Artie and Bennett had continued to search for anywhere that Bleylock could have stashed the Multiflux devices. It had most the pirates busy all day and night.
Even Corso found he had little to no down time while they searched.
He was getting tired.
If only Sonny had been there to pull his share of the job.. Corso rubbed the bridge of his nose to force himself to stay awake, when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
That hand.. Corso turned, to see Sonnys smiling face, look at him.
"You look like you need a hand and a fresh pair of eyes Corso. I think its time I take over and do my share, don't you?" he said.
Corso could only nodd.
Then he noticed, Sonny wasn't wearing the tracker on his arm any more.
"The only reason you are here now, and without a tracker, must be that you finally cut a deal with Maddox. Do I need to worry for Helena and little Shiloh, or are you going to tell me what you agreed upon doing?" he asked.
Sonny smiled.
"I will tell you everything Corso, as soon as you have rested some. Helena and Shiloh are safe. What we need to do though, is find those flux devices, before the finals tomorrow" he said.
Corso nodded.
"All that you asked me to take care of, is fixed. We can go as soon as we can safely bring Helena and Shiloh on board. We even have people ready, a special nurse and a doctor whom wants to join the pirates, that knows pediatrics and premature babies issues, ready" he said.
Sonny nodded.
"Good. Thank you for doing this for us Corso. I know it was a major undertaking" he said.
Corso smiled.
"I also had the contractors start building your dream home at the wood in Shiloh City. A couple of months, since its so big,and its ready for you. You will have a great time there, with your family around you. You so deserve this Sonny" he said.
He was rewarded by Sonny giving him a hug, before he sent him off to bed for a few hours
As soon as Corso had gone, Sonny sat down in the massive control center of his ship, his home away from home.
He had missed it while he was in captivity.
With a smile, Sonny sent out a coded message to his men, informing them, he was back in charge.
Helena smiled where she fed her daughter.
Shiloh Star was still very small for a baby, much the size of a baby doll, but she was breating on her own, and looked healthy for a premature baby her age.
Sonny had informed her of the deal he and Duke Maddox had made, before he headed to The Black Manta to relieve Corso.
Corso needed some rest, after running himself ragged, carrying out all of Sonnys orders, in his absence.
To fullfill his end of this deal, Sonny had to pull his end of the work to find the flux devices.
Meanwhile, she needed to care for their newborn.
It was scary, to deal with a baby so small.
D'Jok had been normal size, and full born. Shiloh was not.
But so far, no health issues.
Helena knew, once Sonny had solved this matter, and she knew he was highly motivated to succeed, they would leave Genesis, and head to Shiloh City again.
This was where her home would be.
Where they would raise Shiloh.
She had seen the plans Sonny had made for their new home.
She absolutely loved it.
A peaceful oasis, in her favourite area.
They could have picnics in the garden, and be the happy family they always wanted to be.
All she needed to do, was take care of herself, heal from the bumps and bruises Bleylock inflicted on her, and then, just be a fulltime mom.
With that view, life was looking pretty good, as long as it was with Sonny.
Bleylock had executed his plan to escape the holding cell.
He kind of got why droids would never outmatch a pirate.
This was way too easy.
He hoped to make it in time to get in position to place the bomb, before the finals.
What a glorious sight that would be, to see Genesis, and all his enemies be blasted to a million and more pieces.
That is what they got for treating him as they did.
There, he could see the pirates swarming his hide out.
Well, all he needed to do, was pick up the suitcases from Harris, and his plan could be executed.
Sonny gritted teeth when he was notified that Bleylock had escaped. He and Duke Maddox had not been able to get anything out of him in regards to where his flux devices was hidden.
If Bleylock was on the loose again, he would be on his way to where they were hidden.
He wouldnt risk waiting, he was too close to his target.
Not if he had a say in the matter though.
Sonny had to wake up Corso, and quickly told him what had happened.
Corso nodded.
"Are we going after him Sonny? And do we have a lead for where he might be?" he asked.
