Chapter 28
"Are you ever going to stop looking at that ring?" Amanda sat down next to Olivia on the couch while holding Noah. Olivia smiled, "I love it when the light hits it." Amanda gave Olivia her engagement ring on Christmas morning.
Olivia looked at Noah, "How's his fever?" Amanda brushed her finger over his red cheeks, "It's down and normal. He took his medicine like a big boy." Olivia cuddled up with them, "Are you sad, we're missing the ball drop with our friends?" Amanda shook her head, "Nope, I think I'm going to like this a lot better." They all took a nap and at midnight they welcomed a New Year as a family.
"Kim, what was I thinking? I'm getting married and not having a honeymoon." Kim looked around at the suite. "Ummm as much as this suite is costing, this is your honeymoon. Plus your anniversary will always be Valentine's Day. What more can you ask for?"
Olivia and Amanda were at Dream Hotel to have their wedding. Their family and friends were there to celebrate the event, then have a family dinner. They stood in front of the minister and when they looked into each other's eyes, it felt like they were the only people in the room.
Olivia looked at Amanda and slid on the wedding band, "With this ring, I say I do. Amanda, I promise to be your navigator, best friend, and wife. I promise to honor, love, and cherish you through all life's adventures. Wherever we go, we'll go together. Nothing in this world."
Amanda smiled and took Olivia's hand. "With this ring, I say I do. Liv, Today I say, "I do" but to me that means, "I will". I will take your hand and stand by your side in the good and the bad. I dedicate myself to your happiness, success, and smile. I will love you forever. Nothing in this world."
After pictures were taken at different spots at the hotel. They had a catered dinner and cut the cake. They said goodbye to everyone, but spent a little more time with Noah. Olivia thanked everyone, while Beth and Amanda shared a moment. "We appreciate and love all of you. Lucy the limo will take you, Alex, and Peter home. We will be home tomorrow night."
Beth smiled at her daughter, "Amanda, thank you for allowing me to be in your life again and for today's invitation. I don't deserve it or your kindness, so I don't take it for granted." Amanda smiled, "I'm happy and honestly, I never thought I would be. Liv and I have Noah and plan to have more. You definitely taught me what not to do. My kids will never see the pain I did."
Beth frowned and Amanda continued, "The past is the past. I don't want to live in it or think about it. I just want to move forward and have you as my mom and a grandmother to my babies." Beth looked at Amanda and hugged her, "Don't let me down." Beth held her face, "I won't." Olivia smiled at the exchange.
Amanda looked out the window at the amazing view. "You good baby? I saw you and your mom talking. No more Beth huh?" Amanda turned to face her, "I'm trying to be a grownup about everything. I guess I can't act like a kid forever. Is it bad that I still think in the back of my mind, she's going to let me down?" Olivia held her at her waist. "Let's just think positive thoughts and if that happens, you still have your circle.
They made their way to the bed and were in the middle of a serious make out session. Hands, lips, and tongues were everywhere. "Damn Liv! This is sex after marriage. Your teeth marks are on me." Olivia laughed, "Well, you marked my neck. I haven't had a hickey since high school." They held each other until they fell asleep.
They woke up the next morning and ordered breakfast. "This was good, better than I could ever imagine." Olivia winked at her. "Liv?" Olivia looked up to a serious Amanda, "Yeah baby?" Amanda swallowed, "I want more kids."
Olivia smiled, "Kids as in plural? Meaning not Noah plus 1, but like Noah plus, you fill in the blank." Amanda smiled, "Ok, that sounds bad, but maybe at least one more." Olivia shook her head, "We can make that happen. There are ways." Amanda smiled, "Are you going to give me everything I want?" Olivia laughed, "I usually do. Why stop now?"
