Kissyfur's New Toy
Outside in the swamp, Gus and Emmie Lou take a peak at the scene of the explosion with the firefighters going inside the showman's trailer that is on fire. "That's our showman's trailer." said Gus. "Was he your trainer, too?" Emmie Lou asked. "He trained all of the animals in the circus." Gus answered. They watch the firefighters pull out the corpse of Jim Showman which shocked Gus. Emmie Lou covers eyes as she couldn't believe what she just saw. "Unbelievable." Gus said.
Back at Kissyfur's house, he sits on his bed looking at the Chucky doll and reads the words on his overalls "Good Guys". "Where have I seen this doll before?" Kissyfur asked himself. Chucky then speaks in a child voice which startled Kissyfur. "Hi, I'm Chucky. I am your friend to the end." Kissyfur then smiles and then decides that he will keep the doll and wraps his paws around Chucky and hugs him. While he is not looking, Chucky stays very still and secretly moves his eyes on the bear cub and moves them back in position. "I like to be hugged." said the doll.
Downstairs, Gus opens the door and walks in sees that Kissyfur is not in the living room and begins to call him. "Kissyfur?" he called. "Up here, Dad!" Kissyfur replied. Gus walks to the stairs and climbs up and walks to his little cub's room and sees him hugging the doll. "Hey. What do you got there?" he asked. "I found him under my bed!" Kissyfur replied. "I really love it, Dad! Thanks!"
Gus gets all confused as he doesn't remember getting Kissyfur a toy. "Well, son." Gus said scratching his head. "At least you have a pal to protect you from bad dreams." "By the way, Dad. Where did you get him?" Kissyfur asked his dad. Gus gets more confused and then decided to play along. "Well, you know, you're ole' papa is getting old. He can't quite remember." Gus said to Kissyfur. "It's okay." said Kissyfur. "So, what's your doll's name?" Gus asked. Then the doll starts speaking again. "Hi, I'm Chucky. I am your friend to the end. I like to be hugged." Gus gets startled after the doll started to speak and he begins to chuckle. "Well, he is something." he said. "I'm gonna go outside and show my friends." Kissyfur said as he hops off the bed carrying the doll. "Okay." Gus accepted. "Come back before supper." "Okay, Dad. I will." Kissyfur replied as he's walking down the stairs and walks out the door with the Chucky doll. With Gus still in the room, he starts thinking about the doll as if there is something he knows about it. "Now, where have I seen that doll before?" Gus asked himself.
Kissyfur carries the doll to his friends who are playing. Toot sees Kissyfur joining and he gets excited. "Hey! Kissyfur!" Toot shouted rushing over to him. As he stops, he asks "Do you want to play hide and seek with us?" "Sure!" Kissyfur answered. "Hey!" Toot yelped as he notices Kissyfur holding the Chucky doll. "Where did you get that?" he asked. Then Kissyfur's other friends, the pig named Duane, the white bunny with red bows on her ears named Beehonie, the porcupine named Stuckey, and the big orange warthog named Lennie, join along as Kissyfur shows them his new doll. "Oh, I found him under my bed." he replied to Toot. "He is so cute!" said Beehonie. "Look at Sissyface playing with dollies! That is the ugliest doll I have ever seen!" said Lennie who likes to bully other cubs. After what Lennie said, Chucky turns his eyes up on Lennie and speaks with the doll voice. "Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?" Lennie backs away after seeing what his eyes just did because he got startled. "That really is the ugliest doll I've ever seen!" "There's nothing wrong with owning a doll, Lennie!" said Kissyfur defensively. "Yeah. I really like him." said Stuckey. "Can I see him, Kissyfur?" Beehonie asked. Kissyfur felt very protective of the doll as he grew attached to it already. "Well..." Kissyfur tried to think of a way not to hurt Beehonie's feelings. "Please?" Beehonie asked blinking her eyes. "Okay." Kissyfur said. "But I want him back after you're done." Toot shouted at Beehonie "Hey! I wanna play with him!" Toot grabs onto Chucky's legs and tries to pull him from Beehonie. "I had him first, Toot!" Beehonie argued. Beehonie and Toot fight over Chucky while Beehonie grabs his arms and Toot pulls his legs. "Well, I saw him, first!" Tout argued. "Guys! Stop!" Kissyfur yells as he covers his eyes afraid they're gonna accidentally rip Chucky. They go into a tug of war over him while not looking, Chucky makes an angry expression as he's getting hurt while being pulled over. Beehonie and Toot have their eyes tight shut and Chucky finally gets aggressive and bites Beehonie's finger. "OW!" Beehonie shouted as she got bit and got Kissyfur and Toot's attention. "What happened?" Toot asked and Beehonie hold her finger staring at Toot thinking that he bit her and begins to cry. "I'm telling!" Beehonie cried as she runs off to get her parents. "Mommy! Toot bit me!" she shouted. "Way to go, Toot!" Kissyfur shouted at Toot as he was being sarcastic. "You think biting her was gonna solve the problem?!" he asked. "But I didn't bite her, Kissyfur!" Toot said with honest. "You gotta believe me!" Then Kissyfur turns to his other friends. "Did you see Toot bite her?" he asked. "I better stay out of it." said Duane. "I only heard her yelling." said Stuckey. "You're on your own, little beaver." said Lennie. "But I didn't bite Beehonie! Really! I didn't!" Tout shouted as he begins to shed tears and turns to Kissyfur. "You believe me, Kissyfur. Don't you?"