Sonny nodded.
Corso could see the hazel eyes take a darker shade.
Sonny had unfinished business with Bleylock, and Corso was never happier he was not in Bleylocks place..
Blasted pirates!
Bleylock realised Sonny wasn't going to give him a moments peace.
And it seemed, someone had also told on him, and his hideout.
It could be Sinedd, it could be coninsidence, but Bleylock wasn't convinced of that.
No matter where he went, he saw them.
They were skillfull at blending in.
If you didn't know, you wouldnt know they were pirates.
But their tools gave them away.
Bleylock was hurrying along forwards, and for a second, he glanced upwards.
What a rotten luck he had.
On the bridge, he saw Sonny, flanked by Corso. And Sonny had seen him. Bleylock could see Sonny point him out to Corso.
And Sonny looked about ready to jump into the crowd to stop him if he had to.
With a pirate, you never really knew what to expect.
Bleylock hurried.
He needed to get out of here, before Sonny could catch him.
The other pirates didn't worry him too much.
Sonny Blackbones..was a different story, especially when he was mad.
Artie was on Bleylocks tail and reported to Corso, whom relayed to Sonny what he was told.
Sonny gritted teeth in frustration.
The finals was due to start in just a little while, and Bleylock didn't have the flux devices on him from the reports.
They had seen him at Luna Genesis, and Bennett was using his flux scanner to locate them.
The stakes had never been higher.
Sonny already had reason to believe this mix was going to cause a serious destabilisation of the galaxy if he didn't intervene.
So he would, with risks for his own life and his men.
He wanted a quiet life with his wife,his new born daughter and his son, in Shiloh City, out of the line of fire.
He had promised Corso to go down that route.
The pirates had made it all ready, and the home was under build, at a location Sonny had chosen years ago, cause he felt it peaceful there.
If Bleylock won, there would be no peace to preserve.
And a bigger flux device could have a bigger blast range.
Corso looked at him as Sonny considered if they were going to jump.
"Come on Sonny, Artie can tail him for now. It looks like he is headed to the private gates. You are not being tracked. So we should avoid the robots, and cut him off there" Corso suggested.
Sonny nodded and let Corso lead the way, since he seemed to know a short cut.
Helena was sitting in her room, with Shiloh Star and watched the match.
Sonny had told her to be ready to leave soon after the match was over.
He would try to get hold of D'Jok after it was over, to see if he would come with now, or if he would have a smaller scout ship hang behind to transport him to them later.
She and Shiloh would have to leave before things settled.
Sonny would go with them.
The final between the snow kids and the Xenons was exciting.
Luur had decided to be a solo player for his team, and D'Jok was urging his team to play together.
This match promised to be exciting.
Helena just hoped the snow kids could handle it if they lost, as the Xenons looked unbeatable.
Sonny and Corso had moved through the vents at high speed.
Bennett had located the casings for the flux devices in Luna Genesis, but they were not there.
Bleylock still had the damn things, and he was not going to let anyone know what his plan was.
Sonny looked out, and there, he saw him.
Bleylock had slowed his pace, thinking himself safe now, since Artie wasn't on his tail any more.
Too bad for him, Artie wasn't the only pirate involved.
"Here he comes Corso, lets drop in on his little party" Sonny said through gritted teeth.
Corso nodded.
With all that had happened during the last few days, Sonny was pissed off and rightfully so.
He needed to neutralize this threat, and fast.
"I'm right behind you Sonny" he said as the two of them made their way to stop Bleylock.
But it seemed he sensed their presence.
Bleylock stopped and turned, pointing at them.
"Seize them!" he ordered his robots.
But two robots will never be enough to stop two furious pirates.
Sonny and Corso both attacked the robots and put them out of commission.
"Shows over Bleylock. Where are the flux devices?" Sonny demanded to know, as he took a step towards Bleylock.
"Why, at Luna Genesis off course" Bleylock claimed.
More lies, what else was to be expected.
"You know those cases were empty" Sonny snarled.
