 year old came after me. I might consider it." Amanda smiled, "Don't smile yet. We would need to have a very serious conversation and we would need to move super slow."

Amanda talked to Olivia about her dating experiences in high school and her last boyfriend. "I just didn't have a connection and the sex didn't help. And before you ask, no he wasn't my first. I think I go both ways, but you would be my first." Olivia said, "Oh great!" Amanda looked at her, "Does it bother you that you could be my mom?" Olivia raised her eyebrows, "Age wise I guess I could, even though that's still young. That's why I need this to go slow. Amanda, I can't change our age."

Amanda shut her eyes, "Can I kiss you. I know you want to go slow, but I need to know if this can go anywhere other than you being like a mom or a friend and if I kiss you I'll know. We both will and we can decide." Olivia shook her head. Amanda leaned forward and kissed Olivia's soft lips gently at first, then with some tongue and more passion. Amanda pulled back, sucking the bottom of Olivia's lip. "Shit, you are not a mom."
