CHAPTER I: Daydreaming
It was a fine morning on the island of Sodor, the sunshine peaked through hazy clouds and birds chirped making a new day. At Tidmouth Sheds, the engines began to wake up from their slumber. Gordon the express engine was one of the more... reluctant ones. He muttered a soft 'morning' as he was waiting for his firebox to be warmed up.
"Hurry up, lazybones!" whistled Thomas, cheekily, "or you'll be late to pull the express!"
"I'll get up when I'm ready, Thomas.." grumbled Gordon.
"Now, Thomas," said Edward, "It would be nice if you'd stop teasing him for once." "But it's true, Edward," said James, cheekily, "Gordon here keeps having daydreams so that's why he sleeps in all the time."
"James, just leave him alone," said Emily, sternly.
"She's right, James," said Thomas, "And besides Edward, I was just telling him to get up before he's late."
"Alright, alright, I'm up," huffed Gordon as Henry began to wake up from his slumber after too much bickering from the other engines. "Good morning, everyone," he yawned, "Am I late?"
"Morning, Henry.." mumbled Gordon.
"Fine..." huffed James to Emily before talking to the half awake LMS Black Five, "And no you're not late, sleepyhead."
A few minutes later, Gordon was waiting for his coaches at Knapford Station. He was left thinking about something, "Henry is a nice engine and a little cute— oh what on earth am I thinking?!"
"Daydreaming on the job, eh?" teased James. "Oh shut up," grumbled Gordon.
"Daydreaming?" wondered Percy. "The real question here is what about or who…" mocked James.
"Enough of your teasing, James!" hissed Thomas, after shunting the express, "Off you go, Gordon!" Once the express was coupled behind Gordon, he was ready to go. "Express coming through!"
"James, I have a question; who does Gordon have a crush on?" asked Percy, who was still curious ab Gordon daydreaming about someone or something in particular. "You think Gordon was daydreaming on his crush?" remarked James, "Makes sense but beats me."
"Speaking of daydreaming, James," said Thomas, cheekily, "Shouldn't you be working by now?" "Oh shut it, Thomas," snorted James as he chuffed out of the station, "Takes one to know."
"Guess I'm off to deliver the mail!" peeped Percy.
"And I'm off to work on my branchline!" Thomas peeped back.
Throughout the day, Percy was right. Gordon has been thinking about his crush and an awful lot more than usual. Then, he saw Henry waiting at a junction for the red signal to turn green. "Hi, Gordon!" he whistled, "How are you doing?"
"Oh hello, Henry," replied Gordon, shyly, "I'm alright and you?"
"Hehe, I'm great," said Henry, "I was thinking if maybe later you can help me with a heavy goods train that I'm supposed to be taking to the mainland this afternoon if that's okay with you."
"Oh uhh... Absolutely-I mean I would be more than glad to help," stammered Gordon.
"Thanks, see you later~" replied Henry as he gave Gordon a wink. Once the signal turned green, Henry left with his freight train, leaving Gordon almost frozen about what he did to him. "..What the hell just happened?!" Gordon thought to himself.