Bleylock raised an eyebrow.
"Were they?" he tried.
Sonny took another step closer to the monster that had tried to kill his wife and daughter,
"Dont try to fool me" he said.
That was when Bleylock pulled out a vapour laser, and aimed it at Sonny.
"Sonny, watch out!" Corso yelled, eyes wide in shock, as he saw Bleylock aim at Sonny.
At such a close range, a shot would potentially be deadly for Sonny.
"Bleylock.." Sonny said as he froze in place.
Bleylock looked at him in disgust.
"Careful Sonny. Harm me, and you will never find the flux devices. You see, the problem with you Blackbones, is that you are always a day late and a standard unit short, farewell" Bleylock said as he raised the laser, not to shoot at Sonny, but the control panel, that allowed for a laser proof door to create a barrier between them.
Sonny and Corso rushed to the door, trying to bust it in.
"You wont escape this time Bleylock" Sonny roared as he was pounding at the door.
Bleylock looked at him with a smirk.
"Oh, but I will" he said and took off running.
Corso and Sonny continued to pound the door, in hopes that it would give way.
But the door seemed solid enough.
It didn't take long before Sonny realised, they were wasting time.
And the alarm Bleylock had triggered, reminded them, this was about to turn dangerous.
"Corso, we have to get out of here" Sonny said, abandoning the idea of busting in the door.
Corso looked at him, before he pointed.
"Sonny, look!" he said.
They could both see Bleylock take off in a small ship.
And from the other end, a small army of droids marching towards them.
The alarm.
Sonny knew this would be a tight spot now.
As they saw Bleylock fly off, Sonny was forced to make a decision.
They stayed here, to fight the droids, Bleylock would disappear, and all they had worked for would go to waste.
And the galaxy would be in great danger.
He had gained his freedom now, because of a deal he made with Duke Maddox, to go after Bleylock, in an attempt to apprehend him, and to stop whatever plan he was up to.
Officially, Duke Maddox couldn't back him up,he would still have to pretend Sonny was a fugitive and that they were after him.
But Sonny also had the window of time Duke Maddox had given him, to create a safe distance between himself and Genesis, and in this time, he planned to be halfway to Shiloh city by the time Technoid gave chase.
He wasn't worried.
The Black Manta was a powerful ship and could easily outrun them.
And he was sure Shiloh could handle the speed.
But to leave Bleylock holding on to a weapon of such force..unthinkable, and unacceptable.
Sonny let his gaze scover around, what could he use to even the odds?
As he looked up, he saw a possible solution.
There was a few container crates hanging from the roof.
They looked heavy, and they were also directly above the droids they were fighting.
If they could make them drop, right on top of them, they could get back to The Black Manta,and chase Bleylock down.
There was no other choice left.
"Corso, aim for the containers" Sonny ordered from where he was ducking down behind a container they had tipped over for cover from the laser beams.
Corso looked at him.
Then, he looked in the direction Sonny beckoned.
"You mean those up there?" he asked for clarification.
Sonny gave a nod.
"Yes, we may be able to stop them all that way" he said.
Both Sonny and Corso were good marksmen, a necessity when you live as a wanted fugitive.
They both took careful aim and could see the lines that held the crates, snap one by one.
After two shots, from both of them, wich snapped the lines that held the crates securely, Sonny and Corso took aim again, and fired at the last strain.
They both ducked down quickly, as the crates crushed the droids.
As soon as Sonny was sure they were clear, he looked at Corso.
"To the Black Manta, and hurry!".
The pirates on watch jumped to their feet as Sonny and Corso arrived.
"Immideate take off. We are in hot pursuit of Bleylock. He has a very dangerous weapon in his posession, and if we don't stop him, we all might not have a future to speak of. Corso, you will do the flight. Bleylock is not to get away, he does, we have no idea what he will do, and I promise, its nothing good" Sonny said.
The pirates took their position, and the Black Manta left her harbour, to chase down the most dangerous villain the galaxy had seen yet.
