Chapter 30

Everyone packed and headed to the beach house. The envelope had the name of the lawyer to contact. They called him and gave their arrival date and flight number and he said everything would be handled. They met the lawyer, Trevor Langan. "It's very nice to meet you. I figured we would start here in Atlanta for 2 days. Then send you to the beach for 5 days. After fun and sun, we'll get you back, spend the night here and you can head back to New York."

Trevor explained the Atlanta house was built by her grandparents and was in remarkable condition. When they pulled up everyone was in shock "It's a rare mid century modern architecture on an acre in Buckhead with granite stone walls that create private gardens around the property. It's been remodeled. It has walnut floors and a floating staircase which takes you upstairs to the lounging area, a guest bedroom and a spa room. The kitchen is beautiful. The downstairs opens to a pool with an entertaining space and additional bedrooms. There are plenty of bedrooms."

Everyone looked around and Noah and Olivia were excited for the pool. "I'll let you get settled. The refrigerator is full and you have a car in the garage if needed. I'll come around lunchtime tomorrow and we can talk business." The girls cooked and talked, while the boys took the kids swimming.

Kim was first, "Amanda what's going on in your head?" Amanda shrugged, "I can't believe she grew up like this and I grew up the way I did. I'm a little angry with her. Is that ok?" Everyone agreed, "Absolutely Amanda, but don't hold it in, talk to us." Amanda looked around, "She left me alone and came back to this. I get it, maybe she didn't know what would happen, but it's still messed up. I mean this is nice, but it doesn't make it ok."

Amanda thought about something else, "You know I can't be too upset. If I didn't live the way I did, I probably would have any of you in my life. All of you are way more important than any of this." Olivia held her waist and kissed her. Melinda held up her wine, "Cheers to that. But Amanda you made it anyway. You did it all, you beat all the odds. And this is nice, but it's even nicer that you don't need it." Alex yelled, "Amen, but you better take it!" They all laughed.

The next day Trevor showed up with lunch and paperwork. He explained that everything was in Amanda's name. He had a box with family pictures, jewelry, and a list of living family members. "Once you give permission they will be notified of who you are and be able to contact you." He pulled out this long document. This is the trust. It totals 10 million dollars. Amanda spit her drink across the table. "I'm so sorry." Trevor laughed, "It's ok. I know it's a shock."

Amanda and Olivia agreed to put the house on the market and keep the beach house like Beth said. "That's a great plan, unless you live here, it's best. You would spend more money with the upkeep. The beach house though is covered. They have it rented out mostly, so it's making money. Before the schedule goes out you decide any days you want and it will be blocked for you."

They wrapped up business and headed to the beach house the next day. It was fully furnished. It had 7 bedrooms and an Olympic size pool. The beach was just over a crossover. They enjoyed the days and nights. "Liv, I can't believe this. It's a lot to take in. When we get back I want to visit the doctor and talk about kids." Olivia kissed her and agreed.

The night before the flight back, Amanda announced something big. Trevor was there to help. She gave each couple a million dollars. "Amanda, this is crazy and too much, no way!" Amanda wouldn't hear it, "No, I don't need that much and you're my family. I love you guys. Without you, money means nothing."

When they returned they went to see the doctor as promised. Amanda was young, and she agreed it was the best to carry a baby, especially since Olivia was a cop. They had the procedure and it was a success. Everything was going right. They were pregnant and the Atlanta house sold quickly, just under 3 million. "Liv, you make me happy." Olivia held her in bed, "Amanda, you make me happier." Amanda looked up in her chocolate brown eyes and they both said, "Nothing in this world."
