Chapter 25
On Wednesday Olivia took off, she spent the day with Amanda and Noah. They were at the park and Olivia was watching Amanda push Noah on the baby swings. Every night started with Olivia holding her and every night turned into sex. Olivia was worried about her, "Are you still ok with marriage?" Amanda stopped pushing, "Of course Liv. Why would you ask that?" Olivia walked over to the swings and picked up Noah. He was sound asleep, "Come on let's get him home, we can talk there."
Lucy was helping with the dinner and they put Noah in his crib. Amanda looked at Olivia, "Liv, why did you ask me about marriage?" Olivia pulled her straddling her lap and looked into her blue eyes, "You've been different lately. And the sex, are you ok?" Amanda laughed, "I'm good and I've been loving the sex. You haven't?" Olivia smiled, "Amanda Rollins, I love everything about you. I just want to make sure. Feelings change with emotion Amanda."
Amanda smiled, "I'm absolutely positive Liv. I want this and you." They were getting married on Valentine's weekend. Everything was planned and set. They got dressed and ready for dinner. Everyone came early and of course Kim was back. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Amanda took a breath, "I'm nervous. Where's my baby?" Kim smiled, "She had a cold, so Nick kept her home. You know he wanted to be here." She hugged Amanda, "Everything will be ok. I'll be on one side and Olivia will be on the other."
Amanda walked out with Kim and Olivia by her side, to see her family. Fin gave her a wink. Melinda and Alex both gave her a hug and encouraging words. She smiled at Kathy, Elliot, Peter, and Lucy. They were all standing around when they heard a knock. Elliot was sent to answer the door. "Hi Beth. Come on in."
Amanda watched her mother walk through the door and immediately made eye contact with her daughter. Olivia stepped forward and introduced everyone. "Welcome." Amanda never saw her mom look so good. "Hi Beth." Everyone in the room tensed up when they heard Amanda's tone. Beth on the other hand knew she deserved everything Amanda was ready to dish out. "Hi Amanda! You look so beautiful."
That sat, talked and ate. Kim looked Beth right in the eye, "So where have been all these years?" Olivia looked at Kim, "Hey, chill out, it's family dinner." Kim didn't care, she wasn't the wild one and this was completely out of her character. "No Liv! I won't chill out." She looked back at Beth, "This is family dinner and Beth, just so we're clear, you aren't family. And you owe my best friend some god damn answers."
Beth looked at everyone, "I've been in Atlanta at my parents home. I reconnected with them and I have some other family there. I got clean and I came back a few months ago, hoping to find you." She looked at Amanda, "I wish I could tell you that I don't want anything, but I do." Olivia held Amanda's hand. "The only thing I want is to be in your life in any way you allow me. I would like to stay in New York and get to know you and your family."
She looked at Kim, "Kim, I remember you. I'm glad you stuck by her, when I didn't. She turned her attention to her daughter, "I know I'm not your family, but I'm so glad you have one. Amanda, I'm sorry I wasn't the mother you deserved. I have no excuse."
Amanda looked at her family, "If you want to stick around fine, but I don't need a mom anymore. You can start by coming to our family dinners, if you want but I can't promise you anything." After the talk they finished dinner, Beth even jumped in and helped clean.
Kim cornered Beth, "Don't hurt her. I mean it." Olivia heard her and grabbed Kim's shoulder. "Beth give us a minute, please." She watched tears stream from her eyes. "Liv, I hate her. She put Amanda through hell. She doesn't deserve this forgiveness." Olivia hugged her, "I know and I know you took care of her. Amanda is a big girl and she's not forgiving her. But Kim that's her mom and I know you get that. You love your mom, right?" Kim shook her head, She knew what Olivia meant. "Now, get it together, because she's going to need both of us to get through this."
Everyone said goodnight. Olivia put Noah to bed, while Amanda took her shower. She climbed into bed, "How do you feel?" Amanda shrugged, "Liv, honestly I don't know. I'm glad the initial meeting is over. She seems different, but I don't trust her. I just don't." Olivia held her, "Liv, can you believe Kim? She did learn something from me huh?" They both laughed as they fell asleep.