Toot asked with the cute but Kissyfur still doesn't take it. "I'm sorry, Toot." Kissyfur said harshly and Toot begins to cry and runs home. "You're not my friend anymore, Kissyfur!" Toot shouted while crying. Kissyfur then sees Duane, Stuckey, and Lennie staring at him angry with him. "What?" Kissyfur asked them. "Way to go, Sissyface!" said Lennie. "I may be a bully. But I wouldn't go that far." "He's a got a point!" said Duane. "You really hurt Toot's feelings!" "I think Toot was telling the truth!" said Stuckey. "Come on, guys." Lennie demanded as they begin walking away. "Let him play with his new dolly because that's all he cares about now."
As Kissyfur watches his friends walking away, he then hears a voice calling. "Hey, kid." Kissyfur looks around and sees nobody. "Down here." Kissyfur looks down as notices the doll sitting down and waving at him. "That's a good bear." Kissyfur gets startled and backs away. "Hey! Hey! Don't be scared!" said the Chucky doll. "It's me! Chucky! You're best friend!" Kissyfur starts shaking all nervous. "You're really talking." he said while still nervous. "What did you expect?" he asked. Kissyfur begins to reply but Chucky cuts him off. "Don't answer that. And by the way," said Chucky "don't worry about those friends of yours. They're just jealous you have me as your favorite toy." Kissyfur still stares at the talking doll. As Chucky stands up he begins to speak. "You know, people say that friends turn against each other because of something they are attached to." Kissyfur thinks about it. "You know what? They're right." he explained. "And it's wonderful!" he exclaimed. "How is this possible that you talk to me?" Kissyfur asked. "That's not important." said Chucky "The important things is I am here for you. If anything begins to happen to you, I'll handle it." Chucky smiled after saying that. "Kissyfur!" shouted the voice Kissyfur's angry father. "You come over here this second!" Kissyfur shouted back. "Yes, father!" Kissyfur turns back and notices Chucky back to being a normal doll and then picks him up and carries him back to the swamp and Kissyfur was in fact ready to be in trouble after hearing his dad.
As Kissyfur is home in the living room sitting on the couch while his angry father is standing up with is fists on his sides. "You tell me exactly why you yelled at Toot!" Gus commanded. "He bit Beehonie while they were fighting over my Chucky doll." Kissyfur answered. "But Toot said he didn't bite Beehonie!" Gus argued. "That's not what Beehonie said!" Kissyfur argued back. "Well, Kissyfur, I am very unhappy with you." Gus said to Kissyfur folding his arms. "What you said to Toot was unacceptable!" Kissyfur bows his head down as he is ready for his punishment. "You leave me no choice! Until you are ready to apologize to Toot, you are going to go up to your room and stay in there for the rest of the night! Because you are grounded! Now, go!" Gus demanded as he is pointing to the room. Kissyfur carries Chucky to the stairs on his way to his. "And no supper for you tonight." said Gus.
As he enters his room, Kissyfur closes the door and carries Chucky to the bed and sets him and he starts moving again. "Bummer." said Chucky. "I am so sorry you got grounded pal." "I guess I was so harsh on Toot." Kissyfur admitted. "Hey, don't be so hard on yourself." said Chucky. "By the way, let me confess something." Kissyfur looks at Chucky.
Gus presses his chin on paw feeling that he was so hard on Kissyfur but then he hears his son calling. "Dad! Dad!" he shouted running down the stairs. "I thought I told you to stay your room!" Gus asked. "I know! But I'm ready to apologize to Toot! You're right, Dad!" Kissyfur said "It wasn't Toot that bit Beehonie at all!" "See?" said Gus. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" Then he begins to ask the next question. "Now, who was it that bit her?" "It was Chucky!" Kissyfur answered. As Gus heard that, he felt that Kissyfur wasted his time. "Okay. Back to your room." Gus said. "But Dad. I'm telling the truth." Kissyfur said. "Son, come back down when you're really ready to apologize! Now, back up there!" Gus demanded pointing up the stairs again. Kissyfur walks up the stairs back to his room and back to Chucky. "See?" Chucky said to Kissyfur. "I told you it wouldn't work." "It's all your fault!" Kissyfur said to Chucky. "Look. I'm sorry. I just got aggressive. That's all." Chucky apologized although he really meant to bite her. Then he hears a knock on Kissyfur's bedroom door and then Gus opens and enters the room. "Son, Miss Emmie and I gotta go check out that explosion scene to investigate." Gus said. "Uncle Shelby is gonna watch you tonight and I told him you were grounded and you not allowed out of your room. Understood?" Kissyfur answered to Gus "Yes, dad."
