The icey night, filled with dew,
Holds the coming storm.
Though dust and ashes fill the earth,
The grass will grow anew.
The brightly shining stars,
Hold the key to light.
The swiftly moving storm,
Holds the key to sight.
The three full moons shone brightly down on the rainforest. A large, dark dragon crept through the trees to the clearing where she had hidden her eggs. Why isn't he here yet?
Stardew carefully pulled her two eggs out from under a bush. A twig snapped somewhere behind her. She whipped around, ready to defend her unborn dragonets. When she saw who it was, she relaxed.
"Frost, it's tonight," she told the large white dragon that was now approaching her and the egg. "They're hatching tonight." Frost smiled as he wrapped his tail around hers. They turned to the two eggs set out in the moonlight. One of the eggs shook slightly. Then it started to crack. The two dragons watched as a small dragonet poked her head out. She tumbled out from her egg onto the ground. She looked like a NightWing, except for her white wings and the large IceWing spikes down her spine. She gazed up at the moons, and Stardew glimpsed the silver teardrop scales behind the dragonets eyes.
"Eclipse," she murmured, gazing into her blue eyes. "My little Eclipse." Frost stuck out his talon as the little dragon climbed onto them.
"Eclipse is the perfect name for her," he replied. They were silent for a moment, before the crack of the other egg caught there attention. Another dragon crawled out from the egg. He looked like an IceWing, but he had ash-grey scales and black NightWing wings.
"Ashspike," decided Frost. "Ashspike and Eclipse." Stardew held up the grey dragonet.
"Yes. Ashspike and Eclipse." She closed her eyes. "They will do great things one day."
Smoke watched her little dragonet gaze up at the three full moons. Her little thrice-moon born dragon looked like an orange SkyWing, but had gills, blue wings, and webbed feet, from his SeaWing father. She wasn't sure about the silver scales scattered along his wings though, as she has never seen any SeaWings with them.
Catfish. She had hidden the egg in a small cave in the mountains, after Catfish disappeared one day. She had hoped he would come back for their egg, their little Emberpool. She sighed and pulled him closer. She curled protectively around her little dragonet and stayed with him for the night. All night, she dreamt troubled dreams about Catfish.
